I initially had a very positive experience with Dickson's Pharmacy. The pharmacist I spoke to, Janine, was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and reassuring. I felt confident in her expertise and grateful to have found a specialist pharmacy offering low-dose naltrexone (LDN).

Unfortunately, what followed has been deeply disappointing.

I live with a severe chronic health condition that causes significant pain, fatigue and disability. I was prescribed LDN but was already taking dihydrocodeine, an opioid painkiller. I therefore needed clear, written guidance on safely reducing my existing medication and transitioning to LDN.

Despite contacting the pharmacy six times requesting this information, I never received the written tapering plan I needed. They explained an issue with their email system and I got a call to apologise as well as wmails assuring me they would handle the situation but still no written taper plan.

In the absence of that guidance, I made attempts to reduce my opioid medication myself. This resulted in significant withdrawal symptoms and a deterioration in my already severely limited physical functioning. I am now in an incredibly difficult position with my health, and it is deeply upsetting to think that some of this suffering might have been avoided with appropriate support.

I have since consulted both my NHS GP and a specialist pain management consultant. However, because LDN is not routinely prescribed within their services, neither has been able to provide the comprehensive, LDN-specific advice I need about managing pain and opioid withdrawal during the transition.

This is precisely why I turned to a specialist LDN pharmacy. When patients are prescribed medication that requires careful consideration of interactions with existing treatments, they should be able to access clear guidance and appropriate follow-up.

Instead, months later, I have still not been able to start the medication I was prescribed, despite making repeated efforts to obtain the necessary information.

I genuinely valued Janine's expertise, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. My concern is not with the quality of her initial consultation, but with the failure to provide adequate follow-up support when it was most needed.

I would still welcome Dickson's contacting me to resolve this and provide the outstanding written guidance. I also sincerely hope they review their procedures so that other patients living with serious chronic illnesses are not left navigating potentially difficult medication transitions without the support they need.

Helpful friendly staff. Cost of oxygen chamber very reasonable price compared to others.

Dicksons service is super friendly and helpful. They put me at ease and help me manage my chronic conditions with medication not available on the NHS.

I booked my flu jab and had no problems in doing so

I booked my daughter in for an annual Flu Vaccination(Private) on July the 17th at a high cost of almost £40, using their online system
However, after arriving at the chemist, she was told no vaccine was even available yet. What a waste of time and expense, after taking 2 Uber journeys across the city.

Absolutely shocking service.
This is a paid for service..even nhs with how terrible that is..is better than this..now that is saying something.
Mcas clinic online - appointment is meant to be half an hour..which is nothing. Yet it was under that time. Forms you fill out that take so long..is a waste as they will not even bother reading it. Says they are knowledgeable and serve functional side too..thank God i went in with my own plan because they knew nothing and had nothing to say or add. I was told via email before booking with them, that they can compound the medication..hence why i booked with them. Since the appointment i have been chasing trying to get the medication via numerous emails and calls..2 weeks on and i still have not recieved anything.
I called the clinic (goes to ldn) and i had the rudest most unhelpful person i have ever spoken to..it was truly shocking. They also said on the call they do not compound..so what the heck? Told one thing then told another and have wasted time, energy, money for no reason. They do not give you time..compassion..or help. And instead rude and lazy. Last thing anyone who is ill with such a severe illness like mcas should deal with. I wish I can leave a Google review. This is the first review I have ever left. Honestly.. please dont bother.
UPDATE
Now to add to the insanely bad experience, I was quoted £45 for the medicine, their website states £30 - I thought ok maybe as it is compounded. Now got told after my first bottle it will be OVER DOUBLE the amount they first charged?! How on earth is this all acceptable? I'd never have paid for the meds or booked with them if I knew this! No way I can afford it, and no point trying to work on my body accepting it if I can no longer carry the medication on..so now all I have to show is almost £300 out of pocket, with a lot of unnecessary stress and awful experience.

I booked an appointment for ear wax removal. The online booking was easy, the treatment was straightforward, the explanation and advice clear.

I had my consultation by phone. Lovely pharmacist. Explained everything very well. Received my package. However, no needles or hazards box for needles. I called customer service who advised they were awaiting payment. I explained i was given a price which I thought included everything as no mention of having to pay for hazards box or needles. Anyway quickly resolved and the came on the next post. Not had second consultation. Would like to be able to go to my local pharmacy get properly weighed and blood pressure taken. Hopefully no issues going forward

I have received my LDN bottle, which is great, thank you. However, I'm waiting for my turmeric tablets, which were ordered at the same time.

I really enjoyed my Hyperbaric session . I initially felt a little apprehensive but the lady in charge soon put me at ease. I will book another session as I am hopeful it will aid my mobility problems and Osteoporosis
