Motherland Connect is the travel agency my university used on our school trips to South Africa and Kenya Spring 2023.

Our March 2023 trip to South Africa was canceled 3 days before departure. The cancellation was devastating and to make matters worse Motherland Connect refused to be communicative about issuing the refund in a timely manner and customers were met with excuses, the refund was not issued until legal action was mentioned.

The May 2023 trip to Kenya fortunately did happen. Unfortunately mine and other students' names were missed on the flight booking which led to massive delays for departure. Misspelling passengers' names on an international flight is inexcusable for a travel agency.

When leaving Kenya there was an issue with my flight and British Airways had a clerical error and I was forced to buy another ticket. When I tried to contact Motherland Connect they were unable to assist me in real time. When I tried to get my refund from British Airways, Motherland Connect was unhelpful.

Aside from the lack of communication prior to the trip Motherland Connect never sent an tentative itinerary for the trip and took over 60 days to issue the refund, when they said it would be issued within 60 days.

I have been on international trips with over 50 students, I have planned and led my own international trips and the lack of professionalism from Motherland Connect is unacceptable for this industry. I would never travel with them again or trust my loved ones to go on a trip they organized.

Honestly was one of the best experiences of my life

This was a great experience!!! Met a lot of great people and and a wonderful time. It is a lifetime experience that gives you a new outlook of the world. Going on this amazing trip shows you a whole new perspective on the world!!

Nobody does it better than Motherland Connect. I have been with this group twice and everytime it is a movie.

Best experience of my life. Great deal! The headache that usually comes with traveling was instantly alleviated with the copious pre trip directions and extensive iternitary, that was sent weeks before the trip. All questions were answered same day, and always went safe and in good hands. There was also a good balance between having fun and learning the culture, which is most important. I would and have been recommending to everyone I know. I’m thinking about participating next year as well!
