The price was great only $6. Promised delivery was the 10th of Dec. Received the book on Dec 3rd. Book is like brand new,

Unable to preview books on line. Ordered a few books to look at. Unable to return any. Better off detailing with a dealer that will allow you to return unwanted, unused books.
Better to pay a little more and be treated better.

One more comment on ThriftBooks practice: I bought a vintage children’s Christmas book a few months ago.
It is in great shape for a book of its age. Unfortunately, ThriftBooks stuck their upc sticker on the spine with its atomic glue and, although very gingerly removed, it took all the aged red material with it, and with it, much of the value of the book. Is the upc meaningful? How about putting it on a branded bookmark inside the book?

Thrift Books, Dallas sent a book to the U.K. via AbeBooks which had two black permanent marker writings, covers were dirty and a page was ripped. They are refusing to refund my money unless I return the book although I have sent photographic evidence. It would cost more than my 8GBP refund, which is exactly what they want me to think. Diabolical!

Book was probably stollen, Needs to be delivered to door in apartment building.

I placed my order on 9/4/24, It's now 9/10/24 abd all you can say is that my order is on it's way. It's now 6 days and the tracking says my package is in York, PA, I'm on the coast of North Carolina. This is the worst service I believe I have ever received. At this point this is my first and last order, very poor service.

I have purchased from thrift books over a number of years now and have been a loyal customer. I am really disappointed with the customer service response to my request for assistance. I have a book on my Wishlist that is available on amazon.com but the item will not ship to Australia. I have enquired why I cannot purchase it through thrift books and all I get is send an email to customer support. When I ask who do I escalate my email request to no options seem to be available. Does not seem like anyone is willing to help at thrift books

Yet another email. This time telling me to contact them at trustpilot. Ok I am at trust pilot. What i do now is a mystery to me. I have a five year degree in the medical profession, am now 75 years old and this is not worth my time over a $10 book. Cleta Thompson

I ordered a copy of Moby Dick that was advertised as a hardcopy circa 1925. What I received was a children's adaption from the 1960's. They claimed books are identified by the ISBN number and not the accompanying picture, which could just be a stock photo, but who has access to an ISBN database? I have had good service from the company, but I have also gotten the wrong book 3 times now. Beware!

I ordered 10 books from this seller. Not a single book came in the condition promised. Many had stickers all over the covers and spines. Dust jackets were often missing, and books were different editions than advertised. One of the books I received had serious water damage to the cover and the pages. I will not be buying anything from this site again.

Will NOT buy from this company, again.....
Tried to cancel order (right after placing the order) information given is totally wrong and diff. done on purpose.!! Books sent were torn w/ no covers.

Wow! I'm sorry to read that some customers are dis tifiad with ThriftBooks. Any company has some bad workers. But, to use another person's credit cards is the worst thing for any company. So, please stop this error before it's too late and lead to legal issues.

I'm disappointed. I ordered 2 books for my daughter's birthday. One arrived fine but the other one was not the 1910 book I paid for. They sent me 2 of the same book. Of course called and they said I had to do a return online and i have to take it to the post office, very inconvenient for someone who doesn'thave a car. And the book I ordered and paid for is no longer available.

Wondering where my order was. I was told do to a new vendor new book orders process in 7-10 days before shipping to prevent back orders???? What it says 15 in stock on your site. Website said shipped in 1-2 days. No longer using them after this order

The shipping is fast, and they have a great selection. I prefer hardcover books and I can get them for a reasonable price here. The point system is really cool so I often buy my new releases on Thriftbooks to work faster to my free book credit.

I was trying to buy a dvd from this company and asked them a simple question- does the 'import' version that they are selling work in Canada? Region 1

The reply that I received was a 'post it' type advising they are too busy to check and that they have warehouses of books (sic) so just take a chance.

Dreadful service. Avoid at all costs.
