I honestly cannot recommend Maybury Guitars enough. I ordered a Reclaimed Fish Hook fitted with hand-wound PAF Sunbear pickups. Jason has been amazing with communication, sending me plenty of photos throughout the build and involving me at every step of the process. Most importantly, though, their guitars sound incredible and are built to an exceptionally high standard. Do not hesitate.

Jason, Luthier for Maybury Guitars, has hand crafted an exceptional version of the signature Cholla off set for me.
The whole process felt personal, as he worked to create a unique instrument customised perfectly to my taste, incorporating everything I asked for in my first ever custom build. Crystal clear communication throughout the entire design and build process left me in no doubt about the status of the guitar. With frequent updates every step of the way, Jason was always on hand to answer any questions I had, or listen to any ideas about the build.
The attention to detail and quality of the instrument far surpasses any guitar I've had my hands on before, Jason sets the highest of standards for his work - and meets them.

I highly recommend Maybury Guitars for anyone looking for a custom handcrafted guitar.

The guitar plays and sounds fantastic with a pair of sunbear sabbaths. Inspired heavily by kitt trigg m who I saw demonstrate the great luthier work and continues to do so with awesome performances and songwriting. A custom cmgcustoms ties together the theme of the guitar. Awesome!

Top Quality Service

I have recently taken receipt of a Maybury Fish Hook S Upscaler. The body is constructed of reclaimed spruce and has been dyed in a stunning teal shu sugi ban finish. The body is topped off with a striking translucent pink and white pick guard. The guitar neck is made of maple and has a rosewood fretboard. The guitar is visually stunning. I have been playing the guitar over the weekend and it plays like a dream. The mojo pickups and PAF humbuckers produce a great sound. Jason Snelling is the luthier who built the guitar. The guy is a master. Throughout the guitar build Jason kept in touch and sent me photos of the build in progress. I cannot thank Jason and Maybury Guitars enough. The guitar is a 60th birthday present for myself. I will treasure it.

Jason's attention to detail is amazing and his patience, while he ensures that every aspect of your idea is realised to perfection, is second to none.

Jason has built me 2 guitars, a 12-string semi-acoustic affectionalty known as the GreenHawk (its on his site) along with a stunning single P90 Junior Hawk, which I took delivery as of teh date of this review (roughly).

Choice of woods, idea suggestions and amazing finishing make Maybury gfuitars the only one I will use for custom builds.

Jason is currently building me a Double Hawk of my own design (Yes I have a thing for Nighthawks 🤣 ), which I will review here in due course.

I was after a specific custom bass and after ringing what felt like ever luthier in the country, i finally spoke to Jason at Maybury. After i ran down to him what i was looking for and after a moment of deep thought on his part one word made me use him, the word was “Yes”.
What he made for me was exactly what i had in mind when i first envisioned the instrument. He fully involved me in the construction process at every step of the way. He accommodated every request i had, despite one or two being seemingly odd, and consulted me on every detail of her construction. I can’t say enough or give him enough praise as to how he took my design and construction requests and understood what i was wanting, it was almost as though he saw my vision exactly as i did. Now i have a custom 5 string bass that almost makes me weep with joyful gratitude. The finished product is every bit as good as i hoped she would be and Jason, thank you for being the one to bring what was once a fantasy to life. To anybody whom may be on the fence about pulling the trigger regarding a custom guitar, get on the phone to Maybury and ask for Jason, i promise you that you will not be disappointed \m/

He even added his own extras to make this a very special experience for me.
I love his whole ethos and am happy to support great British talent like his.

Jason is an outstanding craftsman and a patient, conscientious businessman. I had very specific, difficult requirements for a guitar. He paid perfect attention to every single request, no matter how small, often replying right away to detailed concerns.

Jason built me an Upscaler to my requirement; S-type Fishhook, twin P-90s, locking tuners, red shoi sugi ban finish.
I picked it up from Maybury HQ; Jason made me feel very welcome and we basically talked guitars for an hour. I was invited to play other guitars through his great selection of amps. Lovely guy.
The guitar he built for me is excellent and so so playable to the extent that I never want to put it down - it's resonant and feels alive. At time of writing I've gigged it twice and it sounds great; tonally flexible (the Black Dove pickups work so well), and really punchy when needed.

What can I say. I will absolutely cherish my new guitar from Maybury. Jason invited me into his home to jam on his collection of guitars that he made. I tried his amps and pedals and there was no pressure to buy anything. The guitar I purchased wasn’t actually for sale but Jason sold it to me regardless. My experience was first class and I’d highly recommend Maybury guitars. The guitar I bought is an absolute gem, something very special indeed.

Solid quality build and finish from a tech wizard who went to the scrupulous Crimson Guitars to perfect his passion and able to deliver very swiftly and efficiently in equal precision whether you prefer the dainty posh or rough punk outlook, because that is the whole point of a custom build. All that for a quite reasonable cost and topped with awesome people skill :-) Thank you Jason!

After being unable to find what I was looking for from other brands I decided that a custom built guitar was my best option and discovery Maybury guitars online.

Jason worked with me to come up with a design that was within my budget and had all of the features that I was looking for. Being someone with limited technical knowledge of guitar parts, Jason provided me with excellent advise on which parts to go for in order to maximize my budget for the best build.

The handmade neck on the guitar was made to my exact specifications, has an increadibly smooth finish and looks fantastic.
