This is a false/fake review. This individual was denied service as we don't accept orders from his country due to heavy fraud/abuse being the norm.

The VPS are using highly abused IPs or Proxies, showing different geolocation for the same IP.
But the worst id the customers support that don't take about the issue.

We have no control over external geolocation databases, we do not own/maintain those, nor is that something we even advertise. We do do our best to update the main geolocation databases, if they offer such methods to do so, but many do not.

Regardless though, upon checking client's support ticket history, the IPs WERE geolocated properly based on the multi-database test site: IPLocation, which he referenced as where he was checking/testing from.

Client stopped responding in support ticket once we showed him that and proved him incorrect. Client then did a payment chargeback, which we then disputed with evidence against his false claims, and is now banned from our service.

The audacity of this spammer.
This is one of the most notorious spammers around these days.
Managed to sneak an order thru fraud checking, and we terminated his account upon review when we found him.
"No reason", thanks for the amusement spammer...

Storage VPS instances from SmartHost are quite impressive, they have a solid fast performance, including native IPv6 address. Sales, Billing and Support departments are 100% managed by professionals. If you want to bring a serious upgrade to your business, SmartHost is the right choice.

User apparently expects us to manage/administrate his operating system when this is an unmanaged service he purchased. We went out of our way and informed him how to do what he was asking himself, when he inquired for help, but apparently he'd rather post a false review here...

This is the worst experience I had ever…

This is the worst experience I had ever in 10 years of business.

The support member is very angry.

There is no refund from them in case they didn't give you what you ordered. If you claim you refund they will threaten you by blacklisting you in the whole industry.

They delivered to me services which are blacklisted in spamhaus, also, with wrong location, when I demanded to change the services or refund me in the same day, then refused and then accused me to be a spammer and they threaten to blacklisting me in the whole industry.

I think I have right to demand changing bad quality delivred under 24 hours, but this unprofesional agent is very angry and have bad emotions against clients.

I have proofs of this experience and conversations with links and screenshoots.

Accusing people to be spammers without any proofs is a crime and unprofessional behaviour.

Your response is a good example how you treat your clients after receiving money.

Service was delivered as ordered. This individual is a spammer for sure. Complains when service was delivered, and is completely belligerent. Accused us of delivering service in wrong location, when we delivered it the exact location he ordered, and he refused to admit his own ordering mistake. Offered to assist him, but he was just a rude jerk, and we will just not deal with this guy further and have blacklisted him within the hosting industry database.

Prompt Resolution and Excellent Communication

I want to thank Shawn M. Arcus and the SmartHost team for their quick resolution regarding a fund clearance issue with PayPal. Despite a delay, they proactively addressed the situation, manually updated the information, and ensured my funds were credited.

Their responsiveness after my TrustPilot review was remarkable, showcasing their commitment to customer satisfaction. I appreciate the transparent communication and efforts put into resolving the matter promptly.

I'm updating my review to reflect the positive experience and commend SmartHost for their dedication to customer support.

Paypal help the funds for over a week, then never notified us via APN that it cleared, so did not autopost to the account. We did inform you Paypal was holding the funds, and you should have inquired again about status when you did not see it post to yor account after it cleared.
We updated it manually for you.

Great prices, stable service and quick reply

In 2023-May I subscribed for a yearly VPS (linux with nvme/block storage) - 10GB + 250GB and so far, cannot say anything bad for the server or support.

Have opened two tickets and both getting solved in reasonable time.

It's used primarily for backups, so not much CPU tax, but is monitored from another vps in another country. The uptime and availability so far are great. Zabbix shows 98.7911% on report.

Good service, would recommend.

Another ridiculous review.

Client ordered service in New York, and was provisioned accordingly, then opened a support ticket requesting a French IP address. Huh? We do not even supply service in France, and client ordered New York location anyways, which we accurately delivered.

Bad things happened to me in Smarthost.

I can't believe the misfortune I've suffered !

All of my VM's port speed were limited to 20Mbps, and the support staff was unwilling to help me in the ticket. No matter how much I try to negotiate with support staff, the response is always arrogant and unhelpful

To add insult to injury, the password to my account has been changed! I had to retrieve my password via email, which is a complete lack of privacy and security.

What's more, my VMs were down for 12 hours that I couldn't connect to them via SSH ! And it seems that the root password were deliberately tampered with, causing me to have to reset the root password

I don't know why Smarthost was bullying me like this. I spent money but the service I got was disgusting! I even wonder if it's racist I'm sick of it

All I want is to at least get rid of the 20Mbps limit on VM port speeds. As for security, I'll figure it out myself.

But after my password/root password was tampered with, I had to explain everything here.

Client was flooding network port, affecting hardware node performance , and services to other clientele. This is a violation of our AUP/TOS. His service was therefore capped, and not suspended, as a reasonable remedy, until he gets such usage under control. Client knows what he was doing, was intentionally doing it, and knows it was wrong. He even used the name "hacker" on his account, and I don't doubt with his usage patterns he is doing something abusing, also against our AUP/TOS.

Any password changes would not be related to the issue at hand. We did not specifically change any passwords due to the above abuse related issue.
