Brilliant Customer Service

I recently had a problem using one of this company's Rapid Charging Points in Chichester. The Charging Point failed to work 3 times on the bounce which after receiving countless notifications from Osprey about cheaper charging over the Bank Holiday Weekend, was very frustrating to say the least especially when a pre authorisation of £25.00 is still sat on your bank account!! So normally I'd curse and move on but I decided to make a complaint this time as I believe these people should be bought to book if their Charging Points are not working properly and to my utter surprise a couple of hours later (bearing in mind it was late on a Saturday Afternoon) I had a reply asking me to provide further information (times, error messages etc) which I duly replied with. The very next morning I had another reply from a very helpful lady called Jessica saying they were looking in to the problem with their Technical Team and would report back to me. She assured me the Pre-Authorisation for one of the failed Charges (the other failed attempts were made via their own App and Octopus's Electroverse App), would be refunded to me as soon as possible (few days after the weekend) and as a gesture of good will and to make up for my negative charging experience, they have put a credit of 25 kWh charging time on my account - which incidentally will be very helpful for my upcoming Camping Trip down to Dorset.

This is absolutely top class customer service and it is a pleasure to deal with companies who hold their hands up and are keen to rectify problems as soon as they occur - other companies - Energy Companies in particular could learn and awful lot from Osprey's approach about providing excellent customer service to their customers. For this reason alone I have absolutely no problem at all giving Osprey Charging a 5 Star Trustpilot Rating!

I am blown away by their approach especially considering one or two of their competitors are absolutely awful in this field!

Still awaiting my credit from a pre…

Still awaiting my credit from a pre authorised £45.00 charge, told by customer services it would be 7 days!!!! a whole month later, still nothing. Told I would need to contact my own bank to gain a refund?
Please don't respond asking me to email customer services - I've done this already, hence writing a review

300kw charger gave a paltry 60kw…

300kw charger gave a paltry 60kw significantly increasing my time at a bleak charging spot with only an overpriced farm shop on site. Activated the charger on my Audi app but then there was no way of stopping it to release my car. Tried phoning Osprey support but they didn’t answer so had to turn down the maximum charge in the car to get it to stop. Luckily it was a sunny day or I would have got soaked as there is also no canopy like most EV charge sites.

Osprey leg down EV drivers AGAIN

Went to charge my Audi for the first time at Hamilton Retail park and spent 29 mins trying to get them to work. Tech services could not help.
Useless service and giving EV charging a very bad name
Avoid and use Gridserve or any of the other providers

Today I charged my EV at the Kenilworth Cottage Inn (36 Stoneleigh Road) 50kW charger. Uploaded 70 miles, 22 kWh in 0.5 hours, at an advertised cost of 79p/kWh. My visa bill shows two charges: £16.65 and £45.00. Tomorrow I will start the complaints process. Oh and don't bother with the false apologies.

This is to ensure that the payment card being used has enough funds to charge. Tried 3 times to charge our car having…

Tried 3 times to charge our car having downloaded the App, each time it charged for less than a minute before stopping. We rang them and they implied there must be an issue with our car. Eventually we drove to another town and charged at a BP station.

Have been driving an EV for a few years…

Have been driving an EV for a few years now and use Osprey chargers regularly around where I live and they always work and are super quick, especially some of their bigger sites. I find the £45 check normally clears once my charge has finished. Hope this is helpful!

Shocking performance all round

Charger on the east lancs took 200 in fees due to failed charges before I realised and called the helpline. Was told the chargers are broken have been since before Christmas. A sign mightve helped!!! The money better bounce back quickly or I'll be seeking compensation for being out of pocket. Won't ever use again

Went to charge at Skipton it took pre payment of £25.00 which is ok, vehicle did not charge so tried again another £25.00
Checked credit card and there was 4x £25:00 yrs £100 on my credit card
went to grid serve worked ok and initial £1.00 charge showing on credit card
Do not use Osprey robin B******s

Currently there is 20% VAT charged on all public charging compared to 5% VAT on home charging. The industry average price stands at 80p/kWh, and at Osprey, we currently offer our services at 79p/kWh. Osprey charging very poor

Osprey charging very poor, the one in Prescott Merseyside is constantly not working, phone them and they reboot machine and still don’t work and then they just say sorry there is fault and nothing we can do. Nothing else available where you pay by card. I tried a few times and always broken and staff not not bothered.

Most reliable charging network on long trips

Having just completed a 1500 mile trip around the UK, I found that every Osprey charger was working, simple to use and pay for, and charged relatively fast. They were also always by a facility where you could grab a coffee or a drink.

Negatives: cost is high but no higher than other rapid chargers; not giving full speed (always 30% off max); app didn't work to pay.

However, compared to other networks, they are doing very well. Keep expanding and maintaining network please.

Absolute rip off KW pricing topped with a user fee

Osprey charging 85p per KW along with a 35p transaction fee.
This makes it more expensive than a petrol car.
Given that domestic KW is about 32p how can these prices be justified.

It's important to note that for customers using third-party roaming cards and apps on our network, the pricing is determined by the respective providers, not Osprey. We work with a variety of roaming partners, each of whom sets their own pricing. Unfortunately, we do not have control over the rates set by these third parties. Thank you, Team Osprey.

Absolutely disgusting

Absolutely disgusting, firstly the price was ridiculous and secondly i ended up getting a parking fine of £100 because you have to pay for parking whilst you pay £45 for 40 mins charging.

These restrictions are set by the landowner / landlord of the car park and our signage advises customers that standard parking restrictions do apply within the carpark being used. If you feel your PCN has been wrongly issued, please email us at support@ospreycharging.co.uk so that we can investigate with the landlord and in some cases get the PCN cleared.

Our chargers perform a payment reservation (pre-authorisation) of £45 on your bank account. This is just a pre-check and will be replaced with the actual amount of your charging session directly after the charge or at most within a few days. Once again, we are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you. New to EV used these as you didn’t need…

New to EV used these as you didn’t need an account. Charging stations always faulty. Withholding £25 every time even when it fails to start the charge . Just get an app for different charge stations and avoid Osprey at all costs. Very expensive too.
