This is an excellent institution. Being from the USA, I cannot stress enough just how effective they are at teaching. They do NOT follow the A-F grading scale (thank god) and they'll actually give you feedback on every assessment you submit. I studied towards the diploma course and it was the best decision I think I've made for my career. The price is very fair, becoming a student is hassle-free, you can easily learn at your own pace, and the best part is: you will LEARN and retain knowledge. Again, beyond excellent and I highly recommend that if you're torn between schools to go with this one.

This course is great. It is well structured so it is easy to understand and follow. Suitable for total beginners or for people with cosmetic knowledge who want to understand better the basics of formulating.
It covers the key raw material functions (thickeners, emulsifiers, preservative etc) and many type of products like serums, cleansers, moisturisers, shampoos, suncare etc etc.
There are also modules to learn about stability and compliance that are very interesting.
The practical exercises are also good and fun, although the more you practice with your own formulas or tests the more you learn. It is designed to give you the base and let you experiment with your own ideas.
The support from the tutors is good.

I am so glad that I enrolled with IPCS for my DPCF. It was a challenging one year for me as I had to juggle work, business and family. A lot of sacrifices and discipline required. However, the course structure and layout is such that the subject matters are carried through and explained seamlessly from one unit to the next as it gets more difficult and challenging. Belinda breaks the difficult parts down to a level that you can understand easily. I have already started utilising what I have learnt from the DPCF into my business! And I am continuing with my Certificate in Colour Cosmetics after this! Thanks Belinda, Tasmin and Rose for the support and assistance provided during this one year!

I have given 3 stars because this is a very "transactional organisation". By this, i mean they care mainly about the dollars and not the relationship with their customers / students. The program itself is very detailed ,but charging about $3000 for the read only option of the program seems quite steep for what you get. I guess this perception of their brand also makes me quite unattached to the brand. So its a case of get what you paid for and move on.... lol

I tried various recipes that are widely available on the internet. All of them resulted in products with severe deficiencies. Your "Easy DIY Sanitizing Hand Gel" produced excellent results. I am very happy with the consistency of the gel and the feel after applying it. Your easy-to-follow instructions and precise measurements enabled me to achieve ethanol content slightly higher than the minimum-required specification from the CDC. I am going to take a broader look at your web site since I have no prior background in personal care products.

What makes me fascinated about Institute of Personal Care Science is that, you get to learn how to formulate personal care products despite studying it online. Not only that you get to learn concepts on how to formulate, but you also get to learn it by doing it HANDS-ON despite learning online. They send you a package where you can experiment with the raw materials and you get to create your OWN product. The final exam involves practically doing your own product and submitting it to be assessed. They guide you on how to do your own product, like they are just beside you in laboratory setting.

Those difficult concepts were also taught in a concise and simple manner that even a non-scientific person (a layman) can grasp the concept. This does not mean the concepts are taught in a shallow manner, the concepts were explained "in-depth" in the simplest manner possible. They explain on how to use those concepts PRACTICALLY, rather than just laying out the theories without explaining the practical use just like what a typical college/university would do.

The way they teach, conduct lesson, and respond to questions seems like they are right beside you just like in a classroom setting (just without those classmates, of course 😊 ). You also get exams for each chapter, but be careful on cheating attempts like copying and pasting a formulation from online or other sources. Belinda will catch you for it 😂

Their diploma course is worth more than going into a 4-year university course. You can complete their diploma course just for 7-12 months depending on your pace and you can learn more in their course than going into a university. They teach you real-life hurdles ( logistics, pricing, manufacturing problem ) while formulating, which is not taught in a university. It is also way cheaper than going into a university considering the tuition, materials and boarding room.

With that said, everything on my mind has been said 😃 Happy formulating for new students planning to enroll. 10/10 I highly recommend it.

The Diploma of Personal Care Formulation has been the most valuable and enjoyable course. It has been complex and requires hard work, but is 100% worth every minute spent. The course has provided immediate gains for my own brand and provided invaluable skills that will take me forward with confidence to further consolidate, improve and grow my product range. Belinda's lectures were always informative and instruction packed, just fabulous. The 4 course books are a key resource that will be my 'go to' for years to come. I have been looking at multiple cosmetics courses and the diploma that the institute offered was by far the most complete.
It consists of multiple modules with the same patterns: video lectures, text reading, (practical exercice) and assessment questions. The teaching team is reactive so if you have any questions you can expect to have an answer in a short time.
I have learned so much and so fast. I feel comfortable enough to have a conversation about any formulation queries, which is what I wanted.

The best course! The structure of this course was superb. It was easy to fit around my work and activities and tracked your progress. Support was on hand whenever I needed it! Also, the content has given me a brilliant foundation for continuing on in this field of science, I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to develop their formulation knowledge!

I always wanted to formulate personal care products with my own brand but I have zero knowledge about the ingredients. The Certificate in Advanced Cosmetic Science helped me understand the ingredients and process of formulation, The contents of the units are very thorough and informative. I’ve not done distance education before and Belinda and the team at IPCS were very supportive and fast in getting back to me when I needed help. I've recently just graduated from the Diploma in Personal Care Development and Promotion course and my time studying here has been wonderful!

The course is very informative and touches on a lot of aspects that me, a newbie in the industry, didn't know about. It gives you all the exposure and knowledge you need to start your venture into the industry if you're new! Even as someone who isn't an industry professional, the textbook is mostly easy to follow.

Not only are the people at IPCS quick in responding, they're also extremely helpful and friendly. They made me feel very comfortable and adapting to distance learning (that was very new to me) was a breeze with their help. They also do take a lot of effort to motivate their students to keep a healthy pace in their studies. Don't worry if you're working or may not be able to study regularly like I did, they're very flexible with deadlines as long as you don't exceed a certain limit.

Overall, if you're interested in this industry but don't have the accessibility to studying these type of courses wherever you are, give IPCS a shot! I assure you won't be disappointed with how much you learn, as well as the quality of it.

I am a Compounding Pharmacist from Canada. I took the Certificate in Advanced Cosmetic Science course because I wanted to learn how to formulate cream/gel bases from scratch. This course exceeded all of my expectations and I have come away with so many new, practical, useful and valuable tools and skills! Belinda is a phenomenal teacher - her vast knowledge, her keen interest in the cosmetic industry, her desire that we learn to do it right, and her awesome ability to combine her teaching videos, YouTube and textbooks - all these made for a challenging, but extremely rewarding learning experience! I just completed the Organic Formulations Unit and I have to say it was very comprehensive. Belinda as always is very thorough with her explanations, great content and great delivery. Can definately recommend studies with IPCS.

I really enjoyed my study with IPCS, I was supported through out my studies whenever needed. The staff member always response to any enquires with the highest proferssionalism. You do receive test books and raw materials for pratical work. The test books that is supply by IPCS are useful tools for the course, is well written, easy to read and understand and is yours to keep.
