Purchased a refurbished mini fridge

Purchased a refurbished mini fridge, was expecting scratched and major dints as discribed it could have. Two very minor marks, both on side that won't be seen. The rest is in perfect condition

Elevated our night time kitchen

Had choice of places to buy from so went direct. Our cardboard packaging was adequate but not amazing, held together by the plastic straps but everything else faultless. No damage done. Little fridge was left for a few hours, and then up and running. We've had it a week and so everything is properly chilled. Start up time is v impressive. We've got no finger marks on ours yet so it looks very classy. Very pleased it can take a 2 litre bottles if you remove the wine shelf. We've just moved house and were short of drinks space, having given up an American fridge freezer. Looks very sharp. In the dark it looks like we have a shop in our kitchen. Delighted though.

Upgrade drinks fridge!

Decided to upgrade on our (much smaller) mini fridge ❄️

Ordered the Subcool Ace90 drinks fridge for our kitchen. We ordered on a Friday evening & expected to receive the fridge by Monday, as tracking indicated, & as it was the weekend. However, it arrives on Sunday, fantastic!! 🌟

Truly flawless, timely updates & such a good looking fridge. It looks smart and is a perfect fit. We love the light and easy operation.

The only concern is, you can't fill it up otherwise the temperature rockets to 6 (9 at the top). We had to take a lot of bottles and cans back out as the drinks were just chilled, not cold! This is a pity as you're losing a good portion of the fridge, which kind of defeats having a bigger fridge.

However, so far so good, but I'm not liking the terrible reviews on Google. I truly hope we do not face these problems. It's a lot of money to lose. I am normally very on it with reading reviews first, but only read them on the Subcold site (my bad).

The box arrived battered and wet, my husband took the delivery as the courier (DPD) just dropped and left. It was not easy for my husband to get it up the steep step.

The bottom of the box just fell out as he attempted to pick it up? I'm not sure what this fridge had been through but I hope it's not damaged it in any way. Time will tell but I hope it's guaranteed.

For anyone with a problem, no customer service, replacement, refunds, there is always a very useful online ombudsman called Resolver. I've used about 10 times when dealing with consumer issues, and have always won. Hoping we don't need to use this 🤞

My sister bought a fridge directly from…

My sister bought a fridge directly from them and it came without a key, needed as she's locking her medication in there, there's no identification on the lock so I couldn't even go to the local locksmith to get a key cut and when she emailed subcold they didn't respond, I certainly won't be shopping there again as I had to waste money buying a key from then that should have been supplied

We’re very sorry to read your review and would like to clarify the situation, as some of the points raised are not accurate.

We certainly did not force you to seek assistance from your payment provider. When you contacted us, we simply asked for further details and images so we could understand the issue properly and offer the most appropriate support. Upon reviewing the information provided, it became clear that the damage to the unit door occurred after the door reversal had been carried out, and was not present on delivery.

Despite this, and as a gesture of goodwill, we offered to send a replacement door free of charge to resolve the matter quickly and without inconvenience. Unfortunately, a chargeback claim was then initiated before we were able to complete this resolution.

We always aim to be fair, transparent, and helpful, and it’s disappointing to hear that you felt your experience was otherwise. Should you wish to resolve this directly, we remain open to communication and would be glad to assist further.

Mini Fridge turning into a freezer

My son got a 4L mini fridge for Xmas, it quickly started freezing over at the back and freezing the items in there. Currently discussing with customer services, their options were;

move it somewhere warmer
it's normal as it's not frost free
Don't put things near the back of the fridge

not willing to accept that a Fridge should be not be a freezer. Not using half the fridge because it's freezing everything, seems like a cop out.

After telling them its in a warm bedroom, they're saying it's too hot and the fridge is now over working.

Really not happy with the customer services response. currently have to defrost it and start the process all over again.

The 4L mini fridge your son received is a small thermoelectric unit rather than a compressor fridge, and it is not auto-defrost or frost-free. Because of how this type of cooling system works, it’s normal for ice to form on the back plate ❄️, particularly if items are placed directly against it or if there is moisture inside the unit. The back panel is the cooling element, so it will naturally be much colder than the rest of the interior.

These compact 4L models are designed primarily for keeping drinks and small items cool rather than functioning in the same way as a full-sized kitchen fridge. They work best within a recommended ambient temperature range and in dry, well-ventilated indoor rooms. If the surrounding temperature is too cold (such as in unheated rooms) or too warm, the unit can struggle to regulate efficiently, which may result in excess condensation or heavier icing. This is outlined in the product guidance, but we completely understand that it can still be disappointing if it doesn’t meet expectations in practice.

Regular manual defrosting is required with this type of mini fridge, and ensuring items aren’t touching the back plate helps prevent freezing. We appreciate that this may feel inconvenient, and we’re sorry if the explanation from customer service came across as dismissive — that certainly wouldn’t be our intention.

Amazing mini fridge 6L, smart, fast delivery.

I bought my Subcokd mini 6L fridge, I am so happy with it, amazing, it works straight away plug it into main. I work on the ship as a seafarer I bought this fridge for my cabin, it fits perfectly, doesn’t take much space. It keeps my drinks and food very cold
On a nice temperature. Also it is very quiet, doesn’t make any disturbance when I am sleeping. Thank you so much Subcold, I would recommend to anyone, very handy, very useful. Also thank you for fast delivery.

Tiny fridge 😊

Easy to use website, easy to order and arrived when it said it would. The colour was exactly what I thought it would be. Plugged it in and it got cold quickly. The perfect tiny fridge for kimchi!

Faulty adapter on Subcold fridge replaced

The mobile fridge was a gift for my son for use at University. The fridge did not work from day one but once the problem was reported to Subcold they quickly diagnosed the fault and provided a replacement adapter immediately and now the fridge is operational.

Great quality design and build.

We are really happy to see a British made product, and really happy with the purchase.
The design is rock solid, and it's freezing produce properly, even on eco mode. Also, the screen temperature actually reflect the real temperature (unlike Alpicool and imitations). Excellent purchase. We have previously bought two portable 12v freezers, both Chinese models and one failed after 2 years (insulation failure) second, was sweating considerably
highlighting the poor "shell" construction of the newer models and lack of quality control over insulation. We were looking for quality build and hopefully a product that won't end up on landfill in 2 years, but Dometic is out of our price range. Can highly recommend, plus it's more efficient so uses less battery when you're out and about in your campervan.
