Reply to dress incident

This is not meant to be a negative rate ,I appreciate your reply with regards the dress .
However the matter could ov been sorted out better.

This is not a reflection on the quality of your clothing range hence the 5 stars ,it the customer services and returns procedure,

With reference to my previous review my daughter didn’t know anything about it .I disappointed in the way you’ve handle the situation.
I’m entitled to leave my opinion , the fact that my granddaughter was a rep for your business .
The dress had not been worn ,you were informed about the return via email ,we were 1 day over the 14 days deadline ,then you send my daughter a unfriendly message
I have read the message you sent to my daughter unprofessional.
We have done nothing wrong for you to react the way you have.

I'm a little taken aback that you've resorted to leaving a second review on behalf of your daughter - especially when, in your words, your "daughter didn't know anything about it". It's so damaging to a small family business like ours, especially when we're not at fault.

Of course you're more than welcome to leave your opinion - if you're a customer who has had a genuine experience with our business, however, you're not, your daughter is. As per Trustpilot's guidelines:

"Our Guidelines for Reviewers set out that you can review a business if you've had a recent, genuine experience with them. It could be:

- You bought something
- You ordered something (even if the order was cancelled!)
- You had a phone conversation, email correspondence, or online chat
- You visited a store
- You otherwise used the business's products or services

What other requirements are there?
As well as making sure you fit one of the above situations, make sure your review is:

- Only about your own experience - not someone else's"

As your grandchild was a brand rep for us in the past we were trying to be as accommodating as possible, even though the item was returned to us outside of our policy: the item was sent back to us two days outside of our 14 day policy, and was then received by us the next day, 3 days outside of our policy, with no tags attached. As explained in my reply on your previous review, and in my messages to your daughter, we cannot resell a garment as new with no tags attached.

I am incredibly sorry if you feel my reply to your daughter was unfriendly or unprofessional as I was in no way trying to be either, so I can only apologise if she has been left feeling hurt because of this as that was never my intention.

My parcels from Millie&John are always the ones I’m most excited to receive! They are always delivered quickly. They are wrapped so beautifully and with so much care. It shows what a fabulous small business this is from the care put into it! The products are always fantastic quality, that’s why I keep going back for more!

Quality clothing.
Delivered promptly after a very slight issue not having the original size I requested however everything was dealt with quickly and product was embroidered to a high standard

I'm so sorry that you're not happy with our response. I've just personally read through yours and my colleagues email thread and I feel as though they were very apologetic and helpful, so I can only apologise if you don't feel this way.

As explained by my colleague, as the hole (which appeared to be the end of the yarn that hadn't been tied together properly when manufactured, upon further inspection) was directly behind the pom pom we would not have seen it when picking and packing it. We will now be wary of this when packing future orders with pom poms, as we'd hate for this to happen to another customer.

I can see we received a follow up email from yourself on the evening of Bank Holiday Monday stating that you thought you'd have heard back from us that day, however, as it was a bank holiday we didn't return to work until the following day, Tuesday 30th August, whereupon we replied straight away at 10:06am, and have not yet received a reply. I can only apologise if this is why you're very disappointed with our response, however, we did reply as soon as we possibly could.

Regarding the payment of customs fees, this is something that is completely out of our control. We are very sympathetic to customers who are charged by their country's local customs authority, as we appreciate how frustrating it can be, however, we did advise that, in your case, both your parcels should not have had VAT applied as baby clothes are 0 VAT rated in your country, and as such we would recommend querying this with your local customs authority.

We're still awaiting your reply to our last email, once you do so we can proceed with resolving the issue of postage costs.

I hope this clears up any misgivings you might have towards our response, as my colleague was trying to be as helpful as possible, and I look forward to hearing back from you.
