Insurance claim made easy

Insurance claim made easy; I paid the excess direct to vet and vet did the rest ans was paid directly by the insurance company. I had been a little confused about which claim form to download but that was easily answered by a quick call to customer support.

Unfortunately, any charges your vets add to your bill for administration services are not covered within your policy. You are however able to submit the claim to us directly in the future to help you avoid these future charges.

Very impressed with speed and communication…

Making a claim when your pet is unwell is always stressful in addition to what you are going through already. The process to start the claim with Muddy Paws was incredibly easy and I was kept informed of each stage of the process and who was investigating the claim. I tend to move insurers each year but this claim has been very smooth and I would be happy to remain with Muddy Paws in the future. My dog Suzie has since made a full recovery and the funds were reimbursed quickly. Would highly recommend Muddy Paws. Thank you

Claiming was easy and fast

I had to make a claim for multiple surgeries that my dog needed. Setting up the claim online was really easy, and it was approved and paid out very fast. I didn't need to speak to anyone over the phone (although I could if I had wanted to), and I wasn't out of pocket for very long.

Master Alan

Although my insurance is costly due to Alan's existing conditions I cannot fault the process from claim to payment including expensive direct vet payments which I have used for the first this year, it was approved on the day of treatment and specific guide issued to the vet regarding limitations was explained. The customer service team have always been really helpful, polite and caring and acknowledge your emails promptly.
5 star review without hesitation.

Kept me up to date and claim came through promptly!

Kept me up to date and claim came through in good time. They liaised directly with the vet so I didn’t need to do anything. Happy with them as a provider for my cat insurance.

Watch your premium

We made one small claim and our premium went from £500 a year to £1500 a year. They take ripoff to whole new levels

A shock!

We originally insured our dog with Vets MediCover, but in December 2024 our policy was taken over by Muddy paws. From that point on, everything changed — and not for the better.

Muddy Paws completely altered the terms of our existing insurance policy. Despite years of monthly payments, they now expect me to may for the full premium after our dog passed away, which is shocking in itself.
This is outrageous and something we have never encountered with any pet insurance provider before.

To make matters worse, they began chasing us for money one week after Belle died, insisting that we pay the outstanding premium.

The money they owed me for vet bills and chemo they have not refunded, as I owed them!

This whole experience has been incredibly stressful and deeply unfair. The lack of transparency, changing of policy terms, and unreasonable financial demands make this company impossible to trust.

I have never known a pet insurance company operate like this. In my opinion, this feels like an absolute joke.

We are very sorry to hear you are not happy with the terms set out by the insurer when your policy renewed with us. We can confirm that your renewal invitation provided to you all of the key changes that would be made to your policy upon your renewal date. This does include the premium payable when you have made successful claims in that policy period. Absolutely abysmal customer service.

Absolutely abysmal. I recieved an email from them about my payments ending after 11 months, so I sent them an email 3 weeks ago to ask for information. Nothing. Now I actually cant be sure that I am still insured with them, and I am sure I will get the generic: "a manager will be in contact blah blah." I'm really not sure why it takes so much effort to get information from them. They never, NEVER, forget to take my money...

Having looked into your records, I can confirm that we responded to your original email the following morning of 21st Jan 2026. Can we kindly ask you to check that this has not landed in your junk folder, and if so, please mark our email address as an approved sender to avoid any future issues. If you still cannot see our email, please contact us on 0121 308 8685 so we can confirm your email address is correct and provide you with a copy of our original email back to you.

We will have also sent you additional emails such as your renewal invitation and renewal documents so please do check to make sure they have been received correctly.

Any policies that are paid on a monthly basis will automatically renew and the email you will have received from Go Cardless is to confirm that your current policy period had been paid in full. Once your policy renews, you will then receive another payment schedule outlining your future payments for the next period of insurance.
