Headline: Stay away from Machinio—they will hold your business data hostage
I highly recommend avoiding Machinio if you are looking for a database host or advertising platform. They are easily one of the worst and most frustrating companies I have ever dealt with, especially regarding transparency and data ownership.
When you use their system, you assume your data belongs to you—but Machinio acts like they own it. They frequently force major, sweeping updates onto their universal database without asking for any user input. They simply implement changes overnight and expect your business to just deal with it. If you try to reach out with feedback, they completely ignore you, refusing to listen to any criticism or customer suggestions.
The absolute biggest red flag comes if you ever decide to leave them for a different platform. If you migrate away, Machinio will hold your data hostage. They refuse to export or hand over any leads generated through their paid advertising channels. The only data they will allow you to take are leads that came directly from your own website or ones you manually entered yourself. They essentially lock you out of customer information you rightfully paid to acquire, making it incredibly difficult to transition to a competitor.
Save yourself an immense headache, protect your business data, and definitely look elsewhere.

And the icing over the cake I had a friendly conversation with one of their associate her name is Maggie about the future of my company after I sold itand after the call she charged my card $2000 without my consent or authorization

Machinio made it happen…we have been using the site for years as Buyers but this is the first time we tried the site as a Seller. Within 60 days we sold our conveyor 2,000 miles away exceeding our expectations! We highly recommend the site. Very very unfortunate that they get you to sign up with them by saying it’s a month to month service and then come to find out in the fine print it’s a year long contract. Make sure you get everything via email so the salesman that pushes this on you doesn’t change the terms on you. Read everything before you sign. Also, I wouldn’t use this company because none of their staff knows if they can do an inventory feed. I wasted a lot of time and money only to get everything built and find out they can’t do a simple inventory feed from my software provider. Don’t let the low price fool you. It’s cheap for a reason.

Our experience with Machinio was excellent from beginning to end.

We purchased a used MAJA ESM 4550 for our meat processing facility in Canada. The platform made it easy to find the equipment we were looking for, and the listing accurately represented the machine.

Throughout the purchasing process, communication was clear, prompt, and professional. We were especially impressed with the outstanding service provided by Max Leib at M&M Equipment. He kept us informed at every step, answered all of our questions quickly, provided photos and videos of the machine in operation, and ensured everything was ready for pickup and international shipping.

La partie front progresse clairement : les annonces sont bien présentées, la gestion des machines et demandes est fluide et le référencement semble bien travaillé.

Nous apprécions également la prise en compte des remontées terrain et l’accompagnement de notre responsable de compte, Nicolas, qui est très réactif et disponible.

La partie administration du site web reste à mon sens plus complexe et parfois moins transparente. Une simplification de cette interface permettrait une gestion plus fluide, avec une meilleure maîtrise de notre présence en ligne et de la cohérence de notre image.

Globalement, Machinio est une solution sérieuse, en développement constant, avec une vraie qualité d’accompagnement.
