No dress and no refund. Every email I send is met with a pathetic excuse. They have stolen my money, and I hold little hope of recovery. Steer clear—this company is a scam.

DON’T TRUST THEM! NEW OWNERS ARE JUST AS DODGY!!

New ownership claims to be turning this brand around, however unfortunately they are as bad (if not worse) as the previous owners, and the owners before that. They are refusing to honour a credit note of $178. Communication has been terrible, with me having to hound them for a response to my emails. I’ve explained that the only reason I have this credit note is because the items I purchased were faulty, and one item was missing from my order all together!! And yet they are still refusing to honour the credit note (I am really entitled to a refund!). They are saying that the credit note has expired, and I know for a fact that it has not. This is basically robbing money from customers, and to be honest is really upsetting. If you were truthfully trying to turn the business’ reputation around then this is not a great example of an honest ethical business. Customers deserve better. Don’t trust them, they will take your money! This brand has gone to the dogs.
FYI I never leave negative reviews, but these guys have really upset me, and it deserves to be called out so that other customers aren’t fooled into believing that the new ownership is any less likely to rip them off.

Brilliant new owners

After having had a very bumpy dealing with the previous owners of Mahli the label. I reached out to the new owners and they have resolved my issue and rectified the problem in under 24hours. They have been incredible to deal with and I am really looking forward to the new incarnation of Mahli the label

DO NOT BUY

DO NOT BUY! Even if they have a sale drawing you in. They will not send your items and will not give a refund. They initially sent me a gift card for my initial purchase after waiting six months. Tried to give the benefit of the doubt and use it again and still the same run around.
If you have issues, please report to your fair trading from the state you are from (if in australia) as well as to the ACC.
They will block you on any social media and will not respond to your email.
If you have paid with afterpay or PayPal and are still in an okay time frame, report them and they will do the refund for you. For me it was too late as I gave them a solid time frame to send the shoes. Dont risk it!
The original owner was rebecca sheehan who has now 'left the company'. She has also deleted and changed her name on social media.
However she still has a business listed under her name.
It is dodgy and a shame for small businesses to be discredited because of some low life loser to live her best life of the back of others.

Another Scammed Victim

Purchased a dress, took weeks to arrive. Terrible quality and faulty.
Returned for refund as per their advertised policy. Only to be told they are new owners and not liable to refund, that I need to claim from previous owner who has now gone bankrupt.
After Many emails and lies they have kept my money and told me I can pursue my money back by lodging a small claims case in court.
They have disclosed all comments on their social media accounts and blocked customers from allowing to see how many complaints there are.
Just completely unethical scammers, I’m confused as to why they are still trading ?

Absolutely terrible experience

Absolutely terrible experience. Ordered boots that took over 6 months to arrive. Poor communication. No compensation offered. I am a small business owner myself so I’m blindsided but such dirt poor customer service and communication. The boots are made from absolute crap, they are now leaking this terrible white crap all over the from that can’t be washed off with leather cleaner. DO NOT order from the site.

Never buy from this company

Never buy from this company.
I ordered boots in April 2023 and still haven't received them.

They were made to order boots and there was a wait for a few weeks to have them made.

There was a string of delay emails in 2023 and thanking customers for their patience. Every time i emailed them in November and december they said they were being shipped that week. They never were. By the end of the year I just wanted a refund. They refused a refund and said the boots would be shipped that week.

By January no boots, requested another refund. Was ignored. Lodged complaint with Fair Trading who have now escalated the case. Looks like I'm not the only one.

SCAMMERS! REPORT THIS COMPANY.

Scamming hundreds of people. Stealing money from suppliers and customers. Not sending orders. Lying over and over again. If you’re reading this and have had a similar experience with Mahli the Label, report the company to Fair Traiding Aus, ASIC or Consumer Affairs. Or all of the above if you can. This company needs to be shut down. If you have been scammed, report to your bank! It may take some time but they will get you your money back. Do not let these people steal from you. This company is a disgrace.

Buyer beware - lies lies lies

Buyer beware. Lies lies lies followed by more lies. Ordered boots in June 22, waited months and months for boots to be delivered, sending multiple emails for an update with no response. Saw the boots were being sold as in stock in December so asked where mine were. Finally had them dispatched and incorrect size sent - arrived 6 months after I ordered. Immediately contacted customer service and was promised a replacement pair would be sent that week. 3 weeks later, alas no boots. I was then told I would need to pay to have the boots returned before they would send the other boots out. I refused as I should not have to pay for their error and requested a return number and was then told that there were now no boots in stock and I would have to pay to return the boots but then would only receive a credit note. I have repeatedly told customer service I should not be responsible for paying to return boots that were sized incorrectly. I am also not interested in reinvesting my money into a sham business. My last request was to be refunded but I have not had a response. I have repeatedly been given lie after lie with no offer of a resolution. I have now lodged a complaint with the office of fair trading after being blocked on social media and having my emails ignored. Absolutely atrocious customer service, with endless lies being told until customers give up. I now have a pair of $180 boots I waited 6 months for that I can’t wear because they are too big.

Illegal trader

Item received (eventually) and was faulty. Returned and told they couldn’t replace because they had no more stock. I asked for a refund as per consumer trading law and I get vague responses saying she’s “unable” to refund me and to “give her another chance”. I’ve lodged a dispute with Afterpay and with the Office of Fair Trading today. Please don’t trade with this dishonest company.
New owner is now blaming the old owner for issues. She needs to honour all the returns and refunds if she’s acquired this business. I literally don’t care who owns it.

