panasonic hifi stay well clear buy better

i have just purchased a panasonic SC-PMX802E-S Wireless Multi-room Traditional Hi-Fi System from Curry's. And must tell you to AVOID. It's the 2nd WORST item i have purchased. The 1st was a Panasonic smart TV (but thats another 1 star review). The SC-PMX802E-S Hi-Fi System has to be the worst ever. Yes it sounds ok, but thats it, the firmware is full of bugs. Programming the preset channels is near on impossible. You set the first preset station, but setting the 2nd just fails. You need to wait ages when powering off, first you get about 4 to 5 second wait message then another 5 seconds to the display to say goodbye, a thing from the stone age. Display scrolling is so dated, it's in block letters & like almost watching teletext all over again from the 80s, slow and unreadable in some cases. And the radio station scrolling has to be set every time you turn on the hi-fi. Alot of stuff you done before turning off needs to be set again. The firmware really needs a 2025 update asap to FIX all the bugs. On a good note, it do sounds OK but not the best audio from Panasonic on the SC-PMX802E-S Wireless Multi-room Traditional Hi-Fi System. Is it worth over £500 Answer: NO 100% not worth it. Its a £250 - £300 item. It's rated as a premium product when I would class it as a panasonic entry level product compared to items what panasonic use to make a few years ago. It's an item, maybe you would buy a teenager for the bedroom if it was not so over priced. Not really as a main living room system unless you want your friends to laugh at you.

Replacement parts almost as expensive as whole machine to replace!!!

Had a Bread maker from Panasonic for some years now but the bread pan now needs replaced. Panasonic’s replacement bread pan costs almost as much as the machine itself meaning I now need to throw out the entire machine rather than replacing one aspect. Contacted them about this and they couldn’t care less, showing Panasonic care nothing about sustainability and adding to landfill. Will not be buying again from a company that cares so little about their responsibilities and waste.

DON'T BUY A PANASONIC SMART TV

Great picture and sound is ok but everything else is terrible. The freeview TV freezes and quite often the TV guide simply won't open. The apps crash half way through watching something and the TV quote often doesn't switch off so you need to unplug it. DO NOT BUY A PANASONIC TV.

Customer Service is a jokw

I contacted them, and the customer service people sounded very professional, and promised I would hear from them about my problem. I contacted them again, and I was told the same.
After a week, and I simply got an email saying that my ID has been deleted for being inactive.

Bought a breadmaker SDB2510

Bought a breadmaker SDB2510. All was well the first couple of weeks. Now, despite using the same ingredients and procedures, my bread no longer rises.

Speak to Panasonic and my option are to contact a repair team. They will collect, assess and re-deliver to me. If it's not broken, then I have the honour of paying for this.

Or I could speak to the cooker team, who only operate AM on Monday to Wednesday. What are they going to tell me? I use fresh flour and yeast. Put the ingredients in, in the order stated (as I have done since my first attempt).

Bought the Breadmaker at the beginning of June 2025....

Absolutely appalling customer service – avoid Panasonic UK

I would strongly advise anyone considering a Panasonic product to think twice, especially if you value proper customer support. My experience with Panasonic UK has been nothing short of infuriating. After purchasing a microwave that developed a fault within warranty, I was given the runaround for months.

Their so-called “authorised repair centre”, DK Audio Visual Services, was utterly unprofessional — ignoring emails, providing contradictory information, and blaming Panasonic at every turn. Meanwhile, Panasonic conveniently distanced itself, refused to take ownership, and ultimately declined the repair based on absurd and shifting excuses (first it was the glass tray, then a supposed issue with the proof of purchase, and finally the serial number).

I submitted a formal complaint to their head office and was told it was being "investigated". Weeks went by with no response — only for the same team I complained about to eventually reply, dismissing the issue entirely.

This company clearly has no regard for its customers once the sale is complete. Their warranty is meaningless, their processes are opaque, and the overall attitude is one of deflection and denial. Truly one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had.

Never again.

Don’t use customer service because they tell you they cannot help you

The customer service is pretty much awful. I bought a DVD player last week from Amazon. I have just registered my email address with Panasonic online but the problem is I am trying to register my product with them but the button that says next to register doesn’t highlight so I went onto customer service and I gave this so-called Becky all my details the name the address where I bought it purchase price the serial number et cetera and then she tells me even though she’s customer service she can’t actually register it for me so how am I supposed to register my product for the guarantee? I never thought a company would refuse to help you when they have a chat to us help button on their website as I am dyslexic I use a microphone and sometimes I cannot register certain things because of this and normally I go onto a page and they will do it for me if I click help me I mean like she said to me why are you contacting us because I need to register my DVD player And then she says oh I’m sorry I can’t help you??? I’m at a loss

Panasonic make really quality products

I have read a great many negative reviews of Panasonic and their products and just had to share my experience. We were bought by our children a Panasonic HDC-SD9 High Definition Camcorder in 2009 for a trip we were going on. We have used this Camcorder every year since and taken it on trips all over the world. It has performed flawlessly and now, even though it is 16 years old it is still working fine. It is a testament to the quality of Panasonic products and their reliability. Hopefully it has many more years left in it as it has become a valued member of the family.

