Great start to an evening in Rome
This was the perfect start to an evening in Rome. Both Valeria and Benedetta are so personable and friendly and I felt comfortable from the moment I arrived. Delicious and varied apertivo, first ever negroni, colourful fiat 500, many laughs and interesting conversations. The time went by so quickly. I can totally recommend this experience.

Jamila was great! We did a Aparitivo Tour with our daughters. Great way to learn about Rome and Italian food and culture. We went to 3 places and tried some foods at each as well as one specific drink at each.

Our guide, Benedetta, was nothing short of amazing. We enjoyed our tour and each other so much our 4 hour tour went 5 hours plus….
Not only did we see back streets, beautiful Christmas lights, and tasted great food but we laughed and learned little known facts about the areas we visited.
I highly recommend Local Aromas and their team…. We will be back in 2027 and we will use them.

Pasta with Grandma
My daughters and I booked a cooking class, Pasta making class with nonna, while in Roma. It was easy to find. Located inside a gorgeous restaurant and we were greeted by the kindest, most warm-hearted nonna’s (Rosy & Egle) and their granddaughter, Francesca. It was by far the MOST memorable experience of our trip! We made fettuccine, spinach ravioli & farfalle. It was 100% hands on, fun, interactive and amazing-not to mention delicious! Grazie Mille! As for The Local Aromas sisters- I found them on Instagram and used many of their suggestions while in Roma. Our second favourite place was the Jewish district where we enjoyed some amazing artichoke dishes and quaint shops.

Local Aromas Mystery Food Tour Review
The Local Aromas Mystery Food Tour was great. Chiara, our guide, was very nice and knowledgeable. It was interesting because she is a food archaeologist and she gave cool facts about the food and drinks we tried. We had four stops along the tour and it included one cocktail and one glass of wine. You get to try popular Roman street food and get dessert too. Overall, it was nice to walk along the Prati neighborhood of Rome and enjoy good food. I recommend this tour if you want try different foods typical of Rome and learn more about the culture.

Amazing Pasta Tasting and Tour Guide
On our first day in Rome we had an amazing experience with Eric tasting the 4 Roman pastas at a local restaurant. We had such fun and learned so much. I would highly recommend this tour and I can't wait to visit Rome again so we can do another Local Aromas tour.

Pure Christmas magic
I was the only person who signed up for the Christmas tour that night, so I ended up having a truly private tour with guide Chiara. The bonus was that Bene came along as well. They made me feel as if we had been friends for ages and I had just come to visit them for the holiday. They felt so much like friends that I forgot to take a picture of the three of us (about which I am very sad)! We walked, we talked, we ate, we drank, we laughed, we shared. Truly, I felt like we had known each other for ages. They shared so much with me about all the secrets and history of Rome as well as their personal experiences.
Chiara is a food archeologist (!) so her insight into the Italian cuisine and its history was fascinating. She blended it together with personal stories from her own family's recipes and traditions so I received a richer understanding of what we were eating and why. Maybe one day I will try to make the insalata rus we had at one of our stops.
Having Bene along was the icing on the cake. Our conversations were wide-ranging, personal, educational, and fascinating. Together she and Chiara made it a magical night. I wish I could go back tomorrow and do it all over again.
I have already started recommending Local Aromas to my family, friends, and clients who might be traveling to Italy in 2026. That evening, just before the official start of Christmas in Rome, with these two wonderful and talented people, will be one of my cherished Christmas memories for many years to come.

What you described is exactly the feeling we hope guests take home, that sense of walking, eating, talking, and laughing with people who very quickly stop feeling like guides and start feeling like friends. Knowing you felt that kind of connection with Chiara and Bene, especially on a Christmas evening in Rome, is incredibly special to us.
Chiara will be so happy to hear how much her stories and background added to the experience. She has a beautiful way of mixing food history with real life, family memories, and everyday Roman traditions. And yes, having Bene along truly does add that extra layer of warmth and magic, so we completely understand why the night stayed with you.

We met Benedetta and Valeria for appetizers, wine and art at a restaurant right around the corner from our hotel. It is called Bistrot Collegio. It was great getting to know the sisters. And since the meeting was just me and my husband we got to learn a lot about Rome from them. We even went back to Collegio the next night. Meeting Benedetta and Valeria was a great way to start our Rome visit.

