I arrived at 730am after flying in from Australia and am still sitting in the foyer over 6 hours later. I have been told I should have made an early check in request. Haven’t had a shower now for coming up to two days and seems they are not able to get my room cleaned or put me in another room
Avoid
Their LA hotel onerously charged our card 800 USD (550 USD over the deposit) for claimed damages which we categorically did not cause, and sent us a snotty email claiming the decision “was final”.
We got the money back after a very sternly worded email back and threat of legal action, but they didn’t have the decency to reply.

Éviter à tout prix ! FRAUDE. Le suivi et service client n'est pas à la hauteur. Nous avons annulé une réservation et n'avons pas pu nous faire rembourser comme mentionné sur les conditions de vente. Impossible de se communiquer par téléphone au service client, uniquement par messagerie. La personne contactée sur le chat n'a jamais accepté de donner son nom. Un responsable devait nous rappeler ce qui n'a jamais été fait. Nous n'avons jamais été remboursés de notre séjour annulé.

To echo everybody else here, it feels like a scam so I would avoid. Quoted me one price and charged me a higher price. I asked their customer service for help and they advised their pricing is 'dynamic' and 'the price you see online does not reflect the actual charge once booked'.
Reservation Cancelled 1 hour before check in
Hotel cancelled our reservation 1 hour before check in after flying to Boston. My daughter and I had no place to stay in an unfamiliar city. The representative told me they had a room available at another Sonder hotel in Boston but they would charge me $2,600 for one night. Other then that they offered no other help for me to find a room on a weekend at a very busy time in Boston. We ended up having to pay double the price of what I had booked 2 months ago due to it being so last minute. The Customer Service would not transfer me to a supervisor and gave me no compensation for the rate that I needed to pay to have a place to stay.
Fraudulent billing practices !
My bill, which was automatically charged to my credit card, was much greater than the quote I received online. I contacted their customer service department and uploaded both the bill and the quote. They claimed the difference was due to currency rates between US and Canada, but that's impossible because their original quote was in both currencies. Plus, there is not a 58% difference in the currency exchange rate.
Their reps speak a very broken English and there is a lot of background noise on their calls. I spoke to them multiple times. They claimed they couldn't understand me which I believe is fraudulent since I sent them the quote and the actual bill.

Scam. Don't know how they got great ratings on booking.com but the building they show is not even the hotel. They show a picture of the prettiest building in the street. Pictures of the room itself showed great photoshop skills. Underwhelming, too expensive for what it actually is.
The room was very loud and the floor was vibrating every 2 minutes as a metro line was running below the building. I asked to move up to a higher floor. They requested I paid 150€ to be moved from 1st to 3rd floor within the same category. The rather left that room empty than give it to me.
Stuff was not helpful and I caught them sleeping in the lobby multiple times during the day.

Abbiamo prenotato una camera King ma, sorpresa, quando siamo arrivati ci hanno dato una stanza Queen (di classe inferiore e costo più basso), dicendo che non hanno altre stanze. non si sono nemmeno degnati di proporci un rimborso della differenza di costo tra le due tipologie di camera. Se solo avessimo letto prima tutte queste recensioni!

Sonder is a scam company,
On Oct 3rd I booked Sonder City Hall Park in NYC.
They confirmed my stay in written confirmation and charged me $922.68 for two nights.
The next day, I flew across the country and headed to my hotel. While in my cab, they cancelled my room (without explanation) and are keeping my $922.68 for 4-6 days as float before returning it.
This is an unethical company with complete disregard for laws and common decency.

The worst experience - never again
We sent an inquiry to Sonder customer service asking mobility accessible accommodation because my husband is disabled. It took weeks before Sonder got back to us for some arrangement. When we arrived in Boston after a 24 hours flight, we found the property is not accessible - there is no elevator to the room, the only way to get to the room is more than 25 steps of stairs which is impossible for my husband to access. Rang Sonder number, being hold for more than 1 hour then we were told there are no other accommodations available. It was 7pm we were left on the street in a strange city with no where to go.
Don’t book with Sonder!!!
Had my credit card stolen on their app (they make you download their app and give too much information too check in) and someone booked a stay on my card. We were able to cancel it, but had to cancel our credit card. Still had our reservation for our stay, but had a nightmare situation checking in (2 hours on the phone straightening it out!) and they gave us $100 credit for another stay. We were reluctant to book with them again, but did. Less than 24 hours before we left for our trip for the next stay they sent a text message telling us they CANCELLED our reservation! No explanation, and when I called the only number they gave me, that person had no idea and refused to rebook it!! Terrible, NEVER EVER BOOK WITH THEM!!

