The tank was not clean and return instructions were not detailed enough as just said ‘return to store’. I just used the collection instructions in reverse for return.

Overall, it's good equipment and it is very effective at cleaning carpets, once you get the hang of it. However, there are a couple of issues which caused us some hassle. (1) The first issue was that the unit we rented had not been cleaned by the previous renters, and was consequently really filthy - I had to spend 60 minutes carefully cleaning the tank, suction pipe, base, rollers, brushes, etc before we used it ourselves, to prevent it from just depositing dirt into our carpets rather than picking it up. I was a bit disappointed that this had not been identified and rectified by rug doctor before it was re-let to us. (2) The unit takes a little time to get familiar with, and it's pretty easy to dump a load of water into your carpet while you're doing that. That water spill then becomes a hassle to remove. I would recommend new users getting used to its operation on lino or a similar surface, so that you can mop up spills during your learning phase, before you really start using it. (3) It uses up a lot of shampoo. Each cleaning cycle will only cover a fairly small area before it uses all the water and needs replenishment. Be prepared!

I have used rug doctor before and the machine has been great. Unfortunately on this occasion the machine we hired appeared faulty. Did not clean the carpet and left streaks all over. Ended up using our vax spot cleaner which did a much better job.

Booked one at Tescos which was effortless. Transporting the device was and cleaning liquids were expensive. The machine was easy enough to use and have instructions on their site. I don't like you have to pay extra for the extension however that's a must for small areas especially for the stairway. Both the extension and power cables are super long and could reach the whole house. 1st time using this machine and I can feel it working. Unfortunately I did not have enough cleaning shampoo to go through the carpet til water clear. It got rid of a lot of crap over the years.

Machine was good initially but the brush bar stopped working the hand tool wasn't in the cabinate as paid for and the cable wasn't securely attached to the machine as the retaining nut was off. It's a shame having driven some 26miles to pick it up and couldn't get full use of it. Would use again if it's all sorted and everything paid for was supplied.

Very disappointed , picked up machine and I had to spend time cleaning it before I started on my work . The top filter was covered and had to clean and the underside of machine was b covered in hair and fluff . Very bad machine should be checked and cleaned between hire

The carpet cleaner’s handle broke just as I started using it. The rivets had detached from the plastic, which made the machine difficult to control. However, I reported the issue but i managed to finish the cleaning and I didn’t request a replacement at the time, although customer support offered one. The phone support was helpful and provided good service

The hire was easy once I arrived in store the staff member mentioned this is done online and a code is sent to access the locker.

The machine does give the carpet a good scrub. I find it doesn’t get right to the edge unlike other machines as the scrub brush is further back.

Hiring is easy and drop off without filling out any paperwork in branch

Everything worked out fine but I would have liked a leaflet giving advice on its use, yes I know one can go on u Tube but I don’t happen to use that.
Job done and the carpets looke the better for it.

The machine left stripes in my carpet and made it look worse than it started. I will now have to clean it again with a different carpet cleaner or hire a professional. Would not recommend

Machine worked very well, quick and easy to hire the machine and tools. Well worth the money

We picked up the carpet cleaner in-store at the range and it was filthy both inside the suction area and also underneath, had to clean it before using. Staff in store just said that they used to do it, but no longer did. The rug cleaner also spat out water from the side no matter how we used it. Watched multiple videos and tried several ways of using the machine but kept pumping out fluid and carpets were sodden.

Great machine, I did have an issue getting the machine out of the locker because the wrong code was sent to me which required me to call through to customer service, but was swiftly rectified.
