Fantastic week on intromediate sea kayak course. Instructor , Chris Evans, was really informative, enthusiastic and helpful

Excellent 5-day course with a very knowledgeable instructor. A very welcoming and friendly centre. Missed out on a perfect score mostly because the food wasn't as great as I had heard it was, which was disappointing for 5 days full board.

Great location, good food and accommodation. Excellent standard of tuition and lots of courses on offer. Amazing place to meet other people. Staff really friendly and welcoming.

Just come back from the 5-day Intro to Rock Climbing course. Great instructors, equipment and location. I didn't stay at PyB this time so can't comment on that.

Another brilliant week at Plas Y Brenin! Rock Improver course was a great next step on my climbing journey. Our instructors were excellent and adapted the week to meet everyone’s needs. All the objectives I started with were met. You always feel in safe hands and able to ask questions. I learnt so much. Being given the tools to make yourself safe is very empowering. At the same time we had an epic adventure. Thanks to Jen and Kath my instructors for being so great to work with. Already planning the next visit.

Genuinely every person I met was really friendly, helpful and professional, couldn't ask for more. I didn't stay overnight, but the accommodation looked great and well maintained.

Great place to stay within sight of Yr Wyddfa alongside a couple of lakes. The womans hill skills course was excellent all practical skills ourdoors on the hills where you would be using them. Catered for a diverse range of ages which was nice. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed being in a chilled environment

I did the 5 day intro to rock climbing. The location is beautiful and convenient, and the accommodation and food is simple and excellent value. I had no prior rope climbing experience, but quickly got to grips with it thanks to the excellent instruction from Nic who was calm, patient and a good laugh! Got very lucky with hot, dry weather all week too!

The Complete Navigation Skills course was excellent. The instructor was very knowledgeable, paced the course well, adapted for the weather conditions and was very approachable. A really useful and enjoyable weekend course.

Just had a great weekend learning Complete Navigation Skills. The instructor was very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject and explained things clearly which I had previously not understood! The weather was awful but he managed to turn this to our advantage so the learning was actually better than it would have been had the sun shone. Highly recommended 👌

Great facilities, excellent equipment and really knowledgeable staff. My first course here but I will go out of my way to come again. Loved it.

This was my second 5 day course at Plas Y Brenin and yet again another awesome week. The advanced scrambling course delivered so many skills and ticked all the boxes of what I wanted to learn and experience. Alex and Pete were excellent, they explained things clearly, they were full of knowledge about the skills and the area and really approachable. I felt safe at all times and they helped me build the confidence to feel safe in my own skills. The centre is spot on and set up for everything you need. Clean rooms, great food, good bar and a friendly atmosphere. Already booked my next stay.

Brilliant 2 weeks with PyB - Scottish Advanced Winter Mountaineering followed by Scottish Classic Winter Climbs. Highlights were Curved Ridge on Buachaille Etive Mor and Tower Ridge on Ben Nevis - but there were lots of great days in between.

Excellent instructors and leaders. Courses are exceptionally well curated. Accommodation and food are great. Highly recommended - all levels of ability are catered for.

Amazing location with great views from the restaurant/bar. Storied history and really friendly staff. The instructors were great, very personable, experienced, and knowledgeable. The winter skills course was as hoped and the instructors found a great spot for snow skills given the conditions. The stores were very well stocked (like a sweet shop for gear lovers) and the free drying rooms and laundry a welcome addition given the conditions. Accommodation was clean and tidy (if a little creaky, but forgivable in such an old building). Food was good and varied and the bar well stocked. Got lucky on timing and my stay coincided with an excellent BMC lecture which was a nice bonus. Will definitely be going back for future courses

Highly recommend this place, nothing bad to say!! Go for it, you will love it!
