Received my hat yesterday. I love it, my wife loves it. Couldn't be happier. Arrived sooner than I expected. I had a question/concern and sent an email. I quickly received a response which answered my question. Customer service alone is a reason to use Panama Hats Direct.

I received my hat yesterday and I must say it is a sweet looking hat. I ordered an inexpensive hat because I wanted to check out the sizing and the size is just right. I plan on ordering a custom made hat in the near future for the summer and will perhaps do so in February.
A brief word about their customer service: they were excellent. I was a little nervous over shipping but alas it was all for not. The hat arrived in excellent condition and in a reasonable amount of time. Once again customer service was great, they informed me exactly when I would get my hat and it came right on time.

I received my first hat from Panama Hats Direct this week and I can promise it will Not be the last. This is without a doubt a work of art. I had it custom made to my specifications which made it take longer. It was well worth the wait. I had a concern about the shipping and I received a swift response. I would say all the same extremely positive things about quality, service, and price that many other reviewers have said. To add something of my own: I've bought many panama hats over the years in the US and London, and it was a pleasure to finally get one that fits perfectly -- not just close, but just right. After studying the downloadable size guide, I decided I needed a 59.5 cm, and that's what I was able to get. Not only do I wear it proudly, but I'll wear it often, because it's really comfortable.

This was a gift to a fellow hat lover and he tells me it is the best hat he has ever had! I had problems shipping to the right address and received prompt and polite help from this seller. I will be buying again...maybe for me, though I have too many hats, but no real Panama! Thank you!

Started this venture back in February did my research talked to Brent Black one of the best in this market, also read blogs; fedora Lounge and some others, YouTube videos. Overall, went with William and Casey nice guys even though, with the rampant Coronavirus sweeping over Ecuador they were able to custom make me a TRUE WORK OF ART. Yes I counted the Weaves per Square Inch 1500 YES you read it right "1500"! It's a beautiful hat I own some nice hats but this bar none is the best hat I ever saw and now Own. The finishing is okay but for this quality of hat they could done better on the sweatband (sew leather ends) and better brim blocking, this is not critique, but a suggestion. Excellent communication during the whole process, and Quality work for the PRICE easily the hat's worth $4000 to $5000 in the USA!

My hat is a work of beauty. I am happy to support this traditional craftsmanship. My hat is very comfortable, light weight, and fits perfectly. The company provides exceptionally good customer service.

My favorite hat blew off into Biscayne Bay a few weeks ago....I found Panana Hats Direct and thought I'd give them a try. WOW.....I now have a new favorite hat. It looks great and fits perfectly. At first I was concerned about getting measurements correct the but they did a great job.

I just received my hat and could not be more pleased. The fit is perfect and the quality is better than I expected. I am most impressed with how light weight and comfortable the hat is. The ordering process was very easy and the follow up communications kept me apprised of every step of production and delivery. I recommend Panama Hats Direct most highly. Now, I need to order a an assortment of hat bands. . .

Returned a hat to them in October, 2019 as per their instructions. Despite requesting a status on my return for four months, they haven't chosen to reply. They kept pushing for a custom $800 hat. I've already bought a custom hat from them. When I didn't order the custom hat, they cut off all communication. Guess I won't see my $250 USD. What a bunch of crooks. Never have encountered this.

PHD worked with me to correct this situation. The problem was that Yahoo directed their and my established email communications to the spam folders. The folders only go back for 30 days. When we finally re-established communications, they bent over backwards to take my specifications and have a hat made. The hat is a very fine example of a Montecristi. Like it very much. Give them 5 stars!

I just received my in hat in a bag and not a box and it is destroyed!!!

It has been an excellent experience buying from Panama Hats Direct,
the processing of the order, the care for the customer and the hat quality, simply put it, it ranks above.
I will definitely recommend Panama Hats Direct, I will only buy Panama hats from them.

I really enjoyed getting a couple hats from these folks. After I placed my order I received regular emails, with pictures, of my actual hats being completed. The updates gave a real sense of working with artisans and not some giant faceless corporation. The hats were done within a few days and arrived within a couple weeks, in a sturdy box with a cardboard form to keep their shape. The sweatbands and hatbands were very well attached and the fit was exactly as I had ordered, using the company's easy-to-use hat-fitting tape you can print on any computer printer. If you really want a hat that fits your exact size head, these folks are a great way to go.

I just bought my second hat and it's great! I had a problem with the website when I ordered, but they worked it out and I got exactly what I wanted. My first hat is a fino and I have worn it so much it's beginning to be the worst for wear, so I made my second one an extra fino. You can definitely see the difference.
Excellent customer service, outstanding product, and well worth the cost. I never used to be a big hat wearer and now I never leave the house without it.

I was very excited to receive my first Montecristi hat. I ordered a 7 3/8 which I thought would be the right size. I ripped open the box and the hat was beautiful I tried it on, It was tight. Furthermore, the brim size that I ordered was smaller than I expected. It was what I ordered. I called the number on the website and spoke with WillIam, the Manager, and he gave me several methods to stretch the hat. Unfortunately, it did not stretch it enough and I called William back as he has instructed me to do. I was told to send the hat back. I told him I would have preferred a larger brim. Three weeks later, i received my new hat. It was a perfect fit and the brim size was just what I wanted. Both hats appeared to be beautifully made(I am no expert) and I have not wanted to take the hat off. I've been in retail and sales all my life: I appreciate great customer service, fine quality and great value. Panama Hats Direct has all three. I'm already shopping for my next hat from Panama Hats Direct.

I purchased two Montechristi hats in 2019 before the summer and have received many compliments. My experience with PHDirect has been stellar. I live in the US, they called me when they were about to adjust the size of my hat in response to a question I listed about the size. They cleared up my concern and sized the hat while I was on the phone, the fit is perfect. They also sent photos at various stages of completion. Before I learned of PHDirect, I bought a hat from another Ecuador company and a number designer brand hats off the shelf at major department stores (made in China) the pricing was very similar to PHD, but the fit feel and overall quality left a lot to be desired. No one compares in quality, service, customer experience or to the value that I have experienced with Panama Hat Direct. My next hat will be a total custom hat.

I have. bought 5 Montecristi hats from Casey this year. The quality of the weave and the blocking is superb, with just the right amount of stiffener to maintain its shape.
I have ordered other hats from other makers in Ecuador and they to don’t compare in fit, weave quality or blocking.
I would compare these hats to Brent Black custom Montecristo hats.
The quality is not hand blocked as is Brent’s, but they are literally a fraction of the price.
If you know your hats I would strongly recommend. You will not be disappointed. They are beautiful!!!!

My wife and I ordered two hats from Panama Hats Direct. It was the best shopping experience we have had in years.
We were able to custom design our hats in the size, style, brim width, shade of color, and hat band style we wanted. William helped us every step of the way. He even managed to find a way to ship the hats to us in a balsa wood box at no additional cost.
He sent photos of the hats being woven, from about 1/4 built through the finished product.
We not only got great hats at a bargain price, we get to feel good about supporting the indigenous craftsmen and women who make them, and about helping to keep this art form alive.
