We're genuinely disappointed to read this review, particularly as this guest has stayed with us multiple times in the past without issue or complaint.
To clarify: the guest initially contacted us about a loose toilet roll holder and a slightly wobbly shower door handle. We acknowledged both issues promptly and explained these would be easily fixed after check-out, as they were minor and did not affect the use of the facilities. We always do our best to accommodate guests during their stay, but we also have to work within reasonable boundaries when a property is already occupied.
Regarding the claims of stained bedding and cleanliness: our cleaners take full video documentation both before check-in and after check-out. These are in place specifically to prevent misunderstandings. We even sent the guest photos showing the clean sheets being placed on the bed, and the used ones being removed—standard procedure for all guests.
As for towels: we provide white bath towels and blue hand towels in the bathrooms. This is intentional. White towels are left on beds, and blue towels are used for hands because white towels are often ruined by makeup and fake tan stains. Why the colour of a towel has become an issue in this review is unclear, but again, we’ve made this choice to maintain hygiene and practicality for all guests.
What this review doesn’t show is what we were receiving on our end: long, repeated paragraphs of complaints, many of which contradicted previous messages. Despite our best efforts to respond respectfully, the constant and escalating nature of the communication forced us to block the guest on WhatsApp due to harassment.
Lastly, regarding outdoor cleanliness: this is a penthouse directly on the beachfront. While we ensure outdoor areas are cleaned before check-in, we obviously cannot control seagulls or the natural environment during a guest’s stay.
We host hundreds of guests every year and are proud of the thousands of 5-star reviews we’ve earned. Sadly, there will always be the occasional guest we cannot satisfy, no matter how hard we try. We stand by our team, our standards, and our commitment to excellent guest experiences.
