Less than one star

Less than one star. They missed a massive crack in my radiator and all of the leaks from my air condition system and didn’t top up coolant etc etc etc.

My car ls nice to drive

Mycar Cairns City ordered and fitted the less expensive car parts that are available. This saved me money and my car feels nice to drive. I think Mycar should offer any less expensive, quality part available without my having to request it. Repairs and servicing are getting more expensive.

Positive customer service

Great customer service and communication through out the day. Advised and identified additional problems but gave the option to add to my logbook service along with a quote. They were positive, happy and ensured my service as a priority as he knew I had a 4 hour drive back home to Cooktown. Will definitely go back for all my servicing and have already advised others to do the same.

Great Service

Quick, friendly, and hassle-free service at My Car Cairns. Went in to change all four tyres and was in and out in no time. The team was professional and made the whole experience easy—highly recommend!

I was not asked what kind of service I wanted so even though I left the log book on the passenger seat they did a normal service. They refused to sign the log book.
At 8.59am they phoned me to say the car was ready. I presented myself in their office 5 minutes later to be told I needed a wheel alignment. I agreed to it. Minutes later they said my bill was ready and I paid this by CC at 9.18am. They charged me for a normal service and $89 for wheel alignment. Later I queried this as I got no typed report - apparently the printer was broken and the time for alignment very short
I was refunded $89 but only after threatening get head office involved. This happened in March 2026.

Customer service was excellent from start to finish

I had a great experience with this mechanic shop. The team was professional, honest, and clearly very knowledgeable about what they were doing. They took the time to explain the issue with my car in simple terms and didn’t try to upsell unnecessary repairs, which I really appreciated. The work was completed quickly and at a fair price, and my car has been running perfectly since. Customer service was excellent from start to finish — friendly staff, clear communication, and they made the whole process easy and stress-free. It’s not always easy to find a mechanic you can trust, but this shop definitely earned my confidence. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and high-quality automotive service. I’ll definitely be coming back for future maintenance. ( shop located in Mount Sheridan, Cairns)

Extremely Disappointed with RWC Process

Extremely Disappointed with RWC Process

I took my 2010 Toyota RAV4 to MyCar Cairns for a Roadworthy Certificate inspection. On the day, I was provided with a repair list totalling $1,286.50.
Some of the quoted items raised concerns:
- Headlight polishing quoted at $89 – I purchased a kit from - Autobarn for $30 and completed it myself.
- Top right engine mount quoted at $389 – I bought the same part from Repco Cairns for $230.
- Two rear shocks quoted at $155 each – I purchased both shocks from Repco for $150 total (only one was actually leaking).

After replacing the engine mount and rear shocks (done by another mechanic), I returned within two weeks. I was then told I needed:
- Left steering rack end ($95)
- Another wheel alignment ($89)
With labour, this would likely total around $250 which I was prepared to accept.

However, midway through the second visit, I was called and informed that:
- The spare tyre must be replaced ($230)
- One light was not working
- Rear wiper blade needed replacing

This added approximately another $300 on top of what had already been quoted.

At this stage, it felt like new issues were continuously being added.

For comparison, my partner also took her 2014 Nissan X-Trail there for an RWC. She was quoted $3,105 for repairs. She then took the vehicle to a reputable independent mechanic, who quoted $780 total, including repairs and the Roadworthy Certificate.

The difference between quotes was significant.

Based on my experience, I will not be returning there for any kind of service.

I am happy to provide copies of the quotes for transparency.

Very off-hand attitude when I got new…

Very off-hand attitude when I got new tyres.

Front tyre was rubbing after fitting new tyres.
When I went in to tell about this I was told it could not be anything they did and offered to have a look two days later.

Excellent service and communication. The team were short staffed, but Shug ensured the service was completed on time and kept me updated of all additional items required and pricing. The team were very efficient and friendly.
