The hype is real. MYOB is trying to become the worst company of the year by providing the worst customer service in Australia. As a matter of fact, I couldn't get them to provide ANY customer service. One request unresolved, another case just closed without any feedback. Bad, bad, BAD !!!

Been waiting on the phone for over 1.5 hours to cancel a subscription

MYOB regularly increases their product costs so once you have signed up for a subscription be prepared for steadily escalating costs.
But what is really annoying is that this company makes it difficult to cancel subscriptions. You have to be willing to persist beyond the first rounds with the terse sounding AI agent (has MYOB listened to the tone of their agent - she sounds like she did not want to show up to work at all and is frustrated with the caller before you even begin!)
and then sit on hold for an extraordinary amount of time for what should be a simple process to cancel a basic subscription in order to speak to an agent. They definitely require you to be persistent and patient and have plenty of spare time if you want to exit a product or subscription.
Compared with my experience with the Rounded business accounting platform which has been consistently excellent and customer centric it is a disappointing experience to deal with MYOB.

The charging is a mess. They charge you randomly each month, and sometimes the system just blacks out. Now I want to cancel my subscription, but the only option is to call them. I called, and the AI asked me a bunch of questions. Then I waited for ages, but no human ever picked up. I can’t even cancel the subscription, and they just keep charging me. What a scam.

To be honest, I was reluctant to give them 1 star. I have used business right online then off line for years. In June has been forced to purchases business lite due to their new policy. After payment I haven’t received any product serial number and nothing appeared in my account. So I am not able to using this products. I have submitted application for support few times and called many times, but no one contacted me, The last request I sent to them was one month ago. I don’t know what I should do now. I don’t understand why government would this kind of business still up for running. I will tell everyone do not purchase MYOB again.
The call waiting time as long as 3 hours in June, now it down to today’s one hour. I have waited 45 min, and determined to wait 1 hour, hope I can talk to a real person today.

Absolutely atrocious customer service. An hour to get phone support then they may you wait more. Glitchy system that makes super payments complicated. They only offer support when trying to charge you to migrate data from another program. DO NOT RECOMMEND

I would not use MYOB at all. They do not care about the customers. I’ve spent our days 2 1/2 months trying to resolve one issue with nothing but just transfer the transfer no callbacks no communication. It’s disgusting.

Disastrous Consequences
We changed from Quickbooks to MYOB in 2023. We were offered 2 years free migration as part of the deal to come over to MYOB. We only wanted 1 year migration and we were told its 2 years or its nothing and my experience now tells me why that is the case.
MMC Convert are an Indian based specialist accounting data conversion business apparently owned by Ankit Mehta. MYOB take NO RESPONSIBILITY for the pain MMC Convert potentially could inflict on your business so BEWARE!
After 2 attempts and 6 months to convert our data between the two platforms we were left with an entire file of transactions that had the incorrect GST codes, dropped banked reconciliations, absence of transaction data, manually manipulated transaction data etc etc. You have to give MMC Convert permissions and passwords to your company file so the migration can take place.
The QA: QA is confirmed on the migration by comparison of the chart of accounts for both files. Chart of accounts match - file is successfully migrated, right?
Well, how is that possible when transactions have been altered from original, GST and taxes are imported in the incorrect category or not at all, how could the chart of account possibly match?
Well this is why more years than you actually need, must be imported. Upon having to reconcile our bank statements gain and fix every single migrated transaction imported, we would frequently find transactions witht he incorrect date on them. Dates from the same financial year yet nonetheless a different date. Change the date, fix the tax category and type in the transaction description again for every transaction and you are done after 18 months right?
Well you get to the 31st December on your bank statement and you have 2 transactions to reconcile and you find over 400 transactions in your company file for the same date??? On investigation, these transaction were brought over from many previous financial years, years not even agreed to be migrated. Delete these and your chart of accounts suddenly don't match?
Read into this the obvious conclusion and Buyer Beware. 3 years later and hundreds of thousands of dollars spent repairing the problem. MYOB couldnt care less. MMC Convert is another company not MYOB so they are powerless to help. International Courts are real helpful in bringing Indian Companies to bear on civil matters?? Don't expect any help from anyone including an accountant or book keeper and even if they could help fixing tens of thousands of transaction entries what would that cost look like? You can't miraculously fix entries altered in the background at the source code once it has already been reported to the ATO such as STP transactions so what to do?
Don't expect the ATO to help, not even to hold MYOB to account, not to tell them to cease and desist from putting other Australian Companies at risk by using MMC Convert. Don't expect the machine that is the ATO to have any empathy for the situation that you are in, they will give you some time, but the lack of understanding of the reality you face or the time it might take to remedy is void of any common sense or empathy at an organisation level.
The situation is a total disgrace! Don't even write a Trustpilot review about MMC Convert, you will get an email full of diatribe from Ankit trying to gaslight you that your experience was not as you suggested and that the review was unfair. Well in Ankits case he dealt with me personally so could not avoid the many emails and zoom meetings back and forth and the evidence complied against his fraudulent business and no surprise the communication has gone silent again.
Not sure how this happens to so many Australian business owners with this company with all the protections we are supposed to enjoy under the law. BEWARE, you have been warned, if only I was not one of the lone rangers in this MYOB experiment and I had the luxury of some other experience to warn me before falling down this hole my life would be a little different today.

