Don’t buy!

It is a shame that this kind of product is on the market. The device promises a lot but gives nothing. I bought the Tail It Pet tracker and it didn’t work at all. The device was expensive and also the app subscription. When you buy something this expensive, you hope it works proberly. What’s the point when the tracker that doesn't work or show location and loads all the time and informs that the app can’t transfer the information to the device. So dissapointed. Also lost quite a lot of money because had to pay customs, VAT and postages when returning the device.

You should admit your own mistake and not blame customers. Your customer service did give me two options, that is true, but they should have also informed what would be the loss of money for me. If you read these reviews, you can see that I am not the only one with bad experience.

We are sorry to hear that our solution did not work out for you. Based on the comments here as well as the information that have been read trough during the investigation of this we do indeed understand the frustration to a certain extent.

Based on the information provided from the correspondence with our support team as well as conversations with members that handled the matter it would appear that you were in fact offered to have the device taken in for service and fixed. This was however not accepted.

We are sorry that we were not able to provide a solution to the issue but the investigation does show that you were refunded the purchase of of our product and service and the case was then resolved in that manner.

After looking through the situation regarding the return and the communication with our support department we can clearly see that advice was provided to you by a representative in the support team. We, therefore, find it slightly misleading that you claim you did not receive any assistance in the matter. The agent acted within his limits in terms of what he was able to assist with and did provide information on how to proceed within a reasonable time.

Absolutely love our cat tracker

Absolutely love our cat tracker. We live on the edge of an urban Forest, and we can see when our cat is approaching the coyote area. Live tracking for brief periods will give a very accurate location. Collar came off down the block and we used the audio alert to find it under a bush. Has a bit of a learning curve but well-thought-out technology. We could see where the cat sitter had him on the leash while we were on vacation overseas. Stops that horrible "we know he's out here somewhere but where" feeling

It would seem that you had been quite unfortunate in your experience with our company and we would like to extend our apologies for this. after going through the communications with our support department it would seem like the reason for the extended refund hold has been caused by a returned product that was not collected at a pickup point. This had been caused by a lack of notification from the local currier to the pickup receiver at our company. investigation in the matter also reveals that the Support department representative you have had conversations with has indeed apologized for this incident and proposed a solution to the shipping mistake that had happened.

We do find it unfortunate however that this small incident has resulted in this thread as it is mentioned that a refund will be issued once the package had been received and processed as a part of our procedures.

Don't Waste Your Money

First of all, Tail it Pet is much too big for an ordinary cat or small dog contrary to what they want you to believe. Tail it Pet is so bulky, only medium to large dogs can handle its size. Secondly, the device does not work beyond the limits of your house wifi. If you want it to track beyond your wifi area, you'll be out of luck. I have had nothing but bad experience with Tail it Technologies. Their Customer Service is the worst! I purchased Tail it Pet along with the Teleg subscription. It didn't take long to realize the device was not tracking as promised. Specifically, it did not update my location anywhere away from the house. Finally, when I asked for instructions how to return my device, all I received was vague responses and one delay tactic after another. Now they are trying to say they never received my returned device with no mention of refunding my subscription cost. This is the shadiest company I have ever had to deal with! Don't waste your money on this piece of junk.

We are truly sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience with us in regards to this situation. We are constantly trying to improve the handling of both different cases and more importantly our customers and feedback is the best way to help us improve.

We have looked into this situation deeply, and we see that certain parts of this case could have been handled differently but that it all and all had been handled in thread with the procedures we work by.

There also appears to have been made certain misunderstandings in relations to a package that was set to return to us. This may have been caused by some simple miscommunication. We hvae also did check every system and up untill today there is still no evidence that that backage was ever recieved at our facilities. This potentially due to the device beeing held up in customs pending missing paperwork. However.

We can see that despite the misunderstandings and missing shipment that a solution to the situation was presented by our Support team and that the situation is now resolved despite all of this.

AVOID in United Kingdom

"Tail it" is working only near the house when connected to a wifi. Using GPS is registering ca. 270 miles away from actual position ! Their technical support is rubbish, replying with automated phrases.. If you are a UK resident, AVOID !!

You are mentioning that your device has been very inaccurate whilst attempting to use it on GPS. This might be due to several factors but our products do work in the UK and we have several happy and satisfied users of our servers all over the UK. What I fear has happened, however, is that you have been quite unlucky with your device and perhaps ever received a faulty one by accident. These are viable to option. They should not have happened they might have.

We are however hoping to resolve this issue with you and urge you to reach out to us again trough our support channel so that our hard-working support team can assist you in finding a solution to this issue.

Didn't work but still 5 star. Must read.

Tail it pet was a gift from someone for my cat in mid 2019. I purchased a subscription and played with it during the fall. The device seemed to work as it was using my household WiFi. In the spring of 2020, when i let my cat outside, i started to notice it would be intermittent in its tracking. For days I played with the device to make sure it was powered correctly, that it was on, etc. Eventually I came to the conclusion it just didn't work OR there was something wrong with it as it would still, the odd time, work when it was around the house.

