We were recommended Daniel by our architect, HED in Welwyn, and from the very first interaction, we knew we were in good hands. He got in touch promptly and immediately made us feel at ease while discussing our plans for a single-storey extension and knock-through.

As I am currently pregnant, our timelines were much tighter than originally planned, but Daniel was incredible at working within our budget and fast-tracking the schedule. His team started on-site quickly and worked with impressive efficiency, completing the entire project end-to-end in just 8 weeks; significantly faster than the 10–12 weeks quoted by other builders.

We were particularly struck by the consistency of the work, there were 2–3 people on-site almost every day, so we never faced those dreaded "quiet gaps" where no progress is made.

The quality of the workmanship is excellent, and the team handled the complexities of an older house with total professionalism. Even when unexpected issues arose, such as our shower being affected by new plumbing, Daniel’s plumber worked late on a Friday evening to ensure it was fixed for us.

Beyond the build itself, the team was incredibly respectful, tidying the site every evening and communicating directly with our neighbours to keep them happy throughout the process. They also managed Building Control seamlessly, ensuring every major stage was signed off quickly and to a high standard. We now have a beautiful open-plan kitchen and living space, with steels already in place for a future second storey. We cannot recommend Daniel and his team highly after such a stress-free and high-quality experience!

I would strongly advise not to use contractor. In my experience, the work did not meet expectations in terms of quality. I had numerous non compliance from building control I had to spend £1000’s repairing his defective work, the company was called insignia extensions back then, they open and close business every 2 years to prevent legal action

O&D built a full width ground floor extension for us, fitted beautiful herringbone flooring and a large kitchen. We're really pleased with the finish. The experience during the build was better than expected - we were prepared for a rough time having watched lots of Grand Designs! However, it went so well, O&D helped us by building a temporary kitchen, putting up partitions to keep out dust/noise, and being tolerable to our day to day lives continuing. Best of all, the build was amazingly fast. The team was on site every day, with Daniel choreographing the right people to be there for every stage - electrician, plumber, bricklayers, glazing etc.

O&D were on our architect's short list of builders, we talked to a few firms and had quotes. O&D's pricing was competitive. We picked them because of Daniel - we immediately felt comfortable with how we were able to communicate. This was so important to us as we knew not every aspect of the build would go smoothly, or we'd want to make revisions as we went or need reassurance. Daniel gave us confidence that he'd listen, be pragmatic, and do everything practicable to help us get our dream extension! It was also pleasing to hear Daniel's experience of other builds and aspects of his own home improvements.

Daniel's network of tradespeople is phenomenal, we got a great deal on AC, the electrician and plumber both did some additional jobs for us, the worktops are a work of art, and everyone was polite, tidy and worked promptly.

To endorse our experience we're getting Daniel back in a few months to help complete the project with some updates to the garden, utility room and downstairs flooring.

O&D Developments were recommended to us for our extension by our architect. After meeting Daniel of O&D Developments and a number of other contractors, Daniel gave me the confidence he would be the right person for the job. I am thoroughly pleased with our decision to go with O&D Developments.

The project was a first-floor extension creating an additional bedroom with vaulted ceiling & skylight, with en-suite bathroom. And ground floor refurbishment of the garage below and the utility room at the rear of the property, which included a floor and ceiling raise, bringing the room level with the rest of the property.

The build was extremely well run by Daniel and the speed and quality of the entire build was second to none. All of Daniel’s team were courteous and polite and did a great job across the board. The team were on site promptly every day from the very start of the build right up until completion. Daniel’s skills, knowledge and attention to detail made it a pleasure to work with him and his team throughout the build. They even went the extra mile by building a temporary locked shed in the garden which we could use to store all the contents of the garage and utility room which made a huge difference. Together with offering bespoke advice on the cosmetics throughout.

We found Daniel to be extremely principled, honest, transparent, and reliable. It was a pleasure to have him and his team around.

I would have no hesitation in recommending O&D Developments and would certainly use them again myself for any future building work.

Just over a year ago we met Daniel to talk through our plans of re-developing our home. Immediately what struck me was his eye for detail, honesty and his sense of humour.

Over the next few months as things progressed with planning permission and structural architects we stayed in touch and he allowed me to speak and meet with some of his most recent clients.

The feedback was impressive and his work was too.

Ours was a single storey rear extension, loft conversion, double storey side and some front extension work, effectively doubling the size of our home.

Having previously undertaken a major refurb with a nightmare builder it was vitally important we found the right one this time round.

What I wasn’t fully prepared for or appreciated was the speed and planning that Daniel puts into his work. You need to be organised as Daniel plans ahead and often it’s other people that cause the delays and not him.