I am absolutely appalled by MYOB customer service in all areas. Firstly sales was quick to the mark sending a quote over to my email so they could quickly get my direct debit details. Secondly all I wanted to do was upgrade to the next version which was called premier. I have used MYOB for 30 YEARS!!! Instead they set me up with now 2 subscriptions and tell me to wait 5 days to delete my old serial number and a message to say I cannot enter any new data entries as they will be wiped. I finally get the email saying to backup file and send to migrate to the new license. I am so annoyed I don't wish to even bother now as how long before i can use this new version of myob. I have read from someone else it was weeks. I have other staff members that need to use this also. I am currently on hold to cancel this stupid second subscription they decided to give me even though i said many times on my call I just want to upgrade. Wake up guys.....get your act together. Let's see how long I'll be on the phone today just to cancel what should be one click to cancel a subscription. The more I write this the more aggravated I'm getting!

the company is very happy to manage subscription online, until you want to cancel it. Then they only way to do so is to call their call centre. Currently on hold over an hour and waiting. Will be lodging dispute through the credit card the payment is coming from to prevent further payments being deducted. Deceptive business practices when you can not cease a monthly subscription

MYOB has been an horrific experience. We used to use AccountRight offline, which was an easy, intuitive software, and offline. Days prior to 1/7/26 MYOB advised when trying to open our datafile that we could no longer use this and had to use a paid subscription version. We were forced to sign up and chose MYOB Business Pro. Online support is nonexistent. This was a nightmare from the start. Customer invoices aren't being sent and apparently this is because noreply@myob is regularly filtered out by Google as spam. Reporting is difficult with customer information not being displayed at all. We're told to keep deleting browser data or move to incognito mode but nothing works. I haven't been able to login to MYOB at all since yesterday and we have a lot of data entry. Because I'm not as yet the primary contact I can't arrange to set up 2FA using my mobile. I lodged the required forms last night (primary contact form and ASIC information for the company) but was told although these have been received this needs to go to a MYOB team and there is no timeframe. MYOB has been extortionist and arrogant throughout this whole experience. I'm regretting very much not changing over to Xero or just about anyone else. Think very carefully if you're considering moving to MYOB online.

I am still dealing with the incompetency of this business. Called to change my plan as we no longer use and was told I could get 90% discounted rate and would only be $15 a month instead of $165. Changed over and then to my surprise they deducted $330 in one hit the next month like wtf. Called then to sort out and get refund but you can’t speak to anyone in accounts and never resolved. Then 3 months later August 1 they deducted 2 payments of $165 again called in the Monday and a week later still have not had a call back from anyone and issue is still unresolved . It’s a joke I want all my money refunded . They can take it out incorrectly but trying to get your money back for them not doing their job properly is a nightmare. Worst customer service ever it’s beyond a joke I’m seeking legal advice

I spent 2 hours waiting for their online chat, to spend another 2 hours waiting for their phone chat.
I can't believe their customer service, it's so bad, everyone I talked to had the attitutde of that's just how it is. That didn't last at all, I cancelled same day.