This business is the biggest scam…

This business is the biggest scam ever!! Don't purchase off them. I ordered a dress which cost me over $200 in October and I still have not received it. Multiple emails have been sent and only one response has been made ensuring me my order will be sent. Two months later and still nothing and no response to my last two emails. So many women are in the same boat. They are nothing but thieves. Taking orders and not managing to fill them. I am beyond disappointed and disgusted that anyone could run a business this way especially here in Australia. I hope they get shut down once and for all.

Deceived, devastated and furious

I've been a loyal, loyal customer of this brand for years. Thousands spent. Literally thousands.

Things started going awry early last year for me when a bunch of things I'd ordered 'got lost' or 'fell off a ship' or something.

Then, I made the huge mistake of ordering a dress in March 2023. I expected a wait for a couple of months as agreed, and I still do not have this dress, because not only did it get delayed at least three times, I was lied to about it being 'in the mail'. i have screenshotted proof of it being promised three times, including in December where I was told 'next week'.

The next week, I followed up. I received a 'tracking' email, for a product that was never actually sent. It was so deceptive. Last week I'm told: "That collection is all sent out." So what I'm gathering is the dress actually never existed. And I have been absolutely conned and dragged along for nearly a year.

Then, I ordered boots in June 2023 - within the time frame allowed for waiting for the previous dress. This was part paid in cash, part paid with a voucher given to me for the dress that mysteriously disappeared prior.
The boots were promised in December, and guess bloody what... they haven't arrived, seven months later.

I was sent a $300 store credit randomly with absolutely no explanation. I don't want store credit, because your store is clearly going to go under and your clothes are worthless to me now. I don't want to buy your clothes.

I want my money, Bec. And I want it today.

I have chased and chased and constantly get palmed off. 'So sorry! I'll check! Passing it on to customer service!' and I don't get anything back.

Bec will also claim she sent me two free dresses. This is patently untrue. She sent me a dress to REPLACE a lost dress, and then 'gifted' me a dress that she allocated which comes back to me like it was such a huge favour.

Most of all, I am absolutely gutted by the treatment from Bec. How dare you treat me like an idiot? How dare you treat a loyal customer this way?

Your personal life - which I was and am sympathetic about - is not my responsibility. You continue to market your products. Continue to post your wanderlusty good vibe social posts while you have SEVERAL cases with fair trading and refuse to respond to them.

Tomorrow I will be seeking my legal options and encourage people to do the same. How they can still operate is beyond me.

5 months and STILL ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Do not order from Mahli. I have been a big supporter of theirs for YEARS and have a large amount of clothing. I place 2 orders for over $300 in August 2023, and knew it was going to be a 6-8 week wait as 1 of the orders was pre-order. It is now January, 2024 and have received nothing. Have emailed 4 times, 1 response saying I will have my orders before the ‘festive season’. That was a lie. I will never buy from this brand ever again. Save your money and shop elsewhere.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS LABEL

Yep. Same situation. I ordered an item, tried to return and got not response for weeks. Finally I was told to send back to an address and a store credit would be applied once they 'opened the store'. Attempted to reach out multiple times and no response. Now I'm $200 down with nothing. How this business is still in operation after all the complaints is beyond me...

I started my online store with Mahli…

I started my online store with Mahli the Label and what a disaster. The brand accepted my order on the stock they had online and took my payment knowing that they didn’t have it made. They then went and made it, so a two week delivery turned into me still chasing the stock after 6 months. Every email the owner said next week, and then when I got frustrated with waiting I asked for a refund. She wouldn’t refund me, and it was only when I went to the ACCC and complained about her that she started to listen. I finally got my money back after a lot of back and forth for months. Do not buy from this business, they are crooks. The owner is a criminal and needs to be stopped.

Sadly this business has gone to hell.

I initially bought boots in 2021 which arrived on time and were quite nice (ill fitting but that’s trial and error buying online).

Then Preordered boots in late March 2023. I anticipated the three month advertised wait, however nothing arrived. I was patient, and received a vague email about the shipping taking longer than expected so I thought, hey- small business, post Covid, just wait it out.
Eventually I realised that this business is a nightmare. Sales continuing, orders continuing to be taken, marketing material continuing to be sent out- but no products going out. No emails replying to my questions about estimated timeframes. No replies through social media although that was a little more responsive eventually.
Then told I’ve just had a baby, I’m trying to catch up but have needed time.
I completely understand what life is like post baby, but if you have to step away- then step right away, pause the sales, close the shop until you fulfil the orders you already have. This is why people take maternity leave, because trying to work with a newborn is impossible. Saying you are toobacklogged in emails demonstrates how many orders people are waiting on. I felt telling customers about the baby reason is a deliberate and targeted way to elicit sympathy from her client base which is nearly all women.. so people hold out and don’t request refunds. A friend who ordered the same boots was offered another product (a dress), some clothing, a partial refund which never came and THEN told she couldn’t request refund on a pre-order item 7 months later!! Thats not caring about your customers!! That’s doing everything you can to keep their money and make them wait.
If you can’t supply the product then people are legally entitled to a refund, whether it was pre-order or not. Life happens and having a baby is fantastic.
But other people’s lives shouldn’t be thrown into disarray because you had a child and decided to continue your online business knowing full well you couldn’t meet the demand. Hire someone to run it for you, or take a pause would be the fair outcome for people. It’s such a shame it went this way.
Nearly 8 months later I finally got a refund after going through PayPal and my credit card company. A ridiculous amount of effort and seems I’m only one of lots.

The owner (Bec) is a fraudster

The owner of this company (Bec) tried to scam me out of almost $400. After 11 weeks of trying to work with her and her lying through her teeth, I finally went to my bank who reccomended a dispute as they believed this was a type of fraud after I explained my situation and luckily i had a lot of proof to back myself, I finally got my money back but it was a very long process. But there’s SO many women in the same situation who are still trying to get their money back. Do not give this brand your money. If you are trying to get your money back after being scammed from this company don’t give up.
