He just threw around some bait blocks for the rats which I could have done myself - I paid over $350 for what I could have done myself for a fraction of the price. I still have rats. He also told me contradictory information to trustworthy pest controllers who I have since consulted (they actually solved the problem). Also tried to justify the price because he was also going to treat for mice, when mice just take the same bait. Scam - stay away

PS by the way don't trust the "positive reviews" they also have positive reviews on their website which are obviously fake. You will find one "positive" review here which says that they rescued a pigeon from a wall cavity and but when they opened up the wall they actually found three pigeons to rescue. Hmmm I don't thinks so.

A PIECE OF ADVICE: STAY AWAY. DODGY SERVICE AND SCAMMERS‼️
I contacted this service and I was told my treatment would cost 200 but when the technician guy arrived at my house he told me I would need to pay $750 because it is a double storey. I queried this cost but they insisted on me paying $750 telling me that these rats would disappear immediately and the treatment is valid for a year. And if I experience any rats in 6 months I should contact them so they can retreat. After a week I was experiencing these rats like before and I’ve been contacting them for five months with promises that they will come and treat my house. They have made me sit and wait for them for countless times and I’ve complained about this but they keep promising and never show up. I’ve learnt that this service is a dodge service ran by crooks preying on innocent residents. Never run through their website or contact them they are not who they say they are and they don’t do what they say they do.

Dodgy operation – misleading website and poor service

Booked this company based on their website claims of a full mouse inspection, rodent pest control, and 6 months guarantee. That is not what was delivered.
I spoke with Alex to book rodent control in the roof and his technician came next day and charged $550 for 10 mins job. I still having issues in the roof, tried to call Alex and he promise will send someone, but no one came. Now he’s not even answering my calls and messages.
Very dodgy and misleading people. I’m making a formal complaint to consumer affairs and reporting to other groups to beware about these people.

Beware, beware, another decent person scammed by this company. Called this morning and received a quote to remove a dead rat and apply sanitisation prevention trestement for $200-$280 same day service in roof of y 3 bedroom single storey home. Sherry arrived at 1.45pm. Gone by 2.04 pm. Charged me a whopping $1500, single older female home alone felt very intimidated to pay or else, I tried to challenge the charges but forced to pay into a bank account. I will be reporting to consumer affairs and the Victoria ombudsman as well as making a police report if i don't receive a full refund. Invoice lists Top One Maintenance, prime pest control, Victorian rats and mice control.

Taim and Nick visited my property last month to remove birds nests from the roof of my double storey house.
They removed 7 nests and also blocked the entry points.
While doing that they also found a dead rat in my roof cavity and they also treat my roof to stop rodent getting in there anymore.
They are cost friendly and affordable, I was quoted 1500-2000 for bird proofing by other companies. These guys complete the job at 1200 which was fair enough for there 6 hours of continuous struggle.
I'm very happy with there service and I'll strongly recommend them to my friends and family and to everyone.

I had 4 bedrooms house in endevours hill. All of a sudden my house was infested with bedbugs, i called this company online, they came inspected the property provided me a price of 165/room. I agreed and then the next day they visited again and done the treatment. After the treatment they came next day and pressure cleaned the mattress, couch , rugs and everything.
The bugs are gone in few days.

They are quick and honest. These guys really are helpful. I had a bird stuck in one of our walls. I called two different companies, they came and charge me 120 and 159 respectively for their visit and inspection. They didn’t rescued the bird at all. I then tried and called more people and I found these guys. I was concerned about the poor pigeon. Two of the technicians arrived at my property and they said they will need to cut a small portion of the wall to get an access to release the bird. They said the whole process gonna cost me 285 plus gst and they will also block the entry point on 145 extras. I was happy with the price and they start doing what they know they were doing. Upon cutting the portion of the wall I was shocked to see there were 3 pigeons stuck and was almost dying. They rescued all three of them. They repaired my wall and they also blocked the entry point. I tried to pay them 100 dollars extra for their help and they refused to take 100 dollars as a tip. People must share there views but I consider this my duty to share what I have seen. I have seen a 100% honesty and hardworking ethic.

What a scam!
I made a booking via the phone number listed on ratandmicecontrol.com.au website, 0466660066. I was quoted $280 and to my surprise they sent someone out that afternoon.

When the guy arrived he didn’t make any real effort to assess the issue and seemed surprised to see rats running around the yard. He then told me he would have to put baits under the house as well as in bait stations outside and said it would cost $370 (With gst added it ended up being $407). The guy literally just tossed baits around randomly under the house from the access door (didn’t go underneath or attempt to put any where the main issues were). When I asked reasonable questions in regard to safety and when I asked him about the parts of the service listed on the website that he didn’t appear to be doing, he laughed at me like I was stupid.

