Still overpriced, still a monopoly
Still overpriced, still a monopoly (in my mind).
Small scale publisher here from Scotland. In the past I'd have been able to pitch to companies like Tesco or Asda directly by creating industry contacts. Now, I get pushed to using RangeMe as the only valid way to approach retailers. To do that I must pay a fee just to have that interaction. It would be ok if that was a reasonable fee, but it's wholly unreasonable for a small business. setting aside the pointless £99 fee level which doesn't even allow direct submission. Min fee is £1,399 but realistically you need the £2,499 to get anywhere. And that's only if you are VAT registered, try adding 20% on top.
Books, if most people don't know, don't have a high margin. You have to offer a wholesale discount of 40%-55%, and after printing costs etc you are lucky to make 1%-4%. So, if a book retails for £19.99 you'd have to sell over 15,000 copies to just break even with RangeMe's cost. Then remembering retailers can return any unsold books and claim back the wholesale cost, you can guarantee that sales figure is well over 25,000. Again, just to break even!
Why not offer services for small suppliers? Deals that are linked to successful retailer uptake? Or maybe a price linked to supplier size? Or, how about some kind of one-off submission cost to get in front of specific retailers. Or just share the risk with the small supplier.
Now I should mention the free submissions to Asda or Tesco, you can submit once, and only once, to the retailers. So, god forbid you add any new products to your portfolio, you just have to hope the retailer happens across your advert infested supplier page. Then there is the £99 fee just to add more than 3 products. It doesn't cost that much to manage the database.
But there is no incentive for RangeMe to care. They get a fee from the supplier, and I'd bet they get a fee from the retailer, so where is the incentive to do right by either party? And I can get it from the RangeMe PoV, why care about the small suppliers, they aren't value assets at the end of the day. So this acts as a monopoly paywall which actively disincentivises and disenfranchises new companies trying to get their products in front of retailers.
As a note, discount all the "invited" reviews and you will quickly see what people really think of the service. And then read the responses, they all read as AI generated apologetic responses. But actions speak louder than those responses, and RangeMe hasn't changed in the nearly 2 years since my first review, even though the response suggested they take feedback seriously and use it to improve.
Tried reporting to trading standards in the UK as a monopolistic practice or gatekeeper, but because you can technically still directly contact retailers (even though they push you back to RangeMe) and not all retailers require RangeMe (even though all major UK retailers do) trading standards does not consider RangeMe a monopoly or gatekeeper.
So here I am stuck, either hoping that a buyer from one of the major retailers happens across my tiny supplier page on RangeMe, or that RangeMe actually make changes that help small suppliers. Neither point seems likely to me. Until then I'll keep making reviews of RangeMe in the hopes they actually listen. Our Customer Success Manager is a game changer
We've had a great experience with RangeMe so far. We began our journey with RangeMe almost 2 years ago. We started out working on our page and offering ourselves and got some decent results. However, we recently renewed our subscription with the added benefit of working with a Customer Success Manager. James Baldock has been amazing. His suggestions and assistance has made all the difference in the world for us. James helped us redesign our banner page to make it more appealing to buyers. He gave us advice on how to sharpen our messaging to entice prospective buyers to more closely review our product offering. I believe his suggestions helped us get an invitation to Walmart' Open Call in October of this year which went well for DripLip. James is amazing.

If there was minus -5, I will give them that. Immediately they collected my premium money, no support, no replies, nothing. I did not get any benefit feom them all i got was a debt as a new company. Very pathetic and unhelpful. Theu guy whol collected the money did not even acknowledge receipt of payment. When u call them, nobody helps.AVOID at all cost. All they are looking for is their money. If it lands in their account, that's it. Date of experience is for the duration of the premium plan AVOID AT ALL COST. Very disappointed. Its a rip off and looks to me like a scam. Never again. Very disappointed.

Great experience and real results!
RangeMe has been such a helpful platform for us. As a small but growing brand, it gave us a real chance to connect with big retailers that would’ve been difficult to reach otherwise.
The process was clear and easy to follow, and I was thrilled to see our brand approved by 7-Eleven through the platform. The RangeMe team is also very responsive and professional — you can feel they truly care about helping brands succeed.

Shocking Lack of Support BUT working on improvements
10/1/25 Update...
As a result of my 1-star review on 9/25/25 RangeMe contacted me to help rectify the problems I had adding new items, and the rep told me they are working on improving their support. I changed my rating from 1 star to 3 because they appear to be interested in correcting their support problems. The rep also offered to extend our premium subscription for a year and work with us to maximize the odds of securing new business on their platform. It's encouraging to see they are motivated to improve.

No support available whatsoever, only an endless loop of useless unhelpful bot responses. No chat option, no phone support, no email support.
Complete lack of support is inexcusable for any company and I strongly encourage you to avoid RangeMe, don't waste your time and money.
Also, I've subscribed to RangeMe for 6+ years and never secured ANY new business from the platform.
My most recent frustration is numerous rejections while trying to add new products, attempting 15-20 different item names and all were rejected although they appear to comply with their listed standards. I initially entered 4 new items and 1 was accepted and published on the first try BUT the other 3 are rejected repeatedly citing non-compliant names. The 3 rejected names are similar format, length, and type as the item that was approved, so there is no way to determine why their system is rejected the other 3 items.
I'm done 9/25/25.

I’ve loved using RangeMe from day one. The platform has given me the opportunity to connect directly with the right buyers for my company and opened doors that would’ve been hard to reach otherwise.