Panasonic SD-YR2540 breadmaker

Recently purchased the breadmaker SD-YR2540. The display is impossible to read from a standing position unless you’re incredibly tall. The recipe booklet has a serious typo in as much as advising to use one TABLESPOON of sugar per medium loaf and doesn’t have a recipe for Granary bread.
Wasted a lot of flour in trying to get the mixture correct.
Not impressed.

Awful Customer Service

I purchased the PANASONIC TV-24N30AEY 24" HD Ready LED based on the model not being SMART. Since purchasing the item it has been causing havoc regarding the picture quality. Having contacted the
Customer Service (unfortunately) the service was horrendous. With someone with eyesight issues, they lacked compassion and professionalism. After three weeks of gaslighting from the Customer Service, I have given up! The technician gave conflicting information of what could be causing the problem, and did not want to provide alternative support. I need to add the TV was bought four weeks. Please be mindful when purchasing this particular model as it's not fit for purpose

Panasonic SD-PN100KXC Automatic Mini Breadmaker 18 Auto Programmes Black - NO RECIPES

Panasonic make the perfect small bread maker, which is ideal for one or two people. The Panasonic SD-PN100KXC is a great machine, but unfortunately there are hardly any instructions or recipes for all of the 18 modes it has. I would love to use the 'French' or 'Brioche' or any of the gluten free or dough modes but the only recipe is for Gluten Free Cheese Bread! What happens if you don't like or tolerate cheese?
I am so disappointed that Panasonic have given so little thought to making this machine more useful.
There are 9 bread recipes and a salad(?) and a Jam recipe.

Don't buy a Panasonic television…

I bought a Panasonic television because I had an ancient TV of theirs which was driven by various stb's but was ultimately faultless. My first mistake. My next mistake was not to whizz it back within 30 days when it wouldn't connect to anything. My next mistake. To assume John Lewis or Panasonic are reputable companies to do business with. The TV has been 'repaired', it is still junk. I objected to having a repaired less than two months old television, but was railroaded into accepting that they had to try. It is still junk. I've asked for my money back as is my consumer right(s), within six months, to be told all they are prepared to do is repair the repair. Panasonic and John Lewis are colluding to push this rubbish back onto me at every turn. They know their Turkish built junk is rubbish but are as sick of it as I am.

Do not buy anything from John Lewis or Panasonic.

I never dreamt either were so crooked.

What Customer Care???

Until a recent experience of abysmal Customer Service by Panasonic I would have assumed they have an effective and efficient Customer aftercare service, how wrong was I?
Reading all these negative reviews from other disgruntled Customers says it all….
I will never purchase another product from this company in the future.
PS - don’t bother checking the box to inform them of your review they don’t care.

Have always purchased Panasonic bread…

Have always purchased Panasonic bread makers but last purchase has been an absolute disaster, model number SD-YR2550 in silver, it has never been right but I have tried to persevere with it in making different types of Bread over the months of having it but it doesn't seem to have the right programming it should so eventually I call Panasonic for help only to be told it's a software issue and now it's out of warranty basically tough, there is nowhere near me I can go to get it fixed either, after years and numerous recommendations to family and friends to purchase their bread makers when I do have an issue this is their response, so now I will not ever recommend them to anyone, buyer beware 😡

This is quite the best oven I have ever…

This is quite the best oven I have ever had. It is the Panasonic Inverter. I am 86 and everything is explained very clearly. As a cooker/Microwave for two people it is wonderful. It cooks beautifully and is so easy to clean. i always found my previous oven a nightmare to clean. Cooking meals is a delight with this oven and I can't praise it enough.

SD-PN100 breadmaker terrible registration experience…

Before using my SD-PN100 breadmaker I tried (as they tell you) to register the product. I wasted a lot of time repeatedly getting 'please try later' Eventually their system opened up, but it still took me over an hour to register the product because their system kept taking me back to the login page. Even before I plug it in, I have decided never to buy Panasonic again.