I was then surprised to find that the invoice I received had a different company name, Top One Maintenance, but at the time I just assumed the main company must’ve been hiring contractors when they were overloaded.

When booking the job I had asked if I would be able to pay the invoice in 2 days time and they had agreed. When that day came I was hounded by the technician. Voicemails and text messages pressuring me to pay immediately. I then found there was no account number or payment info on the invoice (weird!) and when I asked how I was supposed to pay, the technician told me to pay him directly via payID.

4 weeks later there’s been little to no improvement to the situation. In fact, the rats are absolutely out of control! So today I called both the phone number I originally called to make the booking, along with the mobile number listed on the invoice. Neither phone number would connect. I suspect they have blocked my number so I can’t complain. This got me suspicious so I looked online and I found a lot of similar complaints and bad reviews which I really wish I’d seen before booking them. I feel so stupid for trusting the (clearly fake) reviews on their website. I’m on a low income so the fact that I now have to pay to have another pest control company come and do the job properly really hurts.
I will be making a formal report.

After noticing rodents droppings at our home I contacted rat and mice control after reading the reviews on their website which I believe are fake as you cannot leave a review or click on them, I had someone from the company come to our home and place down bait station which from reading on their website for a 3/4 bedroom home is $260/$380 we were charged a ridiculous $780 for a three bedroom. We spoke about our concerns of having two dogs around the bait station and were guaranteed they would not be able to get to the poison and were completely pet friendly within ten minutes on them being put down our dog was able to get to one of them and open it outside getting to the poison, we rushed our dog to the emergency vet and they had to induce vomiting which cost us another $500 and then another $200 for a follow up visit.
I then tried to email the company which kept bouncing back so I called the number and spoke to Alex who told me no worries he would refund me for the service as we had to remove the bait stations and he would send me the $780 on the coming Tuesday which is their “pay day” the Tuesday then come up and I was sent nothing contacted him again and he told me it would be within the next couple of days after again receiving nothing I tried to ring him and my calls were forwarded to message bank I asked my mum to call of her number which he immediately answered and told mum the money had been sent and we would get it within a couple of days this went on for months being told it’s being sent or it would be the next day or your getting it at 12pm or “you need to wait a bit” after explaining to him we are a young family who have just had a newborn baby we were just lead on to believe we would be refund to be told his not sending it to us after months of waiting and being lied to about the money being sent back to us.
I would highly recommend staying away from the company at all cost.

These guys are fast and amazing.
I dealt with 2 more companies before these guys no result.
After I contact these guys they send a technician name sherry in 2 hours . He inspected the whole property completely including both roof spaces as well as walls.
He was very nice and helpful guy.
After the inspection I was quoted 585 for both rats and mice treatments.
I paid 585 and after 2 weeks now I’m completely satisfied as my problem is solved .
My personal experience with these guys are overall amazing and five for their work.

I booked Rat & Mice Control Melbourne after seeing their professional-looking website claiming “203 five-star Google reviews.” That claim turned out to be false, it’s just a fake image. There are no genuine Google reviews for this business at all.

I was quoted by 'alex' iqbal.taimu' is his gmail and phone 0466660066 $300–$350 for a full treatment of a simple mice problem in my double-storey, 4-bedroom home. The quote included a full property inspection inside/outside, walls etc, prevention advice, and a 14-month warranty. What I received was nothing close to that.

The technician's behavior was quite sheepish and odd. He also didn't know anything about pest control when questions were asked. He VERY briefly looked in the roof cavity, glanced at one toilet room, placed a single bait under the kitchen sink (only after I insisted), threw a few pellets into the lightwell outside, and put one sachet in the roof. That was it. He ignored my repeated concerns about fireplaces and visible mouse activity elsewhere, kept saying “don’t worry about holes,” and gave no prevention advice at all. He also told me the treatment would last “2–3 years,” which is completely false.

I was then charged $700 - double the original quote split into “Mice Control $350” and “Rats Control $350.” I was never told the price would double if rats were found, and no separate rat service was performed. The website's pricing structure claims to be 'honest' with A 3–4 bedroom home listed as $260–$380, and carcass retrieval and reactivation as $280–$390. There is no mention that rats and mice are charged separately or that detecting both would double the cost. When I questioned it, the owner (Alex) admitted in writing that each treatment costs only $240–$280 with a 6-month guarantee, which still doesn’t justify $700.

