I would avoid buying from this site

I loved what I saw online and bought a skirt for ~£250. Quite a treat to myself as I was going on a resort vacation and wanted something nice.
I ordered this 1 September and did not receive the item till 1 October, missing my vacation. Correspondence with the company sometimes took 6 days for a reply. They also sent the wrong tracking info when the item was finally shipped out.

When I finally received the item, the quality was terrible. For a £250 skirt you'd expect decent quality, but this skirt had no lining and looked cheaply made.

The return policy is shocking. Your item must get back to their warehouse within 14 days of receiving the items. This wouldn't be an issue with other stores, but with Maison Orient, it took 4 days for a shipping label after I requested the return. You need to book a pickup with DHL which took another two days, and it took 10 days for the item to reach the warehouse in Turkey. There was no way it could be returned within 14 days even if I decided within a minute of opening my package! The item reached the warehouse couple days ago and I'm unsure if I'll receive a refund at this point.

All in all, a lovely website but a disappointing reality.

Update: I did just get the refund so I'll give them that.

Unable to reach customer service and return item.

I bought a dress and an accessory online almost two weeks ago. I have yet to receive the accessory. I received the dress and want to return it. Five days ago, I emailed info at maisonorient dot com per their website return policy and no response yet. I called the customer service phone number listed on their website multiple times (1.646.592.7302) and each time I get a message that says the number cannot receive calls. Beware of this business, they seem to make it impossible to return items despite what their return policy states on their website. False and misleading.

Follow up: Maison Orient responded after I posted this review and emailed me a return label. Appreciated their response so changing review from 1 to 3 stars. However unfortunately it still took posting this review for them to respond.

Hello and we are so sorry for the inconvenience. We just sent you UPS return labels via email. We are also checking on the status of your other piece. Thank you for your feedback and we will try to fix the issues and service better next time. We handle all returns as described on our policy. Since we carry over 200 brands from 20 different countries sometimes we need to check with our partner brand where to ship the returns and yet you are right we should communicate this process better with our customers.

We are really sorry for the delay which was due to holidays in South Korea and our vendor brand's stock shortage. Our records show the bag was delivered on March 18th. We are working really hard to improve deliveries and thank you again for your feedback!

Overall good concept, but very poorly managed!

I was excited to see a platform for designers to display unique styles and designs. But management of the platform is not up to the mark
1. The delivery time does not show on the website, so I cannot use it for buying gifts that are time sensitive. I bought 2 bags. one delivered in a week and the other took 3 weeks.
2. Communication is super slow- Takes almost weeks to get a response.
3. Refund process- Its a month now and still waiting on my refund for a returned bag.
