Will ruin your business credit scores if you’re trying to build.

Signed up in January ‘23 with this company for my new business in an attempt to build my business credit. Didn’t get my account reported until April and that showed up right after I emailed them ansking about it. Hooray, at least they reported right? Wrong. They report “payments only”, and the way these bureaus are set up, those reported payments are recorded as a balance owed. So guess what? You now have accounts with balances owed and your utilization gets screwed and score plummets. But rest assured, they will let you know they’ve done their part by reporting your payment. They clearly need to re-evaluate how they report their customer’s accounts because they ruined my credit score for now. Now I have to figure out how to fix it and hopefully not have a hard time getting my secured card deposit back.

Dave must be on here writing his own reviews because I found him snarky, even just in email. At least Alyssa seems nice.

Fun fact: I now learned that others in my business group have had a similar issue with their scores dropping because of how their accounts got reported. I’m so disappointed. I had such high hopes for their card and credit builder account.

Response to reply: As I assumed they would, they once again take no responsibility. My card has never had any balances on it, in fact it has once been left with an overage because they took so long to credit my payment that I ended up paying twice because I thought I didn’t pay. They just took almost a week to credit it. Again, they reported the amount of my payment made instead of reporting my balance which was ZERO. I even supplied them with screen shots to show them this. If they would put this much effort into fixing their errors as they do answering bad reviews about their errors, they’d probably be in good shape. They also clearly answer this faster than do they their support request emails. Shameful.

We understand that credit reporting practices can vary widely between companies, which is why we are transparent with the fact that you must make payments on your Tillful Card to be reported to the credit bureaus.
So long as you pay your balance in full according to your card agreement, there shouldn’t be outstanding balances reported. To ensure on time payments, we recommend setting up autopay.

In addition, all your business information must be correct and up to date in order for us to report your card. If the information we’re provided is inaccurate, then it will not match the information that the credit bureaus have on file, and thus, your card will not be reported. Your agent can help walk you through any questions you may have about this.

None of our support agents write their own reviews. It would be against our values as a company to do so.

It took a bit to get to a person but once i got to Alyssa, the problem was solved in under 30 seconds. Great help. No need for robots. Great help and very useful place to start building credit for any business.

You said this card was a new PG card and he did not hear about or check my credit, but you didn’t but for some reason you turned me down as a small business I would not even recommend you

Hi there, thank you for your feedback. We apologize that we couldn't approve you for a Tillful Card at this time. The Tillful Card is a no-PG card, and we do not check your credit, however, we do have other criteria that we follow, including requirements from our card and bank partner providers.

Approved my deposit and Closed my Acct

My business credit was approved once my deposit(500) was initiated. Two hours after my approval I received an email stating;

*****Thank you for being a Tillful cardholder.

While we appreciate your interest in doing business with Tillful, it has come to our attention that some of your activity may have violated Tillful’s terms and conditions.

Consequently, we will no longer be able to provide services to you and your account has been permanently closed. Please note, this decision is final and we do not disclose the specifics of our decision making process in order to keep Tillful a safe platform for all of our customers.

If you have already initiated a deposit, please contact your bank to initiate a return of the funds to your bank account.

I am not sure why this happened since I didn’t even get a chance to use the services they offer, I was still waiting for my card to arrive. And to have to ask for a refund via my bank when Tillful was the merchant that removed the $500 from my account was definitely an inconvenience. I had to call my bank and explain to them what happened. The rep I spoke to was even taken back by Tillful’s email.
I wish I could have at least experience this service but I am also glad this happened before I actually started using the card.

I received a call from Tillful representative Ly communicating that the issue has been esculated to a higher tier and that they are diligently working on it. Additionally, I was asked to provide more granular information regarding the issue which I did. What I found most impressive is Tillful initiated communication with my business bank to rectify the issue. It's been my experience that in a, two vendor one customer, senario the customer is ping-ponged between the two ultimately to no resolution and increased frustrarion. From a first-hand account, this can not be said of Tillful. I appreciate the way Tillful has decided to do business. I will update this post to reflect developments.

Tillful card is the hope of the small business who desires to build business credit. Their dashboard is intuitive and gives you a first glance of your expenditures coupled with the flexibility of separate virtual accounts if you chose/when you chose. However, I recently spoke with a Tillful card representative in regards to not being able to add/link my Tillful business secured card to my business fintech Bluevine business account. I wanted to utilize the ability of Bluevine dashboard (business bank account) to pay off the Tillful card. Communicating with Bluevine on 3 occasions, their conclusion, from the error message, suggest that the issue lay with Tillful card. Having contacted Tillful card I was hopeful of a resolution. Unfortunately, there was an abrupt disconnected from the Tillful card representative and as I waited for them to call me back.....there was no call back. 🤔 During the call they suggested that this may need to be addressed by their upper tier. I will update this post provided there are any developments.

Awesome Card

To me, customer service is everything, and Eanna was great! She really took the time to make sure that I understood what the Tillful card was, and what I can do with it! She made sure that I am satisfied with the card and I appreciate that call. I love the Tillful card. It’s easy to use self-explanatory, and will be in my wallet for a long time!