I notified the representatives at tail it and advised there is an issue with the device. I was pleased to see a rep got back to me within a very reasonable time frame. The rep conducted a review and investigated the issue. Within a week they found out that because I was in a Northern part of the world in Canada, the GPS and LMB function did not work. This would explain why it would work with my WiFi, but not once my cat left the WiFi range.

Pending the paid shipping of the device back to the company, They have refunded the entire sum of the device, and the subscription. After nearly a year!

I can understand how in some areas, tracking just is not possible. Weather its terrain related, or dead zones, etc. I feel although it did not work for me, the customer service was outstanding.

Besides that, the device it self was small, and capable of being on my cat for months while she hunted outside in rugged terrain through mud, rain, and sometimes snow.

The device didn't work in my area, but the company is a good company to deal with. 5 star.

Jeg kjøpte ved en feiltakelse Tail it med Talkmore abonnement noe jeg ikke har og fikk beskjed om å returnere enheten og bestille ny enhet. Har siden forsøkt å kontakte dem flere ganger uten å få klare svar på hva som har skjedd. Service på nett fungerer utrolig dårlig og slutter å sende svar etter at jeg sender spørsmål og forklarer situasjonen. Penger for den returnerte enheten har jeg heller aldri mottatt. Ut i fra anmeldelsene her, ser det heller ikke ut til at enheten fungerer slik de lovet, så jeg kommer ikke til å kjøpe ny med riktig abonnement.

Hugely expensive to return

We had 2 of these and 1 worked intermittently and the other didn’t work at all. No amount of rebooting helped. The rubber casing for the tracker is very flimsy and completely snapped - luckily in the garden.

Next challenge is returning these items. 1st attempt sat at the Norwegian collection point for 6 weeks before being sent back to me.

You also get charged an import duty to return them. So, as well as £25 postage costs, there is also the £19 customs duty to pay.

Do not order these products unless you are 100% sure you are going to keep them! Originally posted back on 7th July snd I am still waiting for items to be refunded.

On a plus point, the sales team are very helpful and always respond to emails. Just a shame you can’t contact them by phone.

6 months using the Pet tracker from…

6 months using the Pet tracker from Tail it after recieving it for christmas last year. Its helped us track our dog several times. It stopped working once back in march but a quick chat with a helpful Support staff member and a week later we had sent our tracker back and gotten a brand new replacement. easy to use, realiable and great service from the customer services. We are so greatful for Tail It being a thing. Highly recommended for everyone who cares for their dog or cat.

Non existent customer service

Non existent customer service. Worst customer service i've ever experienced. Every time i had questions or queries regarding set up it'd take 12 or more days for a reply. so took 6 weeks to even get it working.
Eventually got it working, it worked okay, nothing special.
I returned the product under their T&Cs At cost to me of £25 to return it to Norway (non EU)
They then signed for the parcel and didn't process the return or issue refund. now follows 2-3 months of ignoring my emails. In the end i had to research the companys CEO, CFO, head of marketing ect on Linked In. Emailed MBH and got a refund the next day, after 3 months of stonewalling from the 'customer service' team.

As far as a customer is concerned a company is only as good as the customer service, which is basically non existent.

Unreliable, doesn't work, terrible customer service

Unreliable, buggy and shocking customer service.

Once ordered I heard nothing from them and no item arrived. Customer service chat just tell me they don't have access to order info and I will hear back from the team. I had to chase 3 times before I eventually got a reply, very bluntly telling me there was no stock, and they were unsure of when more will arrive.

Once the device eventually arrived I could not activate it. I contacted customer services again who again very bluntly told me there was an issue with activation and it would be fixed, they didn't know when but eventually.
The account registration also only allows a number of scandanavian countries and USA, no UK sign up despite them advertising works in UK on the website. This emant that all subscription payments would cause a foreign currency transaction charge with my bank.

So after waiting for the tracker for weeks I now have to wait to actually use it. Once I successfully activated the SIM i added it to the app and tested it out. I live in an area with very good 4G reception on all networks. The tracker took almost an hour sat outside to eventually update its location on the app only to be about half a mile away in the wrong place. Multiple resets and it's always at least a few hundred meters inaccurate, not helpful if you're trying to locate your lost dog, the whole point of the device.
This is all on the rare occassion it actually updates a location at all.

When the sounder, light or live tracking is switched on, it it actually works, it won't turn off from the app. You have to get the tracker, power it down and turn it back on.

This tracker is useless, plain and simple. It does not operate as promised and is not fit for purpose.

I tried to cancel the subscription and could only find the option to suspend for a maximum of 5 months. I eventually found the terminate subscription hidden away and once done it still just said suspended. Again customer service were no use and after asking for my name and email they said they'd raise a ticket (which never get replied to) and then stopped replying to any other messages.

