Horrendous Experience. AVOID! AVOID!

I bought a cinema sofa from Sofas24 (same people as SLF24) in November 2025. Initially everything seemed promising — quick delivery, decent communication, and they even allowed me to change the fabric I’d originally ordered to “cream teddy bouclé”.

Unfortunately, that’s where things went downhill.

What arrived was not cream teddy bouclé. The sofa was a canary-yellow colour, nothing like the soft, milky cream shown in their photos. The fabric also wasn’t teddy bouclé at all — it was a low-pile, towel-like material more akin to cheap chenille. I was left with what honestly looked like a yellow towel sofa sitting in an otherwise soft cream and stone-coloured living room.

On delivery, one of the feet was broken (they did later send a replacement), but the three cushions shown in the product images were also missing.

I contacted the company and was told a manager would be in touch. I waited three days and heard nothing, so I opened a dispute with my bank. While gathering evidence that the sofa was not as described, I found the exact same sofa being sold on another website, which raised concerns about the claim that it was “handmade in Yorkshire”. A Companies House search showed Sofas24 to be registered as a wholesale furniture company in Derby, not a Yorkshire manufacturer, which felt very misleading.

I then began receiving emails from the manager, Israr Khan. The responses were oddly generic and templated in tone, reading very much like AI-generated correspondence rather than genuine customer service, which only added to the frustration.

He insisted the sofa could only be collected on a weekend, purely because it had been delivered on a weekend. I explained I wouldn’t be available and that, since a bank dispute was now open, I’d been advised to retain the sofa until the outcome — which I did.

At the end of January 2026, I received a formal “Letter Before Action” by email and recorded post, stating I was in possession of a “bespoke sofa” that had not been paid for and demanding immediate payment or weekend-only collection. This was extremely confusing, so I contacted my bank, who confirmed the dispute had already been decided in my favour, although the refund had not yet appeared in my account.

I explained this and said I would make the sofa available once the refund was received, during normal working hours. I then received further messages — again written in the same generic, AI-style language — threatening small claims court and a CCJ on my credit file, containing multiple incorrect statements of law. The tone became increasingly aggressive, to the point I had to warn him about harassment. He continued to email regardless stating he did not agree he was harassing me and imposed weekend dates on me stating he will give me an exact time beforehand, even though I have continuously stated that I am not available on weekends.

To top it off, less than two months in, the sofa has started creaking and the cushions are already losing their shape.

Overall, this has been an incredibly stressful experience. The product quality does not match the advertising, and the handling of the dispute was deeply unprofessional. I would strongly advise others to think very carefully before ordering.

A risk worth taking!

After previously having a bad experience with another well known sofa company, we ordered a similar style sofa from slf24. I have never heard of this company before so we took a risk and ordered our sofa online without viewing first. We ordered at the beginning of December and it was delivered to us on the 16th of January. The communication was excellent and the delivery times were bang on. It was well worth the £25 for them to take away the packaging that our new sofa came in as it was well packed and there was a lot of it. To my surprise and after many weeks of been very anxious and worried the sofa is impeccable, made to a very high standard and is a solid piece of furniture. I can highly recommend from my experience and I will not hesitate to use them again in the near future. From a very happy customer!

Excellent Customer Service!

I'm yet to receive the couch I ordered but the customer service so far have been excellent. From sending material patches, to quick email responses about a price discrepancy on their website which was immediately changed, I must say I am impressed. I will leave another review on the couch when it comes!

Outstanding Quality & Service – well worth the trip down from Cumbria

I had been looking for a modular sofa arrangement for several months and had spent a lot of time visiting several large mainstream sofa suppliers at numerous retail parks in the north west of England.

From viewing their website early on in the search, I was extremely impressed with SLF24. I was unable to find a local supplier who appeared to offer a similar solution in terms of quality, price and versatility so I contacted them to make an appointment.

The customer service professional was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had and showed us a great selection of colours and fabrics. Having tested a lot of showroom sofas over the months their products really stood out in terms of comfort, value and durability.

I am truly delighted with the new ‘Mojo’ sofa and the fantastic customer service received from beginning to end. I cannot recommend SLF24 highly enough and will know exactly where to go in future. Thank you for everything!

