I think that this agency in all honesty should be a bit more sensitive to the needs of those who are looking for employment. So just a little backstory to give context to what I am about to say, I first received contact from CK Group on the 22nd of July. At this stage, I was in my final year and on the verge of finishing my studies with my Higher education provider Harper Adams University- where I was studying Bio-Veterinary Science. Unfortunately for myself I caught COVID-19 just at the stage where I should have been sitting my first examinations (around May). The consequences of this were that I had only sat my final examinations around the 31st of August owing to deferment being the only option I had on the table in terms of giving myself more breathing space for the exams that were coming up. Perhaps understandably, this caused some friction between the workplace that I was contracted to work for, and the agency itself-- especially when they asked to see 'proof' of my degree qualifications which I felt was rather unnecessary given that the date of my graduation was only the 23rd of September of this year and that my agreed start to work was only the 17th of October. However, I am understanding that this was an important selling point in terms of my CV-- it's just a shame that myself and CK Group have parted ways on such a sour note-- especially given that I am part of the neurodivergent community (with both ADHD and Asperger's Syndrome) and could have done with all the extra support that comes with settling yourself into the business your contracted to work with. It is after all, quite a jump to go from learning for the best part of four years, and feel as though I could've been better supported to integrate myself into the workplace.
