We hired Red Box Web Design Stafford to manage the SEO and Google Ads for Spotted Lizard Prints, expecting professional support to help grow our online presence, increase website traffic and improve our visibility in Google search results.

Unfortunately, despite investing in these services over an extended period, we saw no measurable improvement in our organic traffic or overall website performance. The attached graph reflects our experience, showing very little movement throughout the period Red Box was managing our SEO and Google Ads.

During the project, we raised our concerns with the owner, Rob, on several occasions. As a goodwill gesture, Red Box provided two months of complimentary SEO. In total, Red Box managed three months of paid SEO and Google Ads, followed by two additional months of complimentary SEO, giving a total of five months of active marketing. Despite this extended period and the additional work provided, we did not experience the growth in traffic or online visibility that we had hoped for, and our concerns remained unresolved.

In your reply, you suggested there had been no active marketing. However, from our perspective, there was a significant amount of marketing undertaken through the combination of SEO and Google Ads over those five months. The question we were left asking was not whether marketing had taken place, but why it failed to produce measurable results. In our opinion, supported by the traffic graph we have shared, the activity carried out did not translate into meaningful website visits or business growth.

To compare approaches, we later instructed CTO Digital to carry out a small trial at a cost of just £100. From our experience, this was the point where we first saw a noticeable improvement in our online presence, with increased visibility in Google search results and genuine visitor activity reflected on the graph. That comparison gave us confidence in the direction we wanted to take for the future of our business.

This review reflects our own genuine experience and opinions as a customer. We would encourage any business investing in SEO, Google Ads or digital marketing to monitor performance regularly, request clear reporting and ensure that the work being carried out delivers measurable results and value for money.

While we appreciate that this was achieved, our experience was that a single ranking did not translate into meaningful website traffic, enquiries or business growth. Given that the website was marketed as SEO-ready, was supported by five months of SEO work and had Google Ads management alongside it, we feel there was sufficient opportunity for those services to demonstrate measurable results.
