Lift started in 2010 as a family-run shop in Puerto Rico. In 2015, co-founder Nick Leason — an engineer and lifelong surfer — designed the original eFoil, adapting technology from smartphones, electric vehicles, and drones into a board that flies above the water without needing wind or waves. Lift shipped its first commercial eFoil, the LIFT1, in 2018, and has released five eFoil generations since, leading up to today's LIFT5 and LIFTX.
Every Lift eFoil is built around the Lift Connect System (LCS) & a tool-free, click-and-lock setup that lets riders swap masts, propulsion units, wings, and batteries in seconds, no tools required. The boards are fun but very expensive…
The boards are fun but very expensive and battery life is much less than the company advertises. I have 2 lift 5 and neither get more than 45 minutes of ride time regardless of rider size. Lift customer service blamed the short battery life on rider style and weight. We have tried different props and slower speeds but it really doesn’t matter. I would suggest looking at different efoil brands before dropping 15k on these.

After sales needs improvement
We like your product and rent your boards at our resort (LaSamanna in St Martin)
In the past it has been extremely frustrating to get after sales service (like our « sales rep » NEVER RETURNS A CALL) so we call directly.and some parts have had unacceptable wait times.. it seems to be getting better and we hope that trend continues

I needed a larger rear foil for my Efoil and they pointed out the larger surface 480 would fit my 220# better. Due to a no exchange policy I ordered the larger one and they gave me a discount to help offset shipping.

€3,250 battery failed after approximately 40–50 cycles — 88 days without resolution
I have been a Lift customer since 2019 and was also Lift's dealer for Bulgaria for several years.
In May 2023, I purchased a replacement battery for €3,250. It worked normally during the 2023, 2024 and 2025 seasons and, by my estimate, had only around 40–50 cycles.
On July 4, 2026, after approximately 30 minutes of riding, the battery failed and started flashing red. Lift told me that the red lights indicated a "critical battery failure" and instructed me not to use the battery.
I provided all requested information, photos and video and repeatedly followed up. After 21 days, Lift acknowledged that the delay was "far too long." After 42 days, I was still waiting.
Eventually, Lift said the battery was outside warranty and attributed the failure to a long period without charging. I disputed this because I had maintained the battery at approximately 30–80% when not in use and had fully charged it before my vacation.
On August 31, Lift offered me 15% off the purchase of another battery rather than replacing the failed one.
The ticket was then marked "Solved", even though I had explicitly said that it was not solved.
On September 1, Lift told me the case would be escalated to management.
Today, September 30, 88 days after my original report, I still have no resolution or further response.
I am disappointed not only by the battery failure, but especially by the customer-service experience and the lack of meaningful follow-up.
I am sharing this review so current and prospective Lift customers can make their own assessment.

Lift 5 5'4"
Got a lift 5 cruiser a couple weeks ago, so far board works great, hardware bag was left out of order but contacted lift and they shipping me another, great efoil, best ride on the market

Honestly, everything has been top-notch. The deal we got, the shipping, customer service, and unboxing have all been excellent. I haven't been out on the water with MY Lift yet, but I have tried plenty of others and expect the same awesomeness.