Poor handling of damage claim – disappointing service

We ordered a sofa from SLF24 and, unfortunately, the delivery by their chosen courier, Furdeco, resulted in damage to our flooring. The scratches were not immediately visible and only became apparent after we had time to properly inspect the area following delivery.

Despite promptly reporting the issue with photo evidence, Furdeco denied responsibility on the grounds that the proof of delivery was signed at the time of drop-off. This requirement is unreasonable, as customers cannot be expected to detect less obvious damage within seconds of delivery.

The repair cost is around £500—almost half the value of the sofa—and yet no compensation has been offered. While SLF24 initially attempted to liaise with Furdeco on our behalf, they have since stopped responding and have offered no resolution or compensation.

While the primary fault lies with Furdeco, SLF24 must also be held accountable as they engaged Furdeco as their delivery agent and are ultimately responsible for the quality of the service provided to their customers.

Very disappointing experience, and we would caution others to be aware of these issues before ordering.

*FOLLOW UP*
I would like to clarify that my intention is not to “hold SLF24 to ransom” or take advantage of a goodwill gesture. I have clearly stated that the primary fault lies with Furdeco, your appointed delivery agent, and my review reflects the facts of what happened.

Describing my feedback as “extremely unfair” is disappointing, as I have only reported my experience truthfully. Whether SLF24 is a large company or a "small family business" should not change the standard of accountability owed to customers.

Additionally, the sofa itself has not met expectations—despite being advertised as “pet friendly,” it showed visible scratches after briefly kitten-sitting a friend’s cat.

My review stands as an honest account to inform future customers.

We were so disappointed to see this extremely unfair review. We have communicated constantly throughout your claim against the delivery company, despite the damage to the floor not being reported to the delivery team at the time of the delivery. SLF24 had several meetings and constant communication with the delivery company and yourselves and persisted to try and achieve some recompense. There is an extensive email trail to prove this.
Understandably, damage to property is difficult to prove after the event and unfortunately we could not achieve compensation for you from the delivery company, despite our best efforts on your behalf. SLF24 are willing to offer some recompense as a goodwill gesture, if you would please contact us directly, rather than via a review platform.
Update: we must point out that the customer did not select the 'pet friendly' specific fabric option, shown on the website.

Found exactly what I was looking for…

Found exactly what I was looking for online by chance - deliberated for ages about buying before actually seeing or trying the sofa, but having done so successfully once before many years ago, decided to take a chance as no one else seemed to offer exactly what I wanted in terms of size and style. Before ordering had various questions - it was easy to get through to the Customer Service team and they were helpful and patient with my various queries.

Pleased with the short delivery time and absolutely thrilled with the sofa. It is far, far nicer than the image on the website, plus was delighted to find the legs were in fact wooden rather than metal. Also the picture on the website suggests the supporting middle leg would be visible - which thankfully it isn't, as it is hidden from view underneath.

Despite concerns about whether we could get the sofa in the house easily, it was in fact a doddle and Furdeco were great, kindly getting my old sofa out so that I could get it stored in the garage for collection by the Red Cross. Communication from them was great, and I was delighted they arrived at 08.10 on the day of delivery.

For the price paid, it represents exceptional value - though I would have happily paid a bit more for the cushions to be double sided.

Perfect service from start to finish

If I could give 6 stars I would! After typing 'mustard two seater' into Google, I quickly found the perfect settee for my newly decorated room on the SLF24 website. I wanted to double check before ordering that it would definitely arrive in time for a family gathering less than 4 weeks away, so I sent a message via the contact page and was delighted to get a positive response, in less than half an hour, on a Monday evening around 8pm! I ordered the settee and it arrived just 22 days later and I couldn't be more thrilled with it! It's really top notch quality, with super-soft velvety fabric in the perfect mustard colour (not too yellow, not too brown) and, most importantly, It's SO comfy. Tracking the progress of my settee was easy as well - I was sent a link when I placed the order - so I could check for production and delivery updates whenever I wanted. Perfect service - thank you!

