While this is a four star review, I award that because the people handling my purchase at SLRhut did most things right. However, I bought a bundle and there are a few things the company didn’t make clear:
1) the camera in the bundle would not be boxed or come with a manual. (They explained the ‘white box’ concept to me - which I accept)
2) they are not responsive to email. At all. They ARE responsive to phone calls - but note that this is ONLY during US working hours, even if you purchase from their UK site.
3) product is shipped from the US - again, even though they have a UK presence (maybe this is a stock thing?) - so may take a while to deliver if you aren’t in the states.
4) the other “professional” products in the bundle are made by Optimaxx and other than the lens pen, cloth, and bag are entirely useless. I can’t believe Optimaxx can survive selling lenses/filters that are essentially unusable. Even the UV filter causes blur/aberrations. No beginner photographer would get usable pictures, let alone an actual professional.
However, the company found a camera which is really hard to track down, and got it to me safely at a price I was ok to pay - and for that I’m very grateful.

I am being made to pay £50 for the return postage + £115 in US import customs and taxes, as they refuse to provide me with a prepaid returns label!

Their webpage and customer service is UK-based, but they ship from the US, and that is where you are expected to ship back your item if you change your mind!

The customer service team were BRILLIANT! I had rather an awkward issue which they resolved immediately and faultlessly. Couldn’t have asked for a better team.

A very good camera set, at a great price also there was more than advertised in the box. Quick delivery as well.

Bought a nice wee Olympus camera kit. Had really good communication from the company. Arrived a few days later. Exactly as described. Great wee camera. 1 problem. 2 things missing from the extra kit ordered with camera. Contacted them a response a couple of hours later saying no problem, missing parts are now on their way, Sorry. Arrived by fed-ex a couple of days later. Super efficient and great customer service. That’s how to run a company and fix mistakes. Would recommend them to anyone buying camera equipment. Very very happy customer.

It wasn't clear, at least to me, that this camera was coming from America. If I had realised I would not have ordered. The camera is entirely satisfactory, it replaces a similar one that broke.
However, the delivery was chaotic. FEDEX gave me a delivery date, which was acceptable; alternatives offered were not because of holidays. they then changed the delivery date from Tuesday 1 July to Wednesday 2 July, with no alternatives offered. the only way I could get a message to FEDEX was to give the delivery driver instructions to delay delivery until 14 July - on return from holiday.
On 2 July I received a photograph showing a parcel - the £350+ camera on my doorstep. Fortunately I was able to phone a friend to retrieve it for me - i was on holiday. What a "cowboy outfit"

Sent a NTSC camera to UK which only uses PAL. Ignoring emails, and when you ring them, only get a 'We are busy - please email'. Which they ignore.
May need to claim under Credit Card

I paid £50 for the 3day guaranteed delivery because I need it for a job, the camera took 7 days to arrive. I've contacted customer service for a refund and I've had no response.
I've tried several times to call but never get an answer. I get the impression the company is run by one guy in his bedroom from his mother's house.
Would not recommend or use again!

This company have a fictive UK address, as they are based in the US. If you need to return the product for any reason, you need to return it to the US at your own cost.
They also make it extremely difficult to return, trying to convince you into keeping the product, not replying to emails etc.
I had to pay £260 for a return to US and eventually raising a bank dispute to get money back.

The products they sell are not complaint to UK/EU regulations. There is no UK warranty.

They shouldn't be allowed to sell on UK market.
Stay away from this dodgy company.

Ordered a camera bundle from SLR hut.

Got an email the same day advising it had been despatched. Item was shipped from the USA but only took about 6 days to arrive. The tracking link provided kept us updated on the progress.

The bundle itself is exactly what we were sold - camera charger had a UK plug which I wasn't expecting and all the other items were absolutely fine.

The only thing I haven't read up on is the validity of the warranty with the camera coming from the USA but we knew about this risk before ordering and so can't really complain if there turn out to be any issues.

Have to say we were very impressed with SLR Hut and will definitely use again.

Product not received. The FedEx tracking stops at New Jersey USA on 31 May and just shows an exclamation mark. Emailed The company, they are looking into, but 7 days later no news and FedEx tracking is unchanged.
Have opened a case on PayPal.

on their website the camera was in stock, so i purchased it but then was told 48 hours later it was not in stock and would be 2-3 weeks when back in stock, so i emailed them back saying thats not good enough i want a refund/cancel my order and never herd nothing back. ive tried several times to ring no answer/or reply, ive emailed several times and no answer
so hence the bad review

I found a lens I liked and the listing said it was in stock. I waited 5 days for it to arrive and had received no info, so I called them. Only then did I find out it was out of stock and that they wouldn't be sending it. They even charged me without checking they had it.

Terrible communication doesn't cut it, there was no communication and it totally wasted my time.

I was interested in purchasing a OM System TG6 underwater camera but ended up purchasing the newer version TG7 bundle. Henry was incredibly helpful during the decision process, ordering and paying was very easy and I was kept informed of the progress of the parcel at all stages. The box arrived safely and when I opened it I found that everything was well packaged and was in perfect condition. The bundle was excellent value and I was quite surprised at how much I got for my money. The camera itself is everything I had hoped it would be and was does everything I’d been told it would do, so I’m loving it. I am more than happy to recommend SLRhut for purchases.
