You’re right to call that out, and thanks for sticking with Square this long. Those “anniversary” emails are usually tied to a specific product or account event date (for example, when you first started using a particular feature), not always the very first time you ever used Square, which is why it can look wrong on your side. I can’t change that specific email retroactively, but I’ll pass this feedback to the team that runs those campaigns so they can make the wording and timing clearer for long-time sellers like you.

The reader worked really well for a…
The reader worked really well for a bit, but then BAM! It won't connect and says "Can't connect to rooted device." And the app itself wasn't working too well , with tapping and swiping just for that period.
Intially when it was working, it was super smooth!
Might be a software issue or something else?
Hoping it gets resolved soon.
But overall its a nice setup..the app is fantastic
User interface is spot on.
Very easy to use.

Thanks so much for the kind words about the setup and for sharing such clear details. The ‘Can’t connect to rooted device’ message means the phone/tablet is running software that looks modified or ‘rooted,’ and for security/PCI reasons Square readers can’t connect to rooted devices. If the device has ever been rooted or unlocked, you’d need to return it to the original manufacturer software or instead use a different, non‑rooted phone/tablet to take payments. I’d also make sure your OS and Square app are fully updated, since what you described with tapping/swiping freezing can point to a device/OS issue as well. If you’d like to send your device model and OS version, Support can double‑check whether we’re seeing a false alarm vs. a genuine root detection.

Lots of promises ... plenty of waiting
Lots of promises from sales people that don't convert to a timely implementation and solution with post contract signing being a vacuum where no support is provided until they get around to it - no use signing people up if you can't immediately get them onboarded and provide the support you bundle into the contract.

Everything has worked seamlessly over the entire period.
Fantastic system.
Easy for staff and especially controlling the finances and stock.

I have 2 square websites now and I find them so easy to navigate, with the features and functions thats come with the website is just outstanding, it makes having an e-commerce website so easy. The support team are pretty awesome too and help you quickly to get on line.

I have been with Square for over two…
I have been with Square for over two years now. I am a small business owner and we have recently hit hard times which has led to the decision to close our online homewares store. To move the remainder of the stock I placed a closing down post on social media and offered a discount for my stock while it lasted. As the orders came in and the money Square contacted me stating they had seen that I was closing down and had some questions.. they put my account on hold until I responded to a ridiculous amount of questions and provided them with evidence of where my products came from, how I was fulfilling orders, how much stock I had left, what was the stock, how much it was worth.. so I provided an answer for everything and two days later they sent an email saying my account was disabled, the decision was final, they could “no longer support” my business. No reply address, no contact number, no reason. I contacted their support team who told me they couldn’t see any information and couldn’t help me. They told me to reply to the email… the no reply email.
I have engaged a lawyer and am sending them correspondence this evening. I cannot go through another provider as the process is too long and I need to sell my stock. No one can order from my store. To say this is disappointing is a serious understatement. I am a mother of 3 small children and the decision to close the business was devastating as it was. To have this happen is just a kick in the teeth. Square should be ashamed of themselves.

Makes my Band DedFate look Proffessional
Square was the cheapest for equipment, lowest fees, fastest payouts. We are a struggling Nu Metal band called DedFate, who have committed our lives to music and thrown everything else away. Finding square, and its ability to allow for phone payments without a device was the best and most unexpected thing. Then we got a reader and having a Square reader makes my band look professional and dedicated.
Now I can also offer Eftpos for my FB Marketplace sales and have the money within 24 hours.
What more could you want?
