I hope you're doing well today!

Here at the HOTH, we take client feedback very seriously and I appreciate you sharing your concerns in regards to your HOTH X Campaign.

A contract is a serious obligation and we by no means ever pressure or trick our clients into signing these agreements. This is an agreement that is discussed between yourself and one of our SEO Specialists, and it is ultimately up to you to decide if you'd like to sign the contract. We pride ourselves on our 100% transparent processes, providing not only a hands-on discussion of the terms of the agreement such as the duration, cost, and buyout options but also the written contract detailing those terms as well. After you discuss the contract with our SEO Specialists, for as long as you need to via phone or email to make yourself comfortable, the SEO specialist will confirm that you would like us to send over the contract for your reviewal, and signature if you decide to do so. We will then send over the contract. We do not blindly send contracts nor force you to sign them.

We did not sneak you into a contract nor threaten you to keep going. I apologize that you feel this way, but this is a process we take very seriously, and we would never coerce nor threaten our clients. I met with your Account Manager Trevor, and Campaign Manager Sam to confirm the proceedings of your HOTH X campaign from start to finish. Trevor confirmed that you met via google meet to discuss the terms of the HOTH X contract, during which he explained the duration, cost, buyout options, etc. As a result of you confirming your interest in the contract on this call, he sent you the contract which again detailed all of the terms of the agreement. You were not forced to sign this.

In terms of the threats and harassment you mentioned, we did no such thing. When you told us you wished to cancel your campaign due to personal reasons, your campaign manager provided you with the contract buyout options, which you were also made aware of prior to signing the contract, via the contract terms. If anything, our billing team followed up on the buyout options because you had ceased to respond to us or pay the terms that were again, listed on the agreement.

When it comes to the quality of our work, after reviewing your past communication with our team it seems you had been happy with our products and services and even detailed in your parting email to us that you wished to return to SEO one day when you were able to do so. I'm sorry that you feel our quality did not meet your standards, but our support team, as well as your campaign manager, were always there to help with any and all order concerns you had during the duration of your campaign.

All in all, I'm sorry that you feel we did not meet the mark here. It was never our intention to make you feel slighted. I hope this serves as clarification as to how our actions aligned with keeping the contractual process as straightforward and morally correct as possible.

I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for your feedback. We take client feedback very seriously here at The HOTH and are always open to suggestions as to how we can better our products and services. I greatly apologize that you feel we missed the mark here with your HOTH X Campaign and would love to help better your user experience in any way that I can.

Unfortunately, SEO can be a slow-moving process that takes time and consistency to see results. Although we hit the ground running with strategy, content, and link-building immediately upon starting your campaign, it is not realistic to promise ranking in a given time period or for a given keyword. We would never want to make any false promises that we could do such a thing, and are careful to emphasize that," it can take upwards of 12 weeks for links to be indexed on google, so we typically don't expect to start seeing results until after month 3." I have confirmed with both your past campaign manager, account manager, and current campaign manager, that this was emphasized throughout working with you. I apologize if this wording caused any confusion, but we always want to make sure that this is clear.

I understand that there was some confusion between the results that you were seeing vs the results we were seeing. That being said, your initial Campaign Manager Max had sent multiple videos showing exactly what we were seeing in regards to your rankings on Google as well as your campaign results on Ahrefs. Not only did he show exactly what he was seeing, but he was also transparent as to what tools he was using as well, including MOZ, SEMrush, and Ahrefs.

When it comes to results, we saw an increase in overall organic traffic, the volume of keywords you were ranking for, the number of keywords you were ranking for on page one, and keywords ranking in positions 1-3. These results were shown to you via a loom video on November 18th in an email from Max. For further context, at this point, your campaign had been live for around 2 and a half months. We also saw an increase in the position of your keyword "Toronto Product Photography" from position 6 to position 3, as well as an increase in "Toronto Product Photographer" from position 5 to position 4. These insights can also be found in the November 18th loom video. When it comes to the difference in Google Search Results, it was also explained that the search results could be varying from your view to ours based on location, which is unfortunately out of our control. Nevertheless, we still saw the above positive changes in your campaign and did our best to try and understand why there was a discrepancy between what you saw and what we saw. In an attempt to see exactly what you were seeing, Max had also offered to use any tools that you preferred, over the ones he was using.

Overall, we greatly appreciate your feedback, but I do just want to emphasize that we have tried our best to go above and beyond to optimize your campaign. We have met you halfway on your strategy requests to focus primarily on "Toronto Product Photographer" and "Toronto Product Photography" although we have warned that this hyper-fixation could result in over-optimization for these keywords. We were also sure to be as transparent as possible as to exactly how and where we were sourcing your campaign results and were also quick to assign you to a new Campaign Manager at your request. Hopefully, this provided some clarification as to the strides that we have made to HOTH you. We greatly appreciate your business and would love to continue working with you.

We received your feedback in regards to your disappointment with our HOTH X product. We really appreciate your feedback and are greatly sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the results you received. We are always looking to improve our products and services, and we always take client feedback into account when making these improvements.


I deeply apologize if you believe the expectations for your campaign were unclear or not met. We understand that SEO can be a very costly and slow-moving process. That being said, we did see a lot of positive improvement in your site during your campaign.



To address your concerns:

“Paid $5000 USD and not a single keyword they managed to bring on page 1”

We understand that SEO is a costly endeavor and we greatly appreciate your business. However, SEO is not a one-size-fits-all success story. We never guarantee first-page keyword rankings, especially for a brand new website within such a competitive niche. That being said, since beginning to work with us you have gone from ranking for 0 keywords to 475. Moreover, nine of these keywords are on the first page. This is actually a tremendous accomplishment, especially seeing as most of your competitors are extremely well-established sites with an average DR of 57. That being said, we do greatly apologize if expectations were not clear from the beginning. Because we understood your confusion and wanted to make your experience as beneficial as possible, we gave you around $2490 in free deliverables. This included $1500 in credits towards your HOTH X campaign, and 10 free syndication orders (a $990 value).

“Creating web 2.0 links that don’t make any sense”

The purpose of our link-building products like foundations, syndication, and guest post, is to provide valuable link juice to your site, not for the purpose of content creation. Syndication increases the SEO value of your blog post and in turn your site, while also increasing traction to your blog posts. Foundations diversify the anchor text ratio of your site and show google your site is more authoritative by diversifying your backlink profile as well. Guest Posts are also not created for traffic to the guest posts themselves, as that is not their purpose. Again, the benefit of our Guest Post product is within the existence of the links that help boost your site's rankings and get more traffic to your site.

“None of their backlinks has got any traffic”

As mentioned above, the goal is not to get traffic to the web 2.0s themselves. The benefit is in the existence of the links within the web 2.0s as they help boost traffic to your site and improve your site’s ranking. Which judging by the jump in your keyword rankings from 0 to 475, seemed quite successful.

“They don't even do on-page SEO, just straight jumping on creating backlinks”

We do offer on-page SEO. We have our Web Copy, Optimization, and Blogger products which all work to produce engaging conversion-driven content that is optimized for SEO. Both Blogger and Web Copy were utilized in your campaign.

“3 campaign managers were changed and the result was 0 BIG SCAM”

We do greatly apologize that you had a few campaign manager switches. We wish to create a stable environment and relationship for our clients and their campaign managers and definitely see how this could be frustrating.


Overall, we are sorry that you are unhappy with your experience with the HOTH. We are always open and receptive to client feedback and have taken extra care to not only optimize your campaign to the best of our ability but to also appease any and all of your questions and concerns.
