Best shop in Bexleyheath

I paid the price of an iPad Pro to learn this lesson—never trust someone just because they're offering something cheap and convenient. The shop might offer plenty of excuses, but I want to share my personal experience so others can avoid the same mistake.

Last October, I broke the screen on my iPad. In my rush to get it fixed, I visited this shop to get a quote. The initial price was very high, so I mentioned that I might check with other shops, especially since some larger chains seemed to offer better rates. The owner quickly warned me that other shops use poor-quality screens and then offered me a lower price for an "original" screen, which he claimed was basically the same as what Apple would use. The offer was tempting, and he promised I could have my iPad back the next day, so I agreed. However, when I asked for a receipt, he didn’t provide a proper one and insisted on cash only. He assured me that I could return anytime if there were any issues with the repair.

Two days passed without any updates, and I was eventually told that the repair wasn’t done in-house but sent to a "factory" for third-party repair. When I received it, I noticed a label with Chinese characters on the screen - the screen wasn't original. Being a woman and feeling uncomfortable arguing further, I reluctantly accepted it. However, the repair quality was poor, with glue marks all along the edges.

Over the following months, I noticed the screen wasn’t properly attached but didn’t dare return to the shop. I continued using the imperfect iPad until last night—August—when I placed it on my Keyboard and, without doing anything, the screen detached due to the failed glue, causing it to fall and damaging the internal wires.

Since the owner had said I could return anytime within a year if there were issues, my boyfriend and I decided to visit the shop today. However, the owner quickly shirked responsibility, refusing to repair the damage and shifting the blame onto us. His attitude was extremely rude, leading to a heated argument. He also mentioned that despite our complaints, plenty of “stupid” people still come to him for repairs, so he didn’t see our issues as problem.

His excuses were:
- the glue couldn’t possibly fail - something anyone with basic knowledge knows is untrue. Even super glue can lose its grip.
- he insisted the screen couldn’t detach on its own, yet that’s exactly what happened while my iPad was standing.
- he claimed that over a year had passed since the repair, which isn’t true. It hadn’t even been a full year.
- he said he was only responsible for replacing the screen and, that the damaged wires weren’t his fault. However, the wires were clearly damaged because the screen wasn’t properly attached.

We then took the iPad to a proper repair shop, and the technician identified multiple issues with the original repair:

- The screen was not original, despite the shop's claim.
- They used glue to attach the screen, which is completely inappropriate; they should have used adhesive from the replacement screen.
- Magnets were missing.
- Bits of glass from the old smashed screen were still visible on the edge.

To anyone reading this: if you’ve had a repair done here without issues, consider yourself lucky. But if you end up in a situation like mine, don’t expect any follow-up or accountability from this shop. They’ll simply blame you. My advice is not to rush or be swayed by cheap prices. Maybe buy accessories like screen protectors from them, but never trust them with repairs—they may not even provide you with a decent replacement.
