It all started with a conversation with Krishna and Bijay around customising the Mardi Himal trek to suit our needs. They curated an experience that sounded perfect. The next day we were on the mountain, and the experience throughout continued to be magical. Here is why...

The booking process. We planned the trek while on the ground in Pokhara and set off on the journey the next day. Krishna and Bijay embodied what Nepalese hospitality is all about. Our experience started with a couple of warm and honest conversations. The booking process was quick and seamless. The price was very fair. We did not have to think twice before going for it. Preparations were so quick. All that was needed was to get ready following their quick and easy preparation advice, and show up!

The trek. From pickup, to setting off, to climbing up, to staying in tea houses, to admiring the landscape and the power of the sacred mountains, to walking back down – all over a number of days, it was all incredible. Of course trekking is all about the physical challenge that is rewarded by what mother nature gives back. But the logistics of the trek itself were super planned, with no hiccups whatsoever along the way. And the best of best guides, Bijay, was great support. He isn't just someone who loves the mountains and knows the routes, he's a friend walking up alongside you – great company and the star of the show in tea houses – who made the experience as smooth and fun as can be. It was such a privilege to share his company over a few days.

The added factor. Step By Step Treks, led by Krishna, do a lot for the local community. They probably don't want us saying this – but they are incredibly kind and generous human beings. Going on a trek with them will not only be an amazing experience for the trekkers, but will have an impact on a community of children supported by Krishna, Bijay and others as their way to give back to the community.

We would highly recommend going straight to them if you're up for an experience of a lifetime!

Krissna’s knowledge of the area was exceptional. He chose a brilliant route that took us away from the crowded Everest Base Camp trail, giving us a much more peaceful and authentic experience of the Himalayas. The porters were experienced, kind, and always smiling, and the entire team made sure we were comfortable and safe each step of the way.

We always stayed in the best tea houses along the route, and Krissna was careful to select places with good food and hygiene — something that made a big difference on a long trek.

We had an unforgettable experience in Nepal, doing the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek and also visiting Chitwan. From the very first moment we contacted him, Krishna did an excellent job designing our itinerary and giving us all the guidance we needed. During the trip, he was always attentive and responsive, while our guide Bijay did a fantastic job throughout the trek. They made sure we felt safe, comfortable, and well taken care of at all times.

What we especially appreciated is that the company is also involved in a social project through an NGO, so part of the money from our trip goes to support underprivileged communities in rural Nepal. This gave our adventure an even deeper meaning, knowing that our journey was also helping others.
