Crappy Quality Control and Disregard for Health of Customer

I purchased my first portable cpap so that I could get outdoors more. After a two week run-around with customer service trying to convince them that the new cpap I purchased was not working, I went on a one week bike packing trip. My boyfriend noticed that while asleep I was snoring and gasping for air with the cpap on. I woke up exhausted and could not continue the ride. After this trip, the CPAP Shop exchanged the cpap with a new model, but they failed to send me the cord needed to connect the battery to the cpap. I discovered this after setting up my tent on a backing trip, so I had to pack up and leave and stay at a hotel for 3 nights until a cord arrived via Amazon. I went back to the park after receiving my cord and continued with my plans to hike the AT. After hiking 11 miles with a 30 lb pack, I was exhausted and ready to sleep, however, my new CPAP battery pack died after 20 minutes of use even though it was fully charged. There was no way I could continue this hike without a working cpap because a lack of sleep and hiking the AT are not compatible with safety on the trail. I had to abandon this nine day hike and go back home. Because of this last cpap debacle, I ended up spending $900 extra dollars on hotel and a new plane ticket to head back home sooner than I expected. I complained a second time and asked for a refund of at least 1/2 the amount I spent on hotel stay and new plane tickets to head back home. The CPAP shop ignored my request. My complaint has to do with poor quality control from the CPAP shop and a total disregard for the health of the customer who rely on their medical equipment.

Hello Joanne. I'm sorry for your experience but we have talked to you multiple times about this particular order. Please note that we have a published return policy on our site and one that that you must accept to place an order. The CPAP Shop is a certified reseller, not a manufacturer.

After you ordered and used the first machine, you said it didn't work. As a courtesy, we accepted the returned and upgraded you to a better travel CPAP. Once you received the new CPAP and the battery, the customer is responsible for opening the packaging, double-checking all parts have arrived, and for charging the devices prior to use. Even a fully charged battery would not last a full week without a recharge. You mentioned that you were missing a cord but you never reached out to us about the missing part or asked to have it shipped to you.

Our customer service team is trained to help troubleshoot any concerns, help work with the manufacturer on any defective parts, and provide any expertise or assistance in helping our customers use their products effectively and comfortably. In this case, we have repeatedly worked with you - offered you new products, offered you a refund on the battery, and even a full refund on the complete order if returned. Instead, we have repeatedly been yelled at and disrespected on each call and interaction.

Worst online buying experience of all…

Worst online buying experience of all time. We made our purchase a little over a week ago. They shipped it a week ago, on Wednesday, April 1st. We have been tracking the shipment. Made it all the way to Houston, where we live close by. The next day, it was in Jackson, MS.! I have emailed them twice for assistance and no reply. We finally called. After being on hold for 15 minutes, we explained that they shipped by USPS and that's the worst way to send anything! They said that we "chose" USPS because we did not opt to pay for "expedited" shipping, so they went the cheap route. At that point, we were told that basically, it's not their problem, and if we cancel the order, there are no refunds. Whatever happened to customer service?

We leave on a trip tomorrow and will not be able to enjoy our new CPAP but, who cares?

Terrible place as never got my machine..

Had an at home sleep study done by independent provider. Then my provider sent everything to the cpap shop. They took my money then kept giving me the run around saying they needed Rx which was sent with copy of my study, Rx , what I ordered to replace my old CPap device. Received a text message about needing more information which was what my provider already sent, then when I called was put on call back and was 238 in queue to get call back and didn’t get that call back till next day when I was at work. They just kept saying stuff was missing. Told them to just refund my money and I would go elsewhere. Sent the same information to CPAP.com and order was placed and shipping out. DONT order from here you will waste time.

Cpap Batteries

Hello fellow Cpap users. Please be careful when ordering battery backup power through the Cpap Shop. If you order anything thinking it can help, but it doesn’t, it yours. They don’t care. The policy is NO RETURNS. The online ad says the freedom cpap battery 160 for AirSense 11 is good for approximately 30 hours, if you don’t use the humidifier. It also shows tons of “good reviews”. Well, I must use it, and I only need 5 to 8 hours of power. It didn’t work for me. I’m not sure about the 30hrs, but be careful, if you buy it, it’s yours, PERIOD. It took me a few days to order the battery afraid this might happen. Well, my mistake. I hope this helps you with your decision. Good Luck.