Our experience with MYOB was bad enough that we ultimately abandoned the platform and moved our business accounting to Xero.
The problems started when MYOB began displaying accounting information that appeared fundamentally inconsistent. We experienced duplicated transfer behaviour, incorrect balances, Banking Hub balances that did not align with the General Ledger, and balances that appeared to persist despite the underlying transactions being deleted or corrected.
At one point, we had an account where the General Ledger showed no underlying transactions while MYOB's Banking Hub continued displaying a balance. We have screenshots and records documenting the behaviour we experienced.
What followed was arguably worse than the original system problem.
We first contacted MYOB support on 4 May 2026. After receiving no meaningful assistance, we followed up on 6 May. We then lodged a detailed formal complaint on 8 May setting out the problems, the troubleshooting already undertaken and the impact on the business.
That complaint was chased again on 12 May and 16 May.
Still no meaningful resolution.
By approximately 18 May, we had lost confidence in both the accounting platform and MYOB's ability to support it, so we started moving our business to Xero. That meant manually migrating information and subsequently working back through our records to validate and reconcile them from 1 July 2025.
MYOB finally provided a substantive response on 27 May — more than three weeks after our initial support request and after we had already started leaving the platform.
Their explanation was remarkable. MYOB admitted in writing:
"We've been working through an internal issue that affected how some support requests were routed and monitored, and your enquiry was one of those impacted."
So while we were spending more than 20 hours reviewing transactions, deleting and recreating transfers, re-linking transactions, checking bank feeds, reviewing the General Ledger, comparing actual CBA and Wise balances, reviewing historical balances month by month and trying to determine what was wrong, our requests for help were apparently caught up in MYOB's own internal support-routing problem.
When a response finally arrived, much of it consisted of generic reconciliation advice — precisely the type of troubleshooting we had already spent hours undertaking.
The eventual response to our complaint acknowledged that MYOB had failed to manage our support requests and complaint properly. MYOB accepted that there had been a delay acknowledging the complaint, that we had not received timely ownership or meaningful updates, and that its internal routing and monitoring issue had affected our case.
Their proposed resolution?
A refund of $60.01 in subscription fees.
That completely misses the point.
The real cost was the enormous amount of business time wasted trying to investigate an accounting system we could no longer rely upon, repeatedly chasing support that was not responding, and then manually migrating and reconciling our records with another provider.
Accounting software sits at the heart of a business's financial records. When something appears seriously wrong, responsive and competent support is not an optional extra.
Our experience with MYOB was the opposite.
A system we lost confidence in, support requests that went effectively nowhere, a formal complaint that required repeated chasing, an admitted internal failure in MYOB's own support process, and ultimately enough disruption that we moved the entire business to another accounting provider.
Based on our experience, I could not recommend MYOB to another small business.

Cancelling is deliberately difficult AVOID THIS COMPANY
From last year of trying to cancel. No online cancellation option availeble, you need to call certain number. It is delebrately made very hard. Only phone call. i called them so many time repeatedly. Many times I waited 20 minutes/ 30 minutes even an hour, to be told the wait was another 2 hours or more. Their callbacks come from numbers that show up as suspected number, they will call you only (one time) anytime with suprise. You will be busy doing something later you will find out they called you. Payments keep coming out for software I haven't used in years. they keep deducting fee.
Signing up took two minutes. Cancelling has taken year for me and still isn't done. Draw your own conclusions.
Avoid this company at any cost. Its not worth.

Extremely Frustrating Cancellation Process
I have not used MYOB for several years, but unfortunately I forgot to cancel my subscription. For the past three or four months, I have repeatedly tried to cancel it and stop further payments from being deducted from my account.
I have called several times and spent a very long time waiting on hold, but I have been unable to speak to anyone who could properly assist me. To be fair, MYOB has also tried to call me back a few times, but the calls appeared as suspected spam, and I was either busy or unable to answer.
My next payment is now due to be deducted within days, and I am once again struggling to cancel the subscription. MYOB should provide a simple online cancellation option through the customer account. Instead, customers are forced to call, wait on hold, get transferred, or contact another department.
Cancelling a subscription should not be this unnecessarily difficult, time-consuming and frustrating. This has been a very disappointing experience and has left me with an extremely negative impression of MYOB’s customer service.

I would rate lower if it was possible, No point is trying to call the 1300 number for assistance in closing an account as each time I call the message is the same "call back" and then it cuts the call.

Terrible. I have been trying to migrate my business data since May 2026!! Firstly they made an error with my subscription. After many hours on hold that was fixed. I have now been waiting since the 26th June to be able to migrate and access my data. No customer service or even a response. I don't have access to the information I need. Terrible. Avoid.

Appalling customer service: constant white noise while on hold, so bad and so much that, given todays technology, this level may well be deliberate. Exceptionally lengthy wait times, constant push to do everything on line. If possible, find another program, one that provides a higher level of support. Businesses that treat customers as poorly as this would probably benefit from requesting life-support from experienced PR consultants.
