The site was very intuitive and provided a plethora of information about panama hats, as well as the selection process for ordering a hat from Equador. My customer service experience with Panama Hats Direct has been absolutely first-rate. I chose a hat from the sale range. I knew which size, style and weave quality I wanted. I had a requirement regarding the profile of hat too. After placing my order I emailed about that. The response was prompt and positive. I was impressed with the customer service and email communications, including photos of my hat at each stage. I don't believe this company exists. I tried to order two hats on two different working credit card and was declined 3 times. I emailed and called their number and have not heard a word back. I got an email stated I am on the hat give a way contest but can't buy any.

Okay, hat finally arrived. Quality is as advertised; really fine weave. Customer help was 1st rate; responded quickly and answered all questions in a extremely timely manner. The only thing that was a little off putting was the shipping. Maybe my expectations were too high. Took 18 days to get the hat from Ecuador to Florida; then another 10 days to get to me. All in all, from time of order until in my hands 38 days. If you can put up with the slow shipping, this is the place to order your hat!

Today I received my new Montecisti Fino Havana Panama Hat, without doubt it was a pleasure dealing with Panama Hats Direct, from my first contact with them before I placed my order until it arrived. Lots of up-dates including photos of my hat being designed etc, William emailed me every step of the way. This hat fits perfectly and the workmanship is fantastic. Postage time from Ecuador to Belfast in Northern Ireland was around 26 days but well worth the wait. When ordering, remember about import charges, in my case it was an additional £18.95. I would really recommend using Panama Hats Direct to everyone wishing to purchase a hand made Panama Hat. Now that I have seen the quality I'm sure I'll be placing another order again.

I made a hell of a mistake in my anger. It was not Panama Hats Direct I had trouble with , it was Panama Hat Mall. Please accept my apologizes as I wanted to warn folks of the BAD service of Panama Hat Mall not Panama Hats Direct. The next hat I purchase will be from Hats Direct

I ordered my Patron fino about nine months ago and have been very happy with it. It has kept the me cool and stylish in the California sun and in the tropics. The crown height is just under 3.5” at the front and exactly 3.5” at the back, which is perfect for me, and the choice of ribbons was great to have. The head size was right - trust the tape! - and being able to substitute a fabric sweat band for the leather one another really nice option.

The reason I take a star off was that the brim size is somewhat random. I ordered “6.1-6.5cm” and the smallest measurement is 6.5mm at the front. The back is similar but the left side is 7.0cm and the right is 7.5cm, which seems an unreasonable variation even for a custom order.

I ordered a Panama hat through Panama Hats Direct last summer and am very happy with my hat. It fits perfectly and the craftsmanship appears to be excellent. After six months of use, there is no visible wear and tear. There was a small mix-up regarding delivery after I ordered the hat but the person at the company with whom I corresponded via email was very responsive and the problem was resolved immediately after I contacted him.

I hope this is a hat for life; but, if it is not, I will certainly order through Panama Hats Direct again.

I give my hats fairly hard wear - they are work hats first and foremost, since I work right much outdoors doing garden design, installation, and maintenance. These hold up right well, and keep me protected from the sun with their tight weave. (Dermatologists have noted the hats with approval.)
I have been wearing them so long they have become kind of a trade-mark. Excellent product.