I ordered what I thought was the correct mask for my CPAP machine. In order to see if it was compatible I had to open the package. There was nothing on the packaging that said I couldn't return if opened. They offered me a 20% discount on the correct mask after paying for a $58 item that didn't work.

So much for good customer service

Excellent customer service. Order was shipped promptly. I had a CPAP mask that did not work out well for me and they gave me a prompt refund.

I would do negative stars if I could

I would do negative stars if I could. I ordered a travel cpap and from day one, it simply shuts off by itself. I have called numerous times since purchase and someone from “tech support” is always going to call me back which never happens. I called again this morning and was told they only had a record of 1 call and it could not be returned or replaced because it had been opened. (How do you know if it works, if you don’t try it?) Once again, “someone from tech support is going to call me back.” No working machine and a loss of $$$$. My email is FLOODED with offers from them daily now even though I have unsubscribed. I wish I would have gone through Amazon.

Something is wrong at this company

Something is wrong with this company. The headgear for my full face mask CPAP headgear broke. When I can’t use my CPAP I tend to back into a-fib. Because of this I immediately ordered 2 replacement headgears and paid an exorbitant amount ($56.13) for supposedly guaranteed second day delivery via UPS. This for a parcel weighing little more than a Christmas card.

I was provided a tracking number but whenever I tried to track the parcel UPS advised that the package hadn’t been scanned into the system. I communicated with The CPAP Store about this online via email but got no response.

Finally, this morning the tracking number showed that the parcel is en route and is now in Albuquerque, NM. This likely means it wasn’t even shipped to Phoenix by air.

I finally was able to speak to someone at the company’s customer service number this morning. After a lengthy wait on hold to get connected I again waited for stretch while she checked on things. After doing that she said the company will refund the $56.13 (she was very kind in trying to help, btw).

That’s nice but this was a terrible way to deal with supplying a badly needed medical device. I now am told that I won’t receive the headgear until Christmas Eve, 7 days after I placed the urgent order. Given the holiday rush I have little confidence that I’ll get it then.

Look elsewhere. You can do better.

Terrible service

This is the worst customer service I can remember. I had purchased my first CPAP with them and it worked great. I inquired about a travel CPAP and was told the one I inquired about could be set up the same with my prescription. I ordered it and received it promptly. When I tried to use it, it did not work the same at all. Tech support was to contact me. A week later, I contacted tech support since I hadn't heard. Tech support emailed directions to try to help. It did not. I am told now that I need a different prescription for it to work the same as my other machine. I cannot return the machine due to their return policy. I should not have been told it could be set the same if that can't be done. It has been almost impossible to talk with someone and almost all
correspondence has been through email. I believe I may have spent the last that I am going to with this company. Have a product that doesn't work as promised and no recourse for return. The date of experience has been going on for about 10 days.
I was told, as the reply says, that Jacob emailed me on the 4th. I did not receive that email. The only emails I received were after I called them 5 days later. The comment neat the end says that Jacob will help me. Jacob's last email was there was nothing else could be done except a new prescription. I have a prescription that works on my Resmed and I was told that prescription would work on the Z2 before I purchased it. This company does not want to take responsibility for inaccurate information.

I wish there was a zero star review

I wish there was a zero star review. I put an order in for the first time. didn't read any reviews. paid for it. They sent a usps tracking number, but it's been days and usps has no records of any package received by them with that number. and here I am wondering if I was a victim of a scam by this company and haven't been able to talk to anyone with the company yet. STAY CLEAR OF THEM!!!

I have been buying my CPAP supplies from them fir several years. They have quality products good service and great sales. I also bought my CPAP machine from them. What's not to Love.

Great place to buy your CPAP gear

Good prices, fast shipping at reasonable cost, TERRIFIC Customer Service & Support.

I've been buying CPAP gear here for at least 15 years: multiple machines, numerous masks, lots of supplies.

Solid advice, well-trained staff, they offer a great Chat service for support and YOU CAN REACH THEM BY PHONE. I know: I'm yelling. But this has become near-impossible elsewhere.

I've occasionally bought elsewhere (Amazon, for instance, or another CPAP supplier online if they're out of something) but I've been disappointed in most cases & keep returning to these guys as primary supplier.

A very well-run business that actually believes in customer service. Highly recommended!

thecpapshop.com is a joke!

