I bought some books and have been receiving spam after spam after spam from thriftbooks to my email, and unsubscribing has not helped.

I also wrote them an email about this, and then I received four more after that, all within 2 hours, it just never stops!

Because of this incessant pestering by email, my will to shop at their store has dropped to 0, and I will be returning to Amazon, angrily.

Customer service

I've ordered several books from Thriftbooks and have always been pleased with the customer service and the quality of the books that I received. Recently I was disappointed when it delivered the wrong book. But when I contacted them, they quickly resolved the problem and today I received the correct book in great condition.

Ryan with customer service is amazing. I had an issue with an order were an item was duplicated. He was able to resolve my issue quickly and was extremly nice. Give him a raise.

I must admit, even though I've had issues with Thrift books , I'll continue to buy from them. They have almost every book I search for 👍 Anyone can contact Thrift books at 1888-9791408. They are so helpful figuring out issues with orders.

Although ordered new books can be very slow in coming, I recommend ThriftBooks because they send used books in good condition, and their customer service has in my experience been outstanding.

Average selection and low prices. ThriftBooks claims to quality check ever item before listing it, yet I have received the incorrect item three times now. On the second attempt to order the item I contacted customer service to request that they make sure it was the correct item listed. She said they had no way of checking their inventory.

While ThriftBooks offers free replacement, you need to order more books to get that replacement. They also do not tell you that free book vouchers expire.

It's an OK company. The quality control is very poor. I would not recommend ThriftBooks unless you see a particular book not offered elsewhere.

I recently made a few purchases from Thrift Books and I am completely thrilled with their service. Books were promptly shipped, email confirmations were made regularly, and the books arrived in great condition. I have wanted to free myself from my addiction to ordering books on Amazon and I am never going back! I highly recommend Thrift Books to anyone who wants a more ethical alternative to Amazon. (P.S. The negative reviews here seem baseless and silly. Read all the positive reviews for more accurate info.)

Thrift books is a great way to reuse and explore new material! I found a few out of print gems for my daughter, and some favorites for myself. I’m thinking about trying out the sell my books program soon too. Prices are reasonable and always new and interesting finds. I just wish I had alerts on my bonus points expiring because I lost some, but I guess they just need you to shop more often to really take advantage of that program. Overall, great to use the app and shop!

I bought a book for a class that's return period ended 3 YEARS ago. That was not made clear or shared pre-purchase, and that's INSANE. They refuse to hear other more ethical options. Do better.

I have been ordering from thrift books for a couple of years . They are the best.

This is my second purchase from Thriftbooks.com and I am not very happy. I ordered Fierce Conversations and The Purple Crayon. For Fierce Conversations they sent me a different version with a different cover then the one I ordered which is an older version and it stated it was in very good condition. That is not the case.. All the pages are very yellowed and have brown streaks on all the pages. Also, The Purple Crayon did state that it was just in good condition but when I opened it there was a written name for a baby with people hoping the child will love it for years to come in permanent marker. I was planning on giving it to my god daughter but not with that in it. I am so over letting this place pick out my books for me and that are inaccurate with the description. I usually have better luck with Amazons used books. I might send Thriftbooks.com used books or buy a new book. Just know you can't return or exchange a book or purchase under $15. Read the return and exchange Policy before you order. Way to lose customers and not have them come back or refer your company.

Previously wrote a poor review because I never received four of the six books I ordered and paid for. I couldn't find a way to contact the company.
After my review I was contacted. They re-sent the books and I feel awful but both sets (the lost one and the new one) were delivered yesterday. Thriftbooks jumped on it and made it good! I have loved them in the past and I will continue to order from Thriftbooks!
They told me to donate the ones that were lost if they appeared. They will be going to a senior home that needs books for their library. They will know they are from Thriftbooks!

I never received the book I ordered in the mail.
