useless

i had a dispute with my student accommodation at uni, i had health issues which meant i didn’t even live in the flat for about 4 months as i had to move out early and i had been financially abused so i was struggling for money. i explained my situation to the accommodation services, the main reason that i moved out was to be around my family because of how ill i was. i asked to be let off the tenancy a month or two early, as it wasn’t my fault that i had to move out and they had allowed someone else in my flat off of their tenancy like 6 months early for a similar but less serious issue. they declined, i didn’t pay a months rent, it got left for two years. suddenly years later i’m getting threatening calls, emails, letters through the post from STA unify. nice one! every time i tried to contact them it was like pulling teeth, they take a ridiculous amount of time to communicate with you, ignore your attempts to resolve the issue and just send you more threatening, and in my opinion insulting letters through the post. in their letter they said i was unable to solve the issue amicably? great tactic though!!! because i was so sick of their nonsense that i just paid it, and as a student living in a place where employment is sparse it is a LOT of money to have to cough up at once. i’m sorry but they treat you like you’re worthless, don’t respond to you for ages when you ask for a payment plan and then say you’re not amicable. i’m a young autistic woman living on my own, it’s so threatening and distressing getting letters through the post saying you’re gonna turn up at my flat if i don’t empty out my bank within 7 days when i was trying my hardest to resolve the issue. do better, be kinder, be more helpful.

Literally paid them to chase debt for me, and then they've done nothing. So now I'm chasing them on what I've paid them. Absolutley mental considering they're there to make your life easier and now it's not just my original debt owed, it's as if they've also now stolen from me.

When I chased on the system, the system they told me to use, they claimed every time I messaged it reset the process.

They're now chasing me for payment I made 3 weeks ago.

Awful communication and when I tried to pay the amount in full they left a penny off so I payed it. They then sent me a penny back and then threatened me that I had outstanding debt I needed to pay. Horrible company trying to capitalise in anyway possible.

I got an email regarding a debt I owe to the university accomodations. I had withdrawn from the university 3 years ago and all of the sudden I get an email after 3 years mentioning of my debt. I was withdrawn, signed the withdrawal form, left the university letting everyone know I'm long gone and even I contacted about this to the university few days ago and they said they don't know anything about it. What do you think I'm a fool to pay for something I have not used it and even if it was like after 2-3 months I would have calmed myself, but jesus, who sends an email saying I owe the university after 3 complete years. This is not a professional rather then seems like it's a big joke.

I have found STA extremely professional…

I have found STA extremely professional and supportive in supporting us with our business needs. They have easy to communicate features via their portal and their collection rates are great. Whilst debt collection is never a nice thing to have to address, they make this as stress free of a process as possible.

Dreadful

Dreadful. Threatening me because they haven't received letters from me, only to magically find the letter when I object.

Lack of clarity and communication. Different answers and explanations depending on who happens to pick up the phone.

They have made a stressful situation even more horrible. The fact these people are trusted with such sensitive cases and with people's financial security is troubling.

Sto chiedendo a STA International se Davide Baldini davide.baldiniconsulent (non mio parente ma solo un omonimo) è un loro collaboratore. Questo personaggio mi ha truffato oltre 9500€ per accedere ad un presunto recupero di un fondo a cinque cifre risultante da truffe pregresse di diversi anni. C’è anche un altro personaggio Johann Hofmann bcemediajohann.hofmann che si è spacciato per un funzionario della BCE sezione della Banca Nazionale Austriaca che avrebbe dovuto accreditarmi un bonifico a cinque cifre. Non ho visto nessun ritorno da questi lestofanti “onestuomini”

They "lost" my payment for a while

Made a payment of £1615 throught their website just for them to say that they haven't received anything. My account on their website shows no signs of a payment being made. Luckily, I have the confirmation email. Now I have to wait for them to "find" the payment.

Ridiculous. I am afraid of making payments ever again. I will pay directly to the university.

Total useless

Total useless. I used them once: poor communication between the team and poor protocols and working standard. So with all that, any kind of fee is going to be abusive.
Eventually I didn't get the debt owed

Not A Horror Debt Story

As someone who is paying off a debt, I have always found this company to treat me as a person. They have left communications open so that if my circumstances change in any way, for better or worse, my payment plan can be amended. They don't judge me for making bad decisions in the past but they genuinely want to work with me to get the debt paid at an affordable rate for me.
The horror stories that are shown on TV shows only happen if people don't want to work with collection companies and this company doesn't want the last resort to happen if it can be avoided.

This is our first experience of using a debt recovery agency. We were pleasantly surprised by how simple and effective STA made the whole process, saving an enormous amount of time and energy for our Finance Manager to redirect to more productive activities. Thank you.

Worst company to deal with. Totally useless.

If I could give zero stars I would. Have been paying off tuition fees from university for a while now. To begin with, they sent me multiple different avenues that I had to pay by and then started sending me angry emails saying I hadn't paid, even though I had. They then worked out that it was the party they told me to pay to not releasing the money for over 2 weeks. Since then I've been paying it and have received no communication, no receipts of payment, nothing at all. I then get a letter from them with no reference or account number, no name for the company I'm paying to, no amount owing, no information at all, just a blank letter asking me for all of my financial information, which clearly I'm not going to send them having no idea what the letter is for. They then send me another letter with the same pack of information with a payment amount that I've been paying anyway. I have no idea how much I owe or even if the payments are going through (I assume they are because I've not had any angry, nasty emails from the same uppity workers I did before) and no way to get in contact with them. I've sent an email to them about this matter and nobody even bothers to reply. Absolute shambles of a company, sort yourselves out before I have to withhold a payment just to get in contact with someone.

Just received a notice of Debt from STA…

Just received a notice of Debt from STA international regards a rent in arrears for university accommodation my son does not owe. Student Roost are the landlords and as despicable a company as STA must be for taking this debt on, and probably now harassing me as guarantor. I have fought Student Roost for months, and I will fight STA as hard.

Offered a maxium of 2 weeks or collections process will take place. (No sense of human understanding)

Its sad to see they dont understand current issues and talk like robots.

Appauling.

Avoid these guys if you.

Not even worthy of 1 star but have to in order to share my experience.

Set up a direct debit for my university over payment over about 9 months ago, pay it every month without question and still to this day receive a ridiculous amount of phone calls and emails. I feel harassed to the point I need to file an official complaint and uncomfortable.

Asked to speak to a manager and always get told unavailable and doesn't call me back.

Joke of a company.
