Bait and Switch scam

I ordered a basket for my employees that included 7 items. When they arrived, only 2 of the items matched the description on the website - and the substitution items were NOT "of equal or greater quality" - especially the wine. As another reviewer said, it's clearly Ocean State Job Lot clearance inventory. I'm embarrassed to give these to the recipients.

Bait & switch Scam alert Avoid this company

WISH I COULD COMPLAIN WITH 0 STARS ....My niece sent the "chocolate chai birthday box " see their presebtation on web site( and a dead broken orchid plant ).what i recieved was IMITATION!!!!! honey in a plastic squeeze bottle and 7 outdated lindt chocolate bars ( as seen at ocean state job lot)
I was shocked anyone would send this ,so i checked their web site ...what they present as a choice was a lovely thoughtful gift. What i recieved was embarressing.And never in a million years would my niece send such junk. After writting 3 messages for this excuse of a gift basket...
broken ripped box full of inedible and outdated junk extremly damaged outdated goods from ??? dollar store junk. companies response was a generic response stating sender agreed to substitutions of equal quality.!!!!!! When ordering.A
Clear indication of inferior goods if this was the substitution of equal guality.
I was the one who recieved the gift .my first reaction was not pleasure or joy but I thought who would send such an insulting
gift ? STAY AWAY DO NOT THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY !!!!! IMITATION honey in plastic squeeze bottle. Dont insult or burden your loved ones with
outdated substitutes even not outdated they are inediable. Save your money and your dignity avoid at all costs !!!!!!

Essentially a scam with delivery the way it is

Ordered a basket on their website and requested a specific delivery date. When the order shipped it shipped from California and head a delivery date of over a week later than requested. Business should not call itself Rhode Island baskets if they are shipping from California.

Custom basket was terrible

I ordered a custom basket that I chose to include Josh Prosecco, cheese, Bruschetta, Antipasto for $80. I paid 19.99 for delivery in 2 days. It arrived to the recipient 1 week later. The Prosecco was a different brand, the cheese was ok, there was a random spread included and then they put in a jar of SAUERKRAUT!! Sooooo embarrassing! I reached out to customer service and they basically said "custom" basket meant anything that was available at the time. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND DISGUSTED!!

God Awful Experience

By far, the worst experience I’ve had with a business. They advertise being able to ship in 24 hours. It took 6 days to deliver and they only dropped off at a dock on Block Island. It never actually made it to its destination. I didn’t receive a confirmation email when I ordered; I was on hold for more than two hours trying to cancel; by the time I reached them, they said they couldn’t cancel or refund. I realize they are called Rhode Island Baskets but they are a Canada-based company. Do yourself a favor and look for another place to order from. They were the absolute worst organization I have dealt with and wouldn’t want anyone to experience what I did.

MajorFail for Rhode Island Baskets

On July 13, I placed an order for the fruit and champagne basket, and upgraded my order for a more premium champagne, with next day delivery- when I check for delivery status on the delivery date July 14- it said it would now be a week. On that new delivery date, July 20, I checked status and it still had not been shipped. I contacted customer service and they apologized and said it would be delivered the next day July 21.. I expressed concerns that it should have fresh fruit and he guaranteed it would be delivered with fresh fruit. It did not arrive the next day. At that point, I cancelled my order and received a prompt refund. That was on July 22. On Tuesday, July 25, a basket arrived at the intended destination. The fruit was rotted, the basket broken, and a cheap red wine was delivered. I was pretty horrified and contacted customer service again. As I did not have any pictures to send, I let it drop- I had also gotten my refund. Then, on Tuesday August 1, ANOTHER basket was delivered with rotten fruit, broken boards, and more cheap red wine. I sent the pictures to customer service, and their response was yeah too bad we already refunded you. At that time, I was looking for nothing more than to share how bad their service is- I was not looking for anything more. I would highly recommend using any other service than Rhode Island Baskets
