We paid £4000!
We paid £4000 to The London Clinic of Nutrition for consultations and testing for our 3-year-old autistic daughter.
Before committing, we were told that blood tests could be carried out at home, would require only a small number of vials, and that no additional costs for blood draws would be incurred.
After payment, this was not the case. We were informed that tests had to be carried out in a laboratory on multiple occasions, required significantly more blood than described (including multiple adult-sized vials), and that we would need to arrange and pay separately for blood draws, despite already having paid £4000.
In addition, some of the tests originally outlined & paid for were removed, and one test (FRAT) was substituted without our prior agreement. The agreed testing formed a key part of our decision to proceed with the £4000 payment.
The initial consultation we received did not provide substantive guidance and instead focused largely on recommending further paid services and supplements. We did not feel that any meaningful advice was provided without additional costs being required.
We raised these concerns and requested a fair refund, explaining we were happy to pay for Oliver’s time taken for the initial consultation. We were offered & received a partial refund of £2750. I made it clear that I did not consider this to be a fair resolution. However, £1250 was retained for a single consultation, which we do not feel reflects the value of the service provided on that call.
We are currently pursuing this matter further through our credit card provider and other appropriate channels.
We would recommend that anyone considering the London Clinic of Nutrition, to obtain full written clarity on testing requirements, costs, and exactly what is included before proceeding with payment.
