With the Railboard iPhone or iPad app, you can save lots of money by finding super-cheap split train tickets. Plus, you have easy access to live train times powered by National Rail Enquiries.
With Split Tickets, our clever algorithms find combinations of tickets that together offer the same journey but at a lower price than a regular ticket.
This is done by splitting regular train tickets at calling points along the journey. So instead of one ticket from A to C, you have two tickets from A to B and B to C. Cancelled train.
Booking was straightforward however train was cancelled, offered alternative but wasn’t able to make it work but offered full refund. Very straightforward.

excellent experience
It was an excellent experience. And £20 cheaper than my attempt to book through the Northern rail app. The itinerary and explanation of when to get on and off was particularly helpful and appreciated as were the links to “real” timetables. Hugely recommended.

The safeguarding of children on trains…
The safeguarding of children on trains is completely invisible. Children between 11-16 unsupervised and without tickets on hearing conversations getting on and off the train between stations and not one ticket collector or adult in sight.

Not ideal there weren't enough staff about to check tickets and keep an eye on things. So I appreciate that it wasn't exactly the best experience.
Although, as a ticket retailer, while we try to make the ticket buying experience as good as possible, there's not much we can do about how many staff each train operating company deploys on their services.
Hopefully your journeys in the future are better!