His team are a close knit bunch of guys that are both friendly and very easy to get on with but boy do they put in the hours!

In just 10-12 weeks the construction work was done and we’ve spent the last few weeks finishing everything off. 6 months to the day of the work starting and true to his word we have re-packed all of our boxes ready to move back in.

It’s going to feel strange now walking into the house and not seeing Daniel and the team there and our home will feel empty without them but he knows they can pop round whenever he wants to

We were recommended a number of local contractors by our architects, and after meeting several and reviewing their quotes, we decided to appoint Daniel of O&D Developments for our extension project. We're so glad we did!

We’re absolutely delighted with the work Daniel and his team have done. The entire project, including some additional landscaping in the back garden, was completed within just six weeks — something we still find hard to believe, given how efficient and well-executed everything was. Most impressively, there was no compromise on quality at any stage.

As we were living out of one room for much of the build, the speed and smooth running of the project made a huge difference to our daily lives. Daniel’s team were always prompt, polite, and extremely considerate while on site — a genuinely lovely group of people to have around.

Naturally, no building project is without a few surprises. One particular instance involved what initially seemed like a need for additional steel supports in the living room — which was our only usable space during the works. Daniel collaborated closely with the architects and structural engineers to find a smarter solution that avoided this, saving us both money and major disruption.

We’re truly grateful to Daniel and his team for their outstanding work, and we wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend O&D Developments to friends and family.

I hired Daniel and his crew to do a major 1st floor extension, adding 120sqm of space in 2 large rooms. This involved 26 steels, building a new tiled roof, underpinning of the foundations to take the extra weight, 3 new dormer windows, 2 refurbished dormers, complete rewiring of the entire house, complete replastering of the entire house, retiling in the kitchen and bathroom, laying flooring and many other tasks. All of these tasks were completed to an excellent standard and quickly. Daniel and his crew are all extremely hard workers and take pride in their work. Daniel kept me very well informed at all stages of the project, sending me many photos and daily status updates.
I regard myself as very fortunate to have employed O & D to do my project. I have received first class work and am looking forwards to enjoying the fruits of their labours for many years.

I felt the need to leave a review although our works are not entirely complete.

My families experience with Daniel and the whole team at O&D has been positive. Daniel understands the emotional roller coaster and the stress that you as the client experiences when undertaking renovation works on your personal home. Especially, when you are living in it during the renovation.

When we went to tender, we found Daniels estimate very competitive. It wasn't the cheapest and it wasn't the most expensive. Remember, it's not always about the money, you have to get on with the head contractor. After all, you will be spending a lot of time with them and you are giving them your trust to look after you and your home. Daniel, my wife, my son and I, immediately clicked. He gave me the time of day and was happy to chit chat and answer all my questions.

Our works began beginning of March24. At the time of writing this review, we approximately 1 month away from completion.
Their speed at which they've progressed through this project is simply due to careful planning from Daniel. He operates at a speed which meant i had to be organised and have fixtures, fittings, planned in advance and or on site on time as to not hold up the build, so the project could continue to proceed at this rapid pace. Who wants to live in a renovation any longer than needed? This speedy pace was very appreciated. Just make sure you are aware of lead times. Daniel will help in these instances and make you aware of what is required and when.

Like every project, no matter how much planning, surprises were encountered, pretty much from the offset. Daniel, was and is still reasonable when it comes to helping you overcome any and all hurdles you will encounter. As someone else mentioned in their review, Daniels' motto being "There are no problems, only solutions" is certainly one he stands by.

I can comfortably and happily recommend O&D to anyone. Get a quote, meet Daniel and just go from there. What have you got to lose.

They carried out a single story rear and side extension to our bungalow. Well impressed with the work and the speed which it was carried out in. And the organisation of different trades. No issues with building control, all passed and completed. On site 24 / 7 . Highly recommend them. Started in December completed in March. With us moving in shortly after.

O&D Developments have just completed a large extension to our house - back wrap around, double side and loft. They have done a wonderful job and we are so excited to get moved back in! They worked all through the freezing cold still with smiles on their faces and take great pride in their work. Building control signed everything off along the way and if there was ever an area on their report feedback that needed attention then it was corrected by the men immediately. They are courteous and extremely hard workers. Really happy to recommend them.

The project (an extension) was completed on time. The diligence of the team was very welcome and I certainly didn't feel corners were being cut. There was even some creativity from the team when some was required. Wouldn't hesitate to suggest you give them the opportunity to quote on your project. You won't be disppointed with the outcome

Used O&D originally for a loft conversion and then for a complete flat refurbishment. The team completed all building works on time and on budget. All works were completed professionally and I was kept informed of progress with regular updates. Also gave invaluable advice on fixtures and fittings.