Ordered a new sofa from SLF24

Ordered a new sofa from SLF24, sofa looked lovely online with an excellent price. We received the new sofa less than two weeks after ordering, and we are blown away by the sofa which far excels the pictures online, it is absolutely beautiful. When we had a small issue with one of the cushion covers, it was dealt with promptly and professionally by Su, who straight away ordered a new cover for us. The delivery men were excellent, taking great care in positioning the sofa. We are absolutely delighted with the sofa and the service we have received from SLF24. When we are looking for furniture in the future, SLF24 will always be our first choice from now on. Totally deserving of 5 stars, thanks to you all.

Many reasons to choose SLF25

I don’t know where to start!
The company is so professional and kept updated with emails all the way.
The delivery was on time, and the delivery company was brilliant!
The sofas are just wow! I got 3 and 2 seaters blue velluto and they are gorgeous!! AND DO NOT BREAK THE BANK!
I spotted a one very small mark on one of the sofas and got in touch with them few days after it was delivered and they apologised and offered £50 refund if I want to keep the sofa.
Cannot recommend SLF24 enough!

Ordering a Sofa online

I ordered a Sofa from SLF24 and the details on the web page were easy to understand and gave all the details to make an easy choice of the Sofa I wanted. All through the process I was kept up to date with the progress of my order. The expected delivery date was kept and the actual delivery was on time and 2 helpful and polite young men brought my new Sofa into my home. I am very pleased with the style, colour and comfort.

Frustrating delays but sofa good quality

I ordered my sofa around the beginning of December. It stated that it would be delivered before Christmas which was fantastic compared to other companies that were giving a minimum of around 12 weeks delivery time.
On the 16th December, I received an email stating that the sofa had not passed quality control and therefore there would be a delay on the delivery (after Christmas). I was not too disheartened by this as I had rather the correct checks be completed than having a poor quality sofa delivered on time.
Eventually, I had confirmation of delivery for 15th January. However, when the day came, only a section of the sofa was delivered.
I got in touch with SLF24 and let them know within hours about the missing part to the sofa. The communication was quick and polite and they were genuinely apologetic for the situation, stating that I had just got “bad luck” and that this rarely happens. They explained that two parts had been shipped out but the delivery company had misplaced the second part. It was very frustrating as I had been very patient with the first delay. The sofa finally arrived on 17th February. Thankfully, I am very pleased with the sofa; the quality is good and colour as shown on website. I have given three stars due to the stressful delays I endured in receiving it but I do believe that the company did as best as they could in getting my sofa to me.
My main frustration was that they should have not given the delivery company a week or so to try and find the sofa as this added further to my delay.

Can't rate high enough :)

We were slightly concerned about buying a sofa without trying it first, but the reviews were reassuring. I'm so glad we went with this company! Brilliant sofa with our personal choice of fabric and colour, for a really good price that I actually don't think you could match anywhere else. We went for the Mojo corner unit. The clips underneath to join the sections are brilliant, and the fabric (Velluto) is soft to the touch. It's a really large comfy sofa and we're all thrilled to bits with it. From placing the order, to recieving it, the communication and updates were regular and as promised. We recieved the sofa within the promised dates given, and the delivery company was also brilliant. We have used a popular high street furniture store for our previous sofa, which in comparison to this company, was mediocre at most. This company has over delivered on everything and I can't recommend them highly enough. We will definitely be returning customers!

One star is more than I wanted to give! The worst customer service I've ever experienced - and that's when they were trying to get my order. Having made an appointment to visit their showroom and travelled cross country to get there I received an email as I was pulling in to the car park to say that there was noone there to let me in. I'd rather sit on the floor than buy sofas from this shambles of a business

We were gobsmacked to see this! Having offered an appointment to especially accommodate you, OUT OF HOURS, as you were IN THE AREA only for the weekend, we asked you to confirm you were coming to our showroom email address as the warehouse unit is by appointment only. This was requested by my colleague both on the phone and on email. Unfortunately you emailed the wrong address so we did not get your email. We further offered an appointment, by text, for Sunday morning, a day on which we are closed(!) and had no reply. Please, if you want to leave such a damning review to a small family business, make it truthful!
