My Mom and I booked the Aperitivo Tour and had a fantastic experience with Jamila. She was extremely knowledgeable as a food anthropologist and the locations we went to offered delicious drinks and food. We both came away with a new respect for the Italian culture and would highly recommend booking with Local Aromas.

We did several foodie experiences with Local Aromas in Rome, Florence and Tuscany, and had an amazing time on each tour. We sampled incredible food and drinks, learned so much, and made so many new friends. I cannot recommend Local Aromas enough, and can't wait for more experiences on my next trip!

We throughly enjoyed our Friday night group Italian street food tour. Our lovely, knowledgeable guide was welcoming and friendly.
There’s something special about enjoying the authentic, high quality street food of this ancient city, with a real Roman guiding us.
The tour began near the Spanish steps with an aperitivo and ended with Gelato near Castel Sant'Angelo.
I’d say we all started the tour as strangers but certainly ended as friends! Highly recommend! Grazie!

Definitely a MUST do!
Let me begin by saying this experience was amazing from start to finish. My sister and I wanted a cooking class, but this was so much more! We arrived early at our meeting spot in a small piazza market, and were greeted in the sweetest way by Jamila who immediately made us feel welcomed and comfortable, as if we were meeting family we didn't know we had. She then took us for an Italian breakfast of coffee and pastry standing at the bar in the traditional Italian way, it was wonderful. After, we had a walk around the market and bought a few things for our cooking class. I won't give away all her surprises, but believe me, it was memorable. Jamila is not only a good teacher she knows so much about the history of Italy and the food. We enjoyed and savored every moment! It is an experience not to be missed!

Touring Rome's empty streets at 5 am
Although we are not early morning people, we signed up for the sunrise tour of Rome as a way to have an overview of all of the sights in Rome. Christian picked us up at our hotel at 5 am and proceeded to do a 3 hour+ tour through the almost empty streets of Rome. We were able to visit the Pantheon, Forum, Coliseum, Vatican, Trevi Fountain and many other places in a way that could not have happened later in the day. Christian exuded enthusiasm for the history and was a storehouse of knowledge about everything we saw. It was a great tour and one that we would recommend to anyone. Thank you.

Amazing - Take this Tour
My husband and I visited Rome in November 2025 to complete the Jubilee pilgrimage. We knew we also wanted to learn more about the history of the community in addition to connecting with our faith. We decided to take the tour through the Jewish Ghetto through Local Aromas. This was a wonderful decision. Our guide, Benedetta, was amazing. She shared so much about the history of this area and about the resiliency of its residents. We could feel the care and compassion she had when explaining their hardships. She also did a wonderful job highlighting the foods from the area. We were able to enjoy the delicacies in a lovely restaurant. We highly recommend this tour and Benedetta.

Mystery Food Tour
Our tour guide was great. She was very knowledgeable and informative. The foods we tried were general street food and an aperitivo experience. By the last stop I was done with eating and just enjoyed walking through the city. I was disappointed that the tour that was scheduled to last 3 hours only lasted 2,5. I am torn about whether the tour was worth the price I paid.

Regarding the timing, we completely understand how it might have felt shorter; time does fly when you are having a great time. However, we wanted to clarify a small detail. Our guides are so passionate about what they do that they often extend their time with guests, never shorten it.
With a group of 7 people, multiple seated tastings, and plenty of walking through Rome’s backstreets, it’s actually logistically impossible for the tour to run only two and a half hours. In this case, the experience began 15 minutes early since everyone had arrived, and Jamila said goodbye after the gelato stop at 8:55 PM — meaning the experience lasted about 3 hours and five minutes in total.
We’re sorry if it felt otherwise, but we truly hope you still enjoyed exploring Rome’s flavors and atmosphere with us. Your feedback helps us keep improving, and we’re grateful you joined us! 💛
Amazing time with Chef Cristina
We had an amazing time with Chef Cristina during our Local Aromas - Four Roman Pastas “Master” Class last night. She taught us how to prepare and cook Cacio Pepe, Gricia, Amitriciana, and Carbonara at her private villa. Cristina’s home was peaceful and rejuvenating as we wined and dined on our home made deliciousness. We will be chasing these flavors for the rest of our lives. So surreal we still can’t believe it happened! Thank you so much Cristina and also thank you Benny and Val for a night we will never forget. Hoping to meet you in person 😉.

Our cicchetti and wine tour in Venice with Cecelia was outstanding!! It was the best thing we did on our two week trip. She was the most wonderful person and very informative. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Explored the world of Aperitivo a Roma!
My husband and I had a wonderful Aperitivo Experience in Rome! We were treated to three unique experiences during our tour by our lovely and well-educated guide. We were able to explore different neighborhoods, styles of food and drink, and learn more about the history of the ritual of 'Aperitivo'. Highly recommend for anyone looking to try something new during their visit.

Best way to start your Rome trip
Giulia was a fantastic guide! She was so knowledgeable on the area, the food and was easy to talk to. The three pizza locations were all so different, it made the experience very memorable! We had a 3yr and 5yr old with us, and they loved it too.

I had the pleasure of joining the Mystery and Surprise Food Tour. Jamila was our guide. She was so knowledgeable! As a Roman and a food anthropologist she shared so much information about the food and the local spots we visited. The food was delicious and she was a treasure! It was the highlight of my trip. I only wish I had taken the tour earlier in the trip! It is a must do! Also, I felt very welcome as a solo traveler. Local aromas was so helpful and responsive from my first email before my trip, all the way through the food tour and even after! Outstanding!

We did an olive oil tasting with Eric and had an INCREDIBLE time!
He was very kind and welcoming and so educated on all the aspects of olive oil, not just the olives, but each region.
We learned so much and can't wait to come back and do another tasting and/or tour.