They are scammer!! I stayed in Rome Italy in Sonder apartment. We left at 11:00 as we supposed to be. I send a whatsApp note 0.5 hour prior to our departure. They send me an invoice. All was good but then they claim that I left something n the room and they can't rent the place! I was in the plane so I couldn't response. Then they charge me $320 for extra night. When I told them that I have pictures and I left nothing there, then they said you left late! I show them the conversation through the WhatsApp. Anyway I had to go to the credit card company to et the money back.

petit déjeuner…1 seul plat sale et toujours le même…tourte aux épinards…1 seul micro-onde ,1 mini four MAIS pas de toaster…alors qu’ il y a beaucoup de clients d ou une longue attente, personnel inexistant et peu aimable
MAIS le problème est venu de la chambre, le premier matin pas d’eau dans la douche…je suis allé a la réception pour le signaler…apparemment c’était une coupure d’eau générale…ensuite l’eau semblait être revenue MAIS impossible d’ouvrir le mitigeur…de la douche, car dixit le responsable c est les femmes de ménage qui serraient trop fort celui-ci…et le bloquait.
Nous avions arrêté la climatisation car trop bruyante….

chambre plus petite,…mais la n est pas le problème…il y avait un bruit de fond permanent…ce n’était pas la climatisation car nous l’avions arrêtée… je n’ai presque pas dormi…je pensais que cela pouvait être temporaire…mais le bruit a continue la nuit suivante pendant laquelle je n’ai pas pu dormir malgré des bouchons d’oreilles…j’ai trouvé que le bruit venait des murs et/ou du sol…
je suis allé a la réception le 27 juin pour leur signaler …un technicien est venu a la table ou je prenais le petit déjeuner pour m’expliquer que (en me montrant photo a l’appui) que c’était le moteur d’un conduit qui générait ce bruit continu…(et bien localisé sous le sol)et qu’ il l’avait déjà signalé à la réception depuis plusieurs semaines MAIS que la réparation n’avait pas été effectuée.
J’ai demandé à changer de chambre car je voulais au moins bien dormir la dernière nuit car nous avions un long retour le lendemain sur l’Europe…apparemment ce n’était pas possible ou la réception ne voulait pas le faire…aussi ils m’ont proposé le remboursement de la dernière nuit…
mais au lieu de 250 USD…je n’ai été crédité que de 100 USD…
JE NE SUIS PAS ABSOLUMENT PAS D’ACCORD…
C’EST malhonnête de la part de l’hôtel, sachant qu’il y avait un problème récurrent dans cette chambre…c est un manque total de respect (nous avons quand même séjourné 6 nuits…) …cette chambre n’aurait jamais dû être louée…
J’ai plus de 70 ans j’ai des problèmes de santé et j’ai été très affecté par ce manque de sommeil, j’ai été contraint de dormir l’après-midi chez des amis pour essayez de récupérer…
votre négligence a fait que vous avait nui à ma santé…
aussi je veux un remboursement total de ces 3 dernières nuits horribles.
Nous voyageons beaucoup dans le monde et c’est la première fois que nous testions un SONDER…MAIS ce sera certainement la dernière.
Au cours de ce voyage nous n’avons pas eu de soucis avec les Hilton ou Marriott….

How I wish that I read here prior to booking Sonder The Voyage in London the summer of of 2024. Great location, cramped rooms and what not, but staff is so trained and experienced in things not working that they really believably state that everything will be fixed. Demand working accommodations immediately, bc things will not be fixed it's all stalling.
Then you might have an agreeable stay.
They promised me compensation on the record for all our problems and now the Sonder app chat never works when I wanted to get back to them. The compensation remains to be remunerated as of three weeks after the promise.

Please provide your employee at the hotel in Madrid with headphones or a private room. It's really awkward when she’s sitting by the entrance and conducting meetings on Google Meet or Slack at full volume
These people are theives
Broken Central air, broken TV, broken coffee, pot, pasta sauce splatter on the kitchen walls, the glass globes in the bathroom were filthy, dryer vent light on saying that it’s faulty, and the portable AC that they brought into the room was so loud that you couldn’t sleep at night. Need to say more? No one is available to assist and you are stuck having to text for help. For $400 a night, I’d rather be able to pick up a phone or go down to a front desk of a hotel. In my opinion, this was bottom of the bucket. I have contacted them several times only to receive cute little emails inviting me to stay another time and hope they can make it up to me. Never happening. Don’t waste your money.

The apartment directly across the hall was under a major renovation - they were replacing the drywall. NOISY!!
I learned that Sonder was aware of the construction at the time I made my reservation. Their only remedy was - to offer ear plugs. WT_????? No discount, no refund, NADA
Nobody is going to be happy with construction going on. The smart/ethical/humane choice would have been for Sonder NOT TO RENT THE UNIT!!!!