Panasonic Freely TV software doesn't work

Bought a Panasonic Freely TV direct from Panasonic. Within 21 hours I asked for a refund as the software has had to be reinstalled twice as it won't play live TV. Internet connection and player apps are working. Asked for a refund immediately, but they insist that they won't collect the TV for refund unless I go through yet more troubleshooting. The software is dire and customer services just as bad! Never buy another Panasonic product.

Bought an expensive panasonic microwave…

Bought an expensive panasonic microwave and all the paint peeled off inside within a year of purchase. Rang panasonic who said we would need to find a paint sprayer ourselves and pay for the cost of a paint spraying job.

Upon looking on panasonics website they clearly state, DO NOT USE A MICROWAVE IF THE INSIDE PAINT IS DAMAGED, COMING AWAY OR FLAKEY BECAUSE ITS DANGEROUS AND IT CANNOT BE REPAIRED!!!!

Worse customer service ever

Worse customer service ever. They don’t even bother to respond to emails. For the past 15 days, I’ve been sending emails daily and trying to reach out via phone to customer care and their service center. I’ve even written to their nodal office, grievance cell, and senior professionals — but no one has responded. This really shows how poor the local Panasonic support is and how little they value their customers.

Further to my review of April 10th, faulty microwave

Further to my review of April 10th: A reply from Panasonic and my return comments:
Dear Mr. Higgins,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us, I hope this email finds you well.

I am so sorry to hear that your experience with our unit has not met your expectations and I am sorry for the situation.
Regarding your case, please be informed that product life expectancy is a highly subjective matter, influenced by a large number of variables (i.e. how extensively is it used, for what purposes, what content, in what environment, etc.).

However, if the unit is outside warranty it can be repaired still by our authorised service centre however any charges incurred would be payable by you. This would not be refundable by Panasonic.

As for the spare parts, please be informed that we do not sell them directly as we do not encourage home repairs as they may be associated with a higher risk of human error, increasing the risk of accident.

Therefore, only our authorised repairers have access to them. They are the only ones authorised to order parts and repair our units.

I appreciate that this response will be disappointing and I apologise that Panasonic cannot be of assistance to you on this occasion. However, I trust that the above will help to clarify the company's position.

Kind regards,

Panasonic Customer Complaints Department
_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Thanks for the reply but unfortunately it looks far from a reply and more a reiteration of company policy, rhetoric rather than addressing the issue. This is the 'norm' in companies where customer complaints are dealt with via a process similar to call centre points of contact when phoning an organisation: Staff far removed from company policy making, in place as tokenism to be in a position to mark any contacts as cleared. In other words (and no offence intended), low down in the company hierarchy. In essence, complaints are not fed into board or executive level decision-making.

I say this because the reply implied assumptions about my situation rather than attempting to deal with issues specifically.
Firstly, information about product life expectancy being iterated is somewhat embarrassing. The product cost over two-hundred pounds and is only three years old. Also, almost identical models are still being sold. Where in your product sales literature does it advise customers that the product could, based on what you say, become obsolete in a short time? Where is the warning?
Secondly, no one has told me that my microwave is obsolete. It's just a supplier of parts who hasn't got the one failed component.
Thirdly, why assume that I want to do the work? I employed a local repair tradesman, qualified, to find the fault. It is one component and he couldn't source the heating element from his regular suppliers so asked me to try.

Fourthly, why do Panasonic sell any products? I could buy one and take it apart at any point. So what right so has Panasonic to deny me the right to obtain a component when an inferior product fails on the basis that I am too stupid or incompetent to be trusted to do the right thing? Which is what your policy implies. Clearly it is not protecting me, it is linked to Panasonics' closed shop approach of forcing me to use only so-called approved repairers. How would selling me a component be encouraging me when I am using a qualified tradesman?
Fifthly, your call centre person told me where I could buy the component. Lies of course because I can't. They want to do the work as well. I'd have to make an eighty-miles return trip to the nearest one and pay out well over £100 with the part - financially untenable.

I would be quite happy to buy the component and have it delivered to my bona fide tradesperson but this appears not to be an option.

If Panasonic had a meaningful customer service it would establish the facts before deciding on the outcome. Not simply quote general policy.
If Panasonic are happy to operate in this unethical way, (disinterest in dealing with specific customer issues, hiding behind a policy 'wall' etc) then to reiterate I will continue to join the many sharing such experiences of Panasonic's faulty products and never touch another Panasonic item of any kind. I accept things can go wrong: The lot of any company. But how they are dealt with is what makes all the difference. Clearly Panasonic is totally internally focused with no interest in how such an approach impacts and no interest in finding out. Customers are expendable and no amount of platitudes or false sympathy alters those basic facts.
