I'm from Germany (Berlin) and went to Mountain Warehouse in Harpenden for advice on hiking boots. The advice and support was excellent. My feet are wide and I have hallux valgus. Wide hiking shoes were specially ordered for me from another shop, which the manager personally picked up at the post office so that I could pick them up in time. I went hiking in Switzerland (Zermatt) with my boyfriend, who also bought hiking boots from the shop. The shoes are super comfortable. Many thanks for your great service! We will be back!
Easy walking boots exchange
I bought a pair of walking boots in January 22. Really liked them but after four months they started to split at the sole. They've had a fair amount of use but even so I expected them to last longer. Without my receipt I returned them to Mountain Warehouse Solihull thinking they would probably say no to an exchange - not true - exchanged without any problems, and new boots delivered to my door within a couple of days. Really good customer service.
Hugely dissapointing experience
Ordered two chairs £100, took my money and 6 days later decided that my chairs weren't in stock and are refunding to my card which will take up to 5 days. So they have had £100 of my hard earned and are holding on to it for a week and a half. Why take the money if you don't have the items. They have given me a discount code "20DELAY" which should give 20% off - try it if you are buying something. I certainly will not be using them again!
They seem to have overpromised
They seem to have overpromised on what they can deliver in their most recent sale.
I ordered a few products and my parcel was delivered (slowly…) with one item missing. I emailed them immediately to enquire. Two weeks later, no response. I emailed them again. Later that day I received an email from PayPal to inform me I had received a partial refund. Guess I’m not getting that item then?!
It’s really rude, I’d have thought a missing item that has been paid for is at least worth an email response to the customer explaining the issue and apologising. To be completely ignored (one month later I still haven’t heard from them) is a kick in the teeth, and I’ve had to scurry about trying to find what I needed from another shop.

Misleading advertising…
A big poster in the Islington Mountain Warehouse window claims that you will get extra 20%. Inside the shop next to the item I wanted to buy, a notice of 50% price crash. However, at the till, these discounts did not materialise! If not for these misleading advertisements, I would have bought a few items in the shop.
Does this comply with the trade description act?

Poor quality kids shoes
Poor quality kids shoes. After 3months wear, the velcro is badly worn, the top of the toe is destroyed and the sole has worn down so quickly, there is a hole at the toe! They claim to be isodry but they are going in the bin, as they are leaking water. Waste of £20. Won’t be going back! Should’ve paid more to a reputable harder wearing brand!

Pretty disappointing service
Pretty disappointing service - told items are in stock - ordered with next day service. It's now end of the day, two days later I still don't have. That's after the previous order being cancelled on me. Rubbish service.

Mountain Warehouse are absolutely wonderful to buy from. Their returns are prompt and you are constantly notified about every little detail. Call centre staff are excellent too. I cannot praise them enough - I only wish all companies were as good as Mountain Warehouse.
Another company who need chasing when…
Another company who need chasing when you have returned online purchases and expect them to fulfil their obligations to refund your money in 14 days of receipt. Told it probably hadn't been processed at the warehouse yet. Surely not that difficult, or hoping that customers forget to chase? Annoying. Did refund promptly when emailed but so irritating with these online companies that you have to badger them to get your money back for a return.

I strongly advise you dont order anything online from this company as you will not get it or it will take ages.
They will quote "Problems at The Warehouse" and just give you a load of automated supplies.
I cancelled my order and had th threaten legal action to get a refund.

Today I rang the Tillicoultry branch, spoke to John. He did not have the size of trousers I was looking for . He suggested I went on line. He said he would look for the correct code I needed and would ring me back.
This he did and was able to place an order.

Unreliable delivery times
Delivery is really slow and despite paying for express delivery my order took longer than 2 days to get to me. Luckily customer service was on it and was able to cancel my order! I would not order again from them.
Incorrect amounts for refund
Sent off a return. Got the refund today, but for completely random amounts which don't match what I paid. I have queried it of course, but had I not looked at it closely I'd have lost that money. Don't trust them at all now - won't order again.

We came shopping to buy some waterproof trousers and tops for grandchildren. The staff were excellent with advice and available choices. They couldn't have been more helpful and made the experience a pleasure. Because of that, I will be returning. Thank you.
