I recently lost my dog roxi at age 7…
I recently lost my dog roxi at age 7 no signs of illness till out walking her leg just snapped in half. Due to bone cancer so sadley had to let her go peacefully. cut a long story short vets bills £2500 .£1100 was taken of vet fees leaving me with £1400.Then I'm told I have to keep paying policy on my dead dog for a further 6 months. Didn't see this in the small print. This is shamefully.and so stressful to me.also recive nothing for lost of my beloved dobberman roxy.please think carefully read everything and consider is insurance worth it .to me I just ended up with nothing considering all cost .
Regards phil mayoh iv read your reply to me on trustpilot.i think your policy was not worth the premium and having to carry on paying for 6 moths after dogs death is ridiculous. I will be get anoughter dog at sum point in life but will not be you customer anymore 6 members of my family all have pet insurance with your company and they are shocked on outcome of claim especially paying insurance for a deceased dog would this happen for a deceased human iv learnt a life lesson read small print again and again and double check

Not to be trusted to insure your pet
My first claim has been incorrectly rejected by scratch and patch. They seem to be wriggling out of a claim saying it’s an existing condition when it clearly is not. In their rejection email they are also referencing lots of other terms and conditions as a basis to reject and this seems to be overly legal and not even relevant. Very disappointing and not to be trusted with your pets insurance!

We appreciate that having a claim declined can be upsetting. However, our review confirmed that the decision was made in line with the policy terms and the veterinary history provided. Pet insurance is designed to cover new conditions that arise after cover begins, and unfortunately it does not provide cover where the available veterinary evidence indicates that a condition, or related signs or symptoms, existed before the policy started.
We understand that you may feel your pet's current condition is separate, but all claims are assessed using the veterinary records alongside the policy wording to ensure decisions are fair and consistent for all customers.
Due to confidentiality, we cannot discuss the specific details of your claim publicly, but we remain available to discuss any concerns directly with you, or through our formal complaints process if required.

Great Vaue and Customer Service
Just taken out a second policy with Scratch and Patch via Confused.com which was £240 cheaper than my renewal with Argos!! Same cover, with only an additional £26 in excess.
When I couldn't register the policy due to my details already being in the system, I contacted them via the online chat and CSA Daisy, not only sorted it quickly and efficiently, she also applied a 20% discount to the new policy fee on their multi-pet scheme which I had no idea about.
Thankfully, I haven't had to claim yet, so cannot comment on that front, but otherwise great so far.
