Responsive, reliable, easy to work with

Great experience working with this company. The process was smooth, and all instructions were clear and easy to follow. I didn’t encounter any issues, and everything worked as expected from the start. I can’t speak to the concerns in negative reviews, but my experience was completely positive.

Support agents were very responsive as well.

Very easy to work with this company..

Very easy to work with this company. All instructions were easy to follow and I had no issues with this company. Hopefully they've straightened out the issues mentioned in the negative reviews, but that was not my experience here. Everything worked well from day 1.

SMTP.COM works well.

I use SMTP.COM and SendGrid, and find that SMTP.COM is much simpler and less expensive, especially for wordpress sites. I have used their support and find they have been responsive. The documentation on their site is brief but informative.

SMTP services have been great, as expected.

We needed an outgoing SMTP server with no real need for inbox functionality, so SMTP.com came to the top of our lists when deciding on a service provider. The setup was simple, and when Google changed their DMARC and SPF requirements, SMTP.com provided assistance to make sure we were good to go.

Terrible inboxing, don't make it easy to cancel

Terrible inboxing for transactional emails. They also make you jump through a bunch of hoops to cancel the service. It took multiple emails back and forth before they agreed to cancel the service. They also force you to pay for 30 days from the time of the request even if you aren't using it.

Terrible company

Terrible company. I was not able to add any domains to my account for many days due to a technical issue their side which they admitted and said they would fix. Many days later and hours of chat "support" it was still not fixed. I asked them to cancel my account because of this but they are saying I have to pay for another month due to their cancellation policy.

It is complete insanity to charge a customer another full month of usage when they admitted their service was not operational. I could not manage/add anything my side. The dashboard was frozen and constantly threw an error. Their support team asked for my username and password and they admitted not being able to do it also.

Rip-off scam tactics using the below policy:

Please, be informed that according to our Policy, we require at least 30 days' notice prior to account cancellation.

No other competitor does this. Also, the only company where you need to manually email them and explain why you're leaving to cancel, rather than being able to cancel online.

Disgusting behavior.

Still Trying To Charge My Credit Card! Canceled, never used the company and they really want to steal my money! Don't ever give them your credit card, they have some kind of blocker to make it difficult to stop them from charging you forever!

We've received your request to prevent PAYPAL *SMTP from billing your Capital One® credit card
account. We're only able to block a merchant from charging your account if they use a certain code for
a recurring charge. Even with the correct code, future charges from the merchant may not be blocked.
In this case, the merchant isn't using the required code, which means that you'll need to dispute each
transaction as it posts to your account. If the merchant continues to bill your account, please notify us
and we can begin the dispute process for each charge

What kind of reputable company does that? And thinks that you have to give them a 30 day notice to cancel as service you never used! It's a scam, avoid their "free trial"!

Unbelievably Incompetent: SMTP.com is a Nightmare You Need to Avoid at All Costs

If I could give SMTP.com negative stars, I would. This is, without question, the most disastrous, incompetent, and downright infuriating company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Their entire operation is a joke, and it’s astounding that they are still in business.

First, let’s talk about their servers—or lack thereof. Imagine paying for a service where emails are supposed to be sent promptly and reliably, only to find out that this company can't even get that basic function right. Sending delays are the norm, and when I say delays, I’m talking about emails that are crucial for business being held up for hours, sometimes even longer. For a service whose sole purpose is to send emails, this is absolutely unacceptable.

The website and portal? An utter disaster. Buggy, slow, and constantly glitching, it’s as if their developers decided to stop working on it halfway through. I’ve been locked out of my account multiple times—once for several months!—with absolutely no help from their so-called support team. Their website is a minefield of errors, and navigating it feels like a punishment rather than a service you're paying for.

But the real kicker? They upgraded my account without my consent and began charging me over $600 a month. That’s right, this company decided to play with my hard-earned money without so much as a confirmation or notice. When I tried to cancel in March 2024, it took them an entire month to respond—after I had to chase them down with seven follow-up emails. When they finally replied, they hit me with the most absurd, condescending excuse of needing a 30-day notice. Let’s get this straight: it took them more than 30 days to even respond to me, yet they still refused to cancel my account immediately and pushed it back another month. Even worse, they continued to charge me beyond that point, and here I am in August, still being billed for a service I canceled months ago.

SMTP.com is the epitome of incompetence, greed, and customer neglect. They have zero respect for their customers, and their business practices are shady at best. This company is not just terrible; it’s a liability to any business that relies on timely and effective email communication.

There are countless better alternatives out there that actually value their customers and provide the services they advertise. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from SMTP.com as humanly possible. This company is a nightmare, and your business deserves better.

Be careful of autorenewal trap!

So the renewal kicks in automatically. No email is sent that renewal will kick in. You are expected to remember that there is 30 days notification required.

So the payment is taken, I then cancel, realise I do not use this service. SMPT says because you did not give us 30 days notice we will charge you for a whole year. I have canceled as not using it! SMPT enjoy 11 months of my money when I'm not even using it!

Total waste of money

Total waste of money. They promise to prevent your emails from going into junk but it's not true. I don't even email that many people - less than 300 a week - and my emails were going to junk. I called to cancel and they claim you need 30 days to notice to cancel. Save your money and go with a different provider.