To make things worse, the invoice wasn’t even from Rat & Mice Control Melbourne it came from Top One Maintenance Pty Ltd (ABN 71 673 441 828), a completely different business name that was never mentioned before payment. It contained no itemised breakdown & just two vague lines with amounts. When I asked for a proper invoice and warranty clarification, Alex ignored me, replying only “ok” and “please do so, thanks” when I said I’d contact Consumer Affairs.

I felt pressure to pay alone with my kids and paid by bank transfer (their preferred method). Since the so-called treatment, we still find mouse droppings and have had to buy and place our own bait. You could literally go to Bunnings and pay absolute maximum $25 for what he did.

After reporting this to Consumer Affairs Victoria, I've discovered another nearly identical complaint by a customer below via Trustpilot. Her experience mirrors mine - same ABN, same technician, same pattern of false promises, short visit, no follow-up, and no real service. She also uncovered that this business trades under multiple names: Rat & Mice Control Melbourne, Pest Control Victoria, Top One Maintenance, and Prime Pest Control.

I now believe this business is intentionally misleading consumers, using fake review claims and multiple trading names to appear legitimate while providing minimal work and demanding full payment upfront.

I’ve lodged a formal complaint and will continue pursuing this until I receive a full refund and the business is properly investigated.

Avoid this company at all costs. Their website and advertising are deceptive, their “203 5-star reviews” are fake, and their conduct is unethical.

I will be more than happy to share footage of this man and his van from our security cameras if required, I now believe 'Alex' is the technician and this is a one man con artist. Avoid!

Same experence as below really, via the company name of 'Melbourne Possum Catchers'. Same main phone number on the website. The Rats and Mice website is almost a direct copy.

This company is a scam and seems to operate under multiple names, none of which can be found on Google Reviews.

Alex was initially responsive and helpful, and sent Haider to complete the inspection. Was told the inspection would take 30-40 minutes and that they would find all holes, lay poison, seal holes, and provide a 1 year guarantee.

Our Airbnb guest who reported the mouse said Haider, the technician, was there for only 15 mins, he found two internal holes in the back of cabinets (which the guest pointed him to), laid poison, said we'd need to get a carpenter to cover one hole as it was too big for him to cover (10cm), and the he suggested we needed to fill the other hole with steel wool. He did not do this.

When I queried Alex about this, he told me we couldn't cover the internal holes for 14 days until the poison had worked, which didn't make total sense to me, since they were internal wall holes, not external, and surely the holes we needed to leave open were external. No mention of any external holes found.

Their website states that holes will be sealed, so this felt misleading, as I'd assumed paying a few hundred dollars would cover the whole thing, sealing holes and all, as stated.

I paid the invoice, and asked for a report of the locations of holes found since there didn't seem to be any mention of any external holes where the mouse had gained access to the house. I also asked where the poison was placed. No response from neither Haider nor Alex, who was extremely responsive right up until I paid the invoice.

I repeatedly texted and called both Alex and Haider periodically over the following 2 months, and heard nothing back apart from one message from Alex to say Haider would get back to me with a report, and a text from Haider saying he's sick and will get back to me later (he didn't, despite multiple follow ups). Nothing more despite repeated texts and calls over two months.

I believe that Haider and Alex's other "technicians" do not have any training in pest control, and that Haider did not look for or find any external entry points. Their website is misleading, making it sound like a full service that includes sealing holes, but it's not, it’s a scammy operation that gets untrained “technicians” to chuck down some cheap poison and do a half-arsed job just barely convincingly enough that you pay them and then they disappear. Highly doubt the “1 year warranty” is of any use.

Their website mentions 203 x 5 star reviews on Google, but I’ve now realised this is an screenshot, not a live count, and there is no such listing nor any reviews on Google at all.

Overall a very frustrating experience that wasted a tonne of time and money paying our handyman to come in and fill the holes.

I now believe we got scammed by someone who has great SEO and a great website, but no actual experience with pest control nor care for customer service.

Update: after 2 months of no response I sent screenshots to Alex/ Iqbal Taimu and Haider of the other 2 x 1 star reviews above that have been added since my review, and he finally responded after months of radio silence: “delete this reviews otherwise I’m going to soo you”.

I told him I wouldn’t delete my review, but that if he didn’t refund me I was willing to put in hours of time reporting him for fraud to banks, scam watch, consumer affairs, etc. Remarkably, after a few days of back and forth (suddenly Alex was very communicative), he did actually refund me!

Update 2: The mouse is still alive and well, and was discovered by another set of Airbnb guests 2 months after Haider's visit.
