Charged twice for purchases I did not authorize
I signed up after seeing an advertisement and authorized an initial payment of $3.99.
After signing up, I browsed the website and selected tutorials/patterns that I believed were part of the service I had just paid to access. When doing so, I was not presented with a checkout page, a $19.99 price, or a clear message saying that I was making an additional purchase. The message I remember seeing was simply: “We are preparing your tutorial.”
I then discovered that I had been charged two additional payments of $19.99 each, described afterwards as “Character Patterns” and “Cute Animal Patterns”.
I did not knowingly authorize either of these purchases. Had I been clearly told that selecting the content would cost an additional $19.99 each, I would never have proceeded.
I contacted support immediately. They refused to refund the charges, repeatedly stating that these were “one-time promotional offers”, that I had accepted them, and that they were non-refundable.
I have repeatedly asked them to provide the actual evidence showing what was displayed to me before each $19.99 transaction and what specific action I supposedly took to authorize each separate payment. So far, they have not provided that evidence and have instead continued referring to their refund policy.
This is not about changing my mind and asking for a refund for something I knowingly purchased. I dispute that I authorized these two additional purchases in the first place.
I have saved the transaction records and my complete correspondence with the company and will dispute the charges with my card issuer if they are completed.
Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone using this service carefully monitor any charges made after the initial sign-up payment.
EDIT: I will update this review if the company provides evidence that I expressly authorized the two $19.99 purchases or refunds the disputed charges.