I've ordered from this garbage company a few times and half the time it has been an atrocious experience.

The first time I ordered a new CPAP machine from them on 6/11/24 and despite immediately uploading the prescription, the auto emailed (they LOVE flooding your inbox with emails) me saying they needed the Rx the next day. I uploaded the Rx again and noticed later that the status never updated from awaiting Rx. I called the customer service line and after waiting for SEVERAL minutes, the agent finally answered and attached the Rx manually. Fast forward until SIX DAYS AFTER I place the order and they FINALLY sent the machine out. It took over a WEEK to receive the order despite being only two days shipping away. Apparently according the CS rep if you opt for free shipping instead of paying the inflated shipping costs, they put the order in a lower priority queue and they ship it "when they get to it". Yet, when I placed another order for supplies with free shipping, it goes out immediately!

Next problem was on 7/17/24 when I order a travel machine. I get ANOTHER email saying they need the Rx AGAIN even though they just received it a little over a month again. Rather than deal with their broken Rx upload system, I call the Customer Support line straight away. A very rude rep answered the phone and I explained the situation. She attached the Rx to the order. At this point I have had it with this company but decided that if they can upgrade to faster shipping I would reconsider my dissatisfaction with them. But nope - she says they won't do that but it will go out today. She then tells me the delay last time (despite the other rep's confession about the low priority queue) is that they have to program the machines before they send them out. I suspect the rep is either lying or at best misinformed because my Rx is for autoset and it's an autoset machine. But the rep tells me I'm wrong and they have to set it to 4 - 20 cm H20 before they send it out. I'm pretty sure that is the default for these machines and if not, that's pretty impressive considering the box was BRAND NEW AND SEALED! After point that out she continued to argue with me saying I'm wrong. I replied ok that's in the past as long as this order goes out today that's fine. She then states it will for sure be sent out by Monday - today is Thursday! She just told me it would go out today, but now she says it may take up to 5 more days! I'd be surprised now if the machine shows up at all given the experience, but be sure they'll still keep the money!

Avoid thecpapshop.com like the plague! Horrible service, garbage ordering system, rude reps - it's not worth it! If they have some fantastic price on an item, I'd contact other vendors and see if they will price match first; you will be way better off and get way better service.

Edit: shortly after getting off the phone with the rep I get an email saying thecpapshop has received my Rx. Awesome now I don't have to deal with this ridiculous company ever again. Nope! SEVERAL HOURS later I get an automated phone call telling me they still need my Rx! What is wrong with these people! Who is in charge of their garbage commerce systems?

Disappointing Experience

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by thecpapshop.com. Despite their claims of a seamless process, my experience has been far from it. Firstly, their response time to emails is unacceptably slow, leaving customers waiting for days for a reply. Additionally, their assistance with RX issues, even with prior approval, is lacking.

What's worse is their aggressive email marketing, bombarding my inbox with six advertisements in just the past two days. Dealing with sleep apnea and other health issues is challenging enough without having to wait nearly a month for a company that eagerly accepted payment on day one.

I can only hope that I receive the unit I ordered at this point. However, based on this experience, I will never consider doing business with them again.

Ordered a Airsence 10 which now I have…

Ordered a Airsence 10 which now I have a problem with. I purchased on 1-3-23 which is still under warranty. I have severe sleep apnea and ordered a replacement CPAP to have on hand while the warranty one is replaced. The weekend call service person was excellent in helping me and UPS is delivering today 3-19-2024 but receptionist was not friendly when I reached back out for the warranty issues and it took a act of God for someone respond back, but when tech support reached out they never responded back with return info for the malfunctioning unit. Reached out and no response. Never again

Horrible Company

Never order from theses joker's. They so say that they can't cancel a order right after it was placed and now they what to change me a restocking fee. NEVER ORDER FROM THEM!

I just came back from thecpapshop in…

I just came back from thecpapshop in West Berlin, NJ. Wow! They are so nice! I bought a side cover for my resmed 10 since I no longer use the chamber. It makes the machine 2 inches shorter. Cost is $19.99 but first time customers get 20% off so it’s $15.99. I also was told since I don’t use the chamber I can use a standard hose that you don’t need to plug in the slot anymore so I got an 8 foot hose for FREE! They are so nice. I highly recommend them.