Avoid this company. Their product is unreliable and their customer service is even worse.

Awful

Awful - avoid at all costs. I received my Tailit Pet and wireless charger yesterday. The wireless charger doesn't work and neither does the tracker.

The app/tracker is unable to get a location no matter where the device is, it just throws up errors. Yet despite this, the commands to turn on the light or sound work. Either a faulty device, crap app or just not fit for purpose. I regret ever having dealt with Tail-it and would urge people not to make the same mistake.

I see Tail-it have replied to my review. They try to gloss over the failings of the device. I can only assume the reply was written by Thomas who is rather rude and lacking in customer service. Thankfully, Anders has been very helpful.

The device did not work for 3 days despite doing everything asked, eveunninstalling it from the app and reinstalling it. Then all of a sudden, it worked fairly well for a week so we thought all was good. Now, we are back to square one where the app is no longer able to communicate with the device despite again trying all we were asked to do. We only found this out when our cat didn't return home last night and we couldnt track him.

Re the charger, it won't work with my QI compatible phone, so can only assume it is faulty.

We are sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience with us here at Tail It Technologies and our products. We do however feel like some of what you write is a little out of place. Especially when it comes to the wireless charger.

You do not write this but I suspect you tested it with the Pet tracker which will not work as it is not marketed for this tracker at all.
It is clearly stated in the product description of the wireless charger that it is not compatible with the Tail It pet.

In regard to the tracker constantly not working, we feel that this is exaggerated slightly. We are aware the signal strength may vary but that it is just not working is far from correct. Signal strength, as well as 2g coverage, may vary from area to area and will have an effect on the device performance.

We do however take these cases seriously as we are constantly trying to learn from them and become better from each interaction with the members of our Tail It family and we will take this with us going forward in the development of the second generation tracker.

Horrible customer service, bad communication but the device does what it says.

Do not purchase from these scammers, they do not deliver, they do not contact you, they do not update. They are a useless scam. DO NOT PURCHASE, I deeply question the validity of any positive responses.

we recieved the device, two of them, but now they devices are lost because the fools keep updating the firmware which stops the device from working without a reset. we have lost two devices this way as you cannot track them without restarting...

How can we restart it if they are missing?

Contacting customer services shows how useless they are, do not waste your money.

I am sorry to hear that you feel this way about how the recent delays in shipping have been handled.
I would like to admit that the situation could have been handled a little differently in these matters and in a better way.
I can see based on the communication you had with our support department that your e-mail was responded to in a fairly acceptable timeframe. What happened after the response was increased delays in the transportation of devices due to several factors. This has greatly affected our usual operations and it has indeed resulted in very extended waiting periods for our customer's wich is very unfortunate.
It has however been stated and updated on our website that shipping has been delayed.

We here at Tail It are however working tirelessly to attempt to the best of our current abilities to shorten this waiting period as much as possible. We are also ensuring that we learn from this experience in order not to fall into a similar situation in the future.

We would once again apologies for the situation that has occurred and ensure you that once things are back up and running that you and all others that have been affected by this will receive their products as quickly as possible.

Tailit Pet

I have three Tailit Pet. The units work if there is good mobile coverage. They don't seem to have super-good reception and lose the net frequently - making them a bit unreliable. Rebooting them at least once every day seems to help a bit. They also consume power quite fast. They need to be recharged every 2-3 days, much more often than specified. So quite often our cats are running around with no working tracker because they are either out of battery or unable to communicate with the cellular net.

When they work the updates are very slow. It usually takes well over a minute to gat a GPS-position. So you can't track in "real-time". But we do find our cats. I'd say it's good enough but could have been a lot better. I'll give it a 3.

Support and customer service is excellent in my opinion - always very helpful.

We also do appriciate the constructive feedback as this helps us improve. By gathering valuable constructive feedback from our customers and looking into what is achieveable we are now in the process of devloping the secound generation of trackers for our four legged friends. The new generation will contain a lot more than just your standard tracking. We have seen the rapid deacrease from 2g wich our current devices are running and we are now looking at new solutions to this issue.

Once again we thank you for your honesty and constructive feedback and we want you to know that we do hear you and your pet's desire. We will continue to work hard to make sure that you and your cats can feel safe and bond even more.

Absolutely the worst service ever.

Absolutely the worst service ever.
I ordered a tag on the 12th of April and still don’t have it. The excuse is Covid, but the response and customer service is terrible. They don’t bother to update you unless you chase them and even then I have had to go back numerous times.
Last update was that the item would be sent 6 June. Now it’s moved to 12 June
I hope they read this and get their act into gear because this is a REALLY bad start!!

Det er leit og høre at du har opplevd en slik situasjon med oss her i Tail It. Årsaken til den forlengede respons tiden den siste tiden ligger i at vår kundeservice for tiden er sterkt påvirket av Covid-19 situasjonen og jobber nå desverre i en redusert kapasitet.
