THIS REVIEW IS INACCURATE AND SHOULD BE DISREGARDED. HERE ARE THE FACTS:

Mr Ribalicenko has a sewage pump system that includes TWO submersible pumps. Only ONE of these pumps was replaced by us in 2025. The ONE new pump is covered by a 12 month warranty.

Upon receiving a call from Mr Ribalicenko yesterday we immediately agreed that we would dispatch engineers to his site upon receipt of our standard £395 call out charge. We also confirmed that if the pump under warranty had failed prematurely, that we would have replaced it FREE OF CHARGE under warranty AND would have refunded his £395 call out fee.

We have to make a charge to send two qualified pump engineers (including a fully qualified electrical engineer) to site because: A) it may well have been that the other / older pump had failed that was NOT under any warranty or B) it may well have been that one or both of his pumps had blocked up due to something he or his family may have flushed down the toilet. It is not uncommon in our industry (or any industry) to charge up-front for an emergency call out.

It was made perfectly clear to Mr Ribalicenko that the call out fee would be REFUNDED IN FULL had the failure of the system been due to the NEW pump failing within the 12 month warranty period (this is highly unlikely).

Any 'reasonable' person would have accepted these very fair terms, would have paid for the call out, and our engineers would have been dispatched. Instead, Mr Ribalicenko spent ALL DAY arguing with us, insisting we attend FREE OF CHARGE, even though the cause of the fault was impossible to determine without having men on site. Mr Ribalicenko's final action of the day was to pay 'another' contractor to attend site to investigate the fault.

WE ARE BAFFLED BY THIS BEHAVIOUR and in the words of Mr Ribalicenko himself - 'No other words needed'!

Thanks for the feedback Mr & Mrs Burns.

You last had a scheduled routine service (and repair to internal components) to your pump system on 09th December 2023. When you called me on Sunday 5th January 2025, requesting that we attend on an EMERGENCY basis on that SUNDAY, you were very apologetic and somewhat frustrated at yourselves that you had forgotten to arrange a service before the Christmas period, it was also noted that in excess of 12 months had passed since the date of your last service.

Had we attended in the 12 months following the last service, we would have carried out the required 'wear and tear' repairs to your pump system free of charge, as they would have still been under our company warranty. As it was, 13 months had passed since our last attendance, and as such, all materials from that previous attendance and installation were out of warranty.

We offered to carry out the repair and replacement of worn parts for a very fair price of only £695 (including materials and labour). We do actually consider this 'value for money'. I certainly wouldn't describe this as a 'huge quote'!

We can take no responsibility if you have given your neighbours misinformation, this is down to your own inaccuracy I'm afraid.

We pride ourselves on fair pricing, speed of response, and excellent quality workmanship. I would therefore urge any new or potential customers to make contact with us without delay.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED!!

Mr Richard Jeffery purchased his house 2 years ago (in 2021) that 'already' had a sewage pump system installed that had 'previously' been manufactured and supplied (but NOT installed) by A&C Pumps Ltd. The system in question had been purchased AND installed 5 years ago in 2018 by a third party groundworks contractor. The system in question is therefore 5 years old and well out of any warranty or defects period. Some 6 months ago we were asked by Mr Jeffery to carry out a service on this pump system - this was the very first time we had been to his site and the very first time the system had been serviced. Following that one and only service attendance Mr Jeffery was very happy with our engineers and their workmanship. The system has obviously been functioning perfectly well in the 6 months following that visit otherwise we would have no doubt heard from Mr Jeffery before today. Fast forward to today and Mr Jeffery called us very angry and agitated that there was a 'problem' with his pump system. He became even angrier (and eventually hung up on us) when we told him that we were happy to send engineers to inspect the system and to diagnose or repair any fault that may or may not be present, but that there would be a charge for this attendance. For all we know Mr Jeffery has flushed something down his toilet and has himself blocked the pump up! To expect us or any company to travel over 135 miles each way 'on a free of charge basis' to repair a fault on equipment that A) we did not install in the first place, B) have only been asked to service once in a 5 year period, C) is well and truly out of any warranty period and D) for all we know the customer has himself 'blocked up', simply beggars belief! I would strongly urge anyone reading Mr Jeffery's review to disregard his comments completely as we pride ourselves on quality products, highly competitive prices and excellent customer service at all times. We would be delighted to hear from anyone that requires our assistance with either a new pump project, an existing pump system or just some free of charge advice. We celebrated our 25 year anniversary in 2022 and it is only through providing such a superb customer experience, that we have weathered the test of time. Many thanks to all our loyal and long standing customers for continuing to support us.

Dear Mr Jumnoodoo, we absolutely require payment up-front. You were a brand new customer to us, you had no credit facilities with the company and we had to dispatch 2 x engineers very late in the day to travel 2 hours in each direction to attend to your ‘raw sewage emergency call out’. To expect us to allow you to ‘hopefully’ make payment once the work had been carried out is unreasonable and completely unheard of in today’s society. Would you expect to pay say Tesco for your weekly groceries once you had consumed them? You were under no obligation whatsoever to proceed with additional repairs / materials – we simply diagnosed your fault and quoted you for an immediate repair, to which you wholeheartedly agreed and instructed us to proceed. £395 plus VAT allows for 2 x qualified pump engineers to attend site on an emergency same day basis. This not only includes travel time to / from site, fuel, overheads, wages etc., but also an unlimited amount of time on site once we arrive. Many of our competitors charge an up-front call out charge AND an hourly rate once on site - we do NOT. At no point in this transaction were you informed that the call out charge would include only 2 hours on site. Thank you for at least fully acknowledging the excellent workmanship of our engineers. We were called around 4PM on the day of the attendance. We immediately dispatched 2 x qualified pump engineers in a fully equipped van from our base in Canterbury. Whilst we may have only spent 2 to 3 hours on site, we had 4 hours travelling time (2 hours each way) in order to get to / from site. Mr Jumnoodoo fails to recognise this fact in his review. Mr Jumnoodoo was quoted £940 plus VAT for complete replacement parts and full repair to his system (which included a brand new pump as only one of many components) while our engineers were on site. This repair cost included the pump itself, several replacement electrical components, new 316 Grade stainless steel pump lifting chain and shackle and various sundry items. A quotation was provided before work commenced and Mr Jumnoodoo was very happy to instruct us to proceed as it meant an ‘immediate fix’ to his sewage pumping problem – had the repair not been carried out there and then, Mr Jumnoodoo would NOT have had the use of his toilets, shower, washing machine, dishwasher, bath and other water using appliances until he had called out another company to affect the repairs. We were unable to find the exact same model of pump (supplied and delivered only) online for this price at the time of writing this review response. If Mr Jumnoodoo had wanted to buy a pump online himself and then attempt an installation / repair himself then he had every right to do this – if he had taken this route he would have more than likely been without toilet facilities for several days (and more than likely would NOT have been able to carry out the installation himself anyway BEING THE LAY PERSON AS HE REPEATEDLY DESCRIBES HIMSELF). "I was also told that they would review their price and get back to me....it might not surprise you to learn that I am still awaiting their phone call" – NO such promise was ever made. A&C Pumps Ltd pride ourselves on excellent customer service and a ‘second to none’ same day response time! Mr Jumnoodoo also fails to mention in his review that we offer an ‘industry best’ 6-year warranty on all new pumps installed (subject to ongoing servicing). This extended warranty plays a major part in our pricing structure. After 25 years in business and hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers, I find it very sad that a single misguided customer can make such an inaccurate complaint / review. I would urge anyone reading this to completely disregard the review of Mr Jumnoodoo and call us without delay – you will not be disappointed!