A cooking class that felt like cooking with family
Our group of 11 had a fabulous time at the cooking class with Christina and her daughter Valentina at their villa. We had a 4 year old with us and he had a grand time as well. We made cacio e pepe, gnocchi, and tiramisu. The flow was so natural and we filled every bit of 3 hours. I appreciate that in addition to the pasta, they showed us how to make the sauces as well with tips and tricks. There was plenty of wine and prosecco. We were stuffed at the end and it was one of the best meals we had. They gave us a link to all the recipes when we finished so we could completely relax and enjoy the class.
The only issue we had was transportation. We were able to get a cab from central Rome to the location but had difficulty getting a cab back. Christina made a few phone calls, got cabs scheduled, and waited with us until we were all picked up.

Wine and Cheese and Four Roman Pastas Review
I really enjoyed both the Wine and Cheese Tasting experience with Benedetta and the Four Roman Pasta Tasting with Eric. Both guides were very knowledgeable about the wine and food elements of the experiences and they took great care to ensure there wasn’t any duplication of wines so that I got the broadest possible experience. I gained a great deal of knowledge about wine varieties local to the area and enjoyed some very tasty and authentic Roman food to complement the wine. They were very generous with their time and we had some great conversations over the course of both evenings about food, wine and life in Rome. Thank you so much!

Sunrise tour
We (grandmother, daughter, granddaughter) just experienced the most brilliant 5AM-8AM tour with our guide, Christian, that you organized for us.
Absolutely fabulous!! The Spanish Steps were completely empty except for us! The entry facade of the Pantheon was completely empty except for us!! The Trevi fountain had perhaps 12 others at the fountain. We were able to take as much time & many photos as we wished.
The bakery that Christian took us to had baked goods that were as delicious as they smelled!
This was truly the highlight & will be the best memory of my trip to Rome. Thank you for so brilliantly providing this experience.

Private Breakfast Tour - So Worth It
We had an awesome private breakfast tour with Giulia. It was exactly what we wanted it to be — took us off the beaten path to enjoy some local tastes an avoid tourist traps. I would book this tour again in a heartbeat (and probably any other Local Aromas tour I could find!). Highly recommend.

Fantastic Jewish Ghetto Tour
If you are in Rome, you must do the Jewish Ghetto and Food Tour through Local Aromas. Our guide, Benedetta, was a great storyteller and did a wonderful job in weaving together history, the culture and stories from a local Roman who lived in the Jewish Ghetto during the 1930’s. We have taken a similar tour in the past, but Benny shared facts we never knew. She is engaging and really knows her stuff! I highly recommend this tour.

Great pasta tasting in Rome
We scheduled a tasting experience with Giulia and it was amazing, not only was she very friendly and understanding but also taught us a lot about the origin of the pastas and the experience was located in a place I had never heard of so when we go back to Rome we look forward to go to that special place again and even book another experience with Local Aromas

A MUST-DO experience in Rome
If traveling to Rome, Local Aromas is an absolute MUST! My family and I had an amazing time with Benny & Mamma Giuliana — not to mention, the food we made was SO good and true authentic Italy food. We learned how to make stuffed ravioli and tiramisu which you simply can’t replicate without their ingredients and tips and tricks! Truly a 5 star experience.

My husband and I took our very first cooking class with Chef Carla, and it was genuinely one of the highlights of our trip. She was so fun, warm, and incredibly patient with our beginner skills. We made fresh ravioli, tiramisu, and gelato! All absolutely delicious!
Her space is beautiful, cozy, and so aesthetic, and the whole experience felt truly authentic. This was not a tourist trap at all; it felt like being welcomed into an Italian home with real conversation, great food, and lots of laughter.
Highly recommend Chef Carla’s class to anyone looking for a memorable and authentic Italian cooking experience!

Overprized considering the menu. Great streets we walked through and one good glas of wine!
Our guide on the Mysteri and Surprise food tour was very nice and educational. She took us to some realy cute streets and neighbourhood that were not so touristic. I would have liked it, as we were a very small group that she would hvae eaten and drinken with us, but I understand that working as a food tour guide can be compliceated, schecedualing your own rythm of life to it. The food was more street food oriented than I expected and we had one coktali and one glass of vine…would have needed something to drink with the pizza slice and the heavy riceball. Overall the menu was a bit to heavy in my taste, two deepfried dishes and pizza and bread with stuffing. And for what we ate I think the tour is totally overprised, I was expecting more classy and fancy food paying 196 euros for one person! The best of the tour for me was the really good red wine and the streets we walkef
