I am very happy with the care I received from menopause care staff they were very helpful and pleasant. And the doctor I spoke to was excellent as always very knowledgeable and supportive.

Had a fantastic doctor, Dr Sarah Houghton who listens, advices brilliantly and is thorough with her explanations. Couldn’t wish for anyone else to help me along this perimenopause journey.

I highly recommend Dr Buttal for an online consultation. She was very thorough in her preparation for the appointment, spoke through all my questions with knowledge and current understanding about all the latest research for HRT which was the primary reason for my appointment and was able to signpost me to updating my HRT which I am more confident about using.

Doctor genuinely interested in the whole picture, gave me time to discuss all my concerns, explained things clearly and was very easy to speak to. Great follow up with my GP as well. An investment worth making.

I spoke to Jane for a complimentary discovery call and I’m so glad I did. She was friendly, welcoming and so, so helpful. She answered all of my questions and helped me understand the different options I could take. I felt respected, unhurried, and able to make a fully informed decision.

I’ve booked my first appointment now, whereas otherwise I probably would’ve gone back and forth for several days in indecision. It’s given me a really positive impression of Menopause Care, right from the very beginning.

The team from Menopause care are excellent. I am dealing with complex medical issues and I went to them as I wanted to have time and space to talk to a GP with expertise. I felt listened to and most importantly I felt cared for by the doctor I have now met once a year for two years. The follow up is excellent and the admin team always answer quickly. I saw Helen today and I cannot believe how incredible this service is.

I have fought for two years with my local GP surgery and medical professionals to get treatment and when they did step in they would not support testosterone. The symptoms were so severe I had to leave my job as an OT, I have been on the sofa for two years, unable to even go out with my daughter. I had loss of identity purpose and motivation and no libido. I have suffered so much before coming here.

This service truly cares and I will forever be grateful for them listening to me and genuinely caring. I have now been prescribed what I need. I now plan to rebuild my life one step at a time. Helen Thank you you've saved my life xxx

It was a great consultation. It was thorough; I had all the time I needed to ask questions and go through the different possibilities. I learned about my condition, and it was helpful.

From my initial 15 minute informative discussion to my 45 minute in-depth doctors appointment my concerns and symptoms were discussed and a management plan implemented. Knowing I was being understood and they had the experience to know what was going on with me

I had a 45 min online consultation with Dr in clinic. I had a full holistic consultation exploring all aspects & the different impact it was having on every aspect of life. I was offered a few different treatment options & all the information was provided to the DR rationale. The nhs feels very broken right now around menopause care

On the positive side, I do not doubt the expertise of the doctor I saw, and in fact, I was impressed. Also, once I spoke to someone about the problem I had, it was dealt with as well as possible and quickly.

However, I have already had a difficult time seeking effective treatment for my menopause symptoms for various reasons and was hopeful that things would be different in respect of a company which clearly prides itself on taking a supportive approach and helping (peri)menopausal women seeking treatment. Therefore, I felt let down by the following issues:
1. A failure in the prescribing of my medication. I had no response to an email enquiring about this so after 48 hours from the time of emailing, I followed up with a call. It is only then that anyone was aware that nothing had happened with the prescription. If I had not chased, nothing would have happened. It means that it will have taken over a week from the appointment to get my medication. That may sound like a small amount of time but when you're struggling, it's not.
2. Lack of clarity about the cost of the medication (at the time of writing I still have no idea how much it will cost).

So, not all bad but, I'm left feeling frustrated as I had high hopes and expectations which were not met. I also think if I were more vulnerable, how would I have handled the prescription issue? Would I have had the energy to deal with it? Would it not be easier to discuss whether your own GP should manage the prescription?

I had a pre-planned telephone call with Jane. She called on time and was professional, knowledgeable and very kind. She was able to answer my questions and make some helpful suggestions of how the clinic might be able to help. I would highly recommend.
